ARIES 3" round side bars are a reliable and budget-friendly option for side steps on your truck. This set of nerf bars offers solid rust resistance, a custom fit and a no-drill installation. Constructed from stainless steel, these 3" side bars are perfect for work or play, easily withstanding dirt, water, mud, sand, snow and road salt and maintaining dependable corrosion resistance even offroad. They also come with a durable semi-gloss black powder coat finish that greater enhances rust resistance, and helps keep the nerf bars looking clean in spite of minor scuffs and scratches. 3" diameter, heavy-wall tubing is used to construct the steps, providing excellent strength and rigidity for safe, comfortable entry and exit. These 3" round nerf bars also feature non-skid step pads to further enhance safety. The step pads are textured to increase traction, and they are custom-placed to match the door layout for a convenient step up right where you need it. To ensure the best fit and appearance on your truck, every set of 3" side bars is made vehicle-specific. This means the steps are bent to a specific contour to complement the shape of the vehicle's rocker panels. It also makes for a much easier installation compared to any universal nerf bars or running boards. These particular 3" nerf bars are designed to fit specific years of the Ford F150, F250 Super Duty and F350 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES side bars use heavy-duty, vehicle-specific brackets that mount using pre-existing factory holes to completely eliminate drilling from the installation process. This speeds up the install and helps avoid unnecessary modification to your vehicle. It also promotes a stronger, more rigid step for sure footing every time you climb into your truck.

The kit includes 1 driver/left side bar, 1 passenger/right side bar, 4 universal side bar brackets, 12 plastic washers (M8), 8 hex bolts (8-1.25mm x 25mm), 20 flat washers (M8 x 24mm OD x 2mm), 8 lock washers (M8), and 12 nylock lock nuts (8-1.25mm). All brackets are universal and fit either left or right side.

The plastic washers are designed to prevent corrosion between the aluminum body panel and the steel mounting brackets. The manual states: 'Do not install the Brackets without the Plastic Washers.' One plastic washer must be slid over each factory mounting stud before attaching the bracket.
Slide one plastic washer over each factory mounting stud. Select a mounting bracket and attach it to the three factory studs using three 8mm flat washers and three 8mm nylock lock nuts. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten it at this stage. Repeat for the rear bracket on the same side.
Carefully position the sidebar onto the three mounting brackets without sliding or rotating it, as this may damage the finish. Attach the sidebar to each bracket using 8mm x 25mm hex bolts, 8mm lock washers, and 8mm flat washers. Do not tighten the hardware at this stage. After both sidebars are positioned, level and adjust them, then tighten all hardware.
Install the driver/left side first, then the passenger/right side. For each side: (1) locate the front and rear factory running board mounting studs, (2) slide plastic washers onto each stud, (3) attach the front mounting bracket with washers and nuts (snug, do not tighten), (4) attach the rear mounting bracket the same way, (5) position the sidebar onto the three brackets without sliding or rotating, (6) attach the sidebar with hex bolts, lock washers and flat washers (do not tighten), (7) level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs. This applies to the 8mm hex bolts, flat washers, and lock washers used to attach the sidebars to the mounting brackets.
Wax the product after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. For stainless steel sidebars, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs. For gloss black finishes, mild soap may be used to clean the sidebar. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product, but do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish.
Do periodic inspections to ensure that all hardware is secure and tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval. Regular waxing is recommended to protect the finish.
