These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. T hey offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Jeep Liberty (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The front of the sidebar may contact factory flares on some vehicles. If contact occurs, place one, two, or three fit adjustment spacers (included) on the outside of the pinch weld between the mounting bracket and pinch weld to create clearance. The spacers are 127mm × 25mm × 3mm.

Install the driver (left) side first, then the passenger (right) side. For each side: (1) insert the M10 bolt plate into the rectangular hole in the side panel, (2) hang the front mounting bracket on the bolt plate with M10 nylock nut and washer, (3) attach the bracket to the pinch weld with M8 bolts and nuts (do not tighten), (4) repeat for the rear bracket, (5) position the sidebar onto both brackets and attach with M10 bolts and washers (do not tighten), (6) level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
Leaving bolts loose during the initial assembly allows you to position and level the sidebar properly before final tightening. Once the sidebar is level and correctly adjusted, all hardware is tightened together in step 7.
The 10mm mounting tab location on the brackets must face the front of the vehicle. The vertical mounting locations in the brackets must be on the outer side of the pinch weld. Rear mounting brackets are ¼" longer than front mounting brackets.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft.-lbs.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft.-lbs.
Wax the product after installation. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. For black finishes, mild soap may be used to clean the product.
