ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Jeep Wrangler (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The 35701 kit includes two 3" sidebars (driver/left and passenger/right), six mounting brackets (front, center, and rear for each side), six support brackets, and all required hardware: 12 M6 hex bolts (25mm), 24 M6 flat washers, 12 M6 Nylock nuts, 6 M8 hex bolts (35mm), 12 M8 combo bolts, 6 M8 flat washers, 6 M8 lock washers, 6 M10 hex bolts (30mm), 12 M10 flat washers, and 6 M10 Nylock nuts.
Yes. Factory installed or aftermarket rock rails, side steps, or running boards must be removed before installation begins.
The installation is rated as Easy.
Start installation toward the front of the driver side of the vehicle. Locate the front threaded insert positioned between the first pair of holes along the pinch weld.
Select the Driver/left side Front Mounting Bracket and attach it to the threaded insert using one 8mm hex bolt, one 8mm lock washer, and one 8mm flat washer. Do not tighten the hardware at this time.
Align the Front Support Bracket to the back of the pinch weld and to the rear side of the Front Mounting Bracket. Attach it to the pinch weld using two 6mm hex bolts, four 6mm flat washers, and two 6mm Nylon Lock nuts. Insert bolts from the outside of the pinch weld and through the bracket. Use one 10mm hex bolt, two 10mm flat washers, and one 10mm Nylon Lock nut to secure the Support Bracket to the Mounting Bracket. Do not tighten hardware at this time.
The Center Mounting Bracket has a bottom corner trim, while the Rear Mounting Bracket has rounded corners. Both brackets look similar, so use the illustration and Figure 7 to distinguish them.
Carefully position the sidebar onto the three mounting brackets. Do not slide or rotate the sidebar on the brackets, as this may damage the finish. Attach the sidebar to the mounting brackets using six 8mm x 25mm combination hex bolts. Snug all hardware but do not tighten at this stage.
The mounting cradles on the brackets must be aligned and oriented to point toward the rear of the vehicle for proper installation of the sidebar.
After positioning the sidebar and snugging all hardware, level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware. Do not tighten hardware during the initial bracket attachment steps.
Yes. After completing the driver/left side installation, repeat steps 1 through 8 for the passenger/right sidebar installation using the corresponding right-side brackets and sidebar.
M6 bolts should be torqued to 3 ft-lbs.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft-lbs.
Wax the product after installing to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure that all hardware is secure and tight.
