The 35-5TOW tow hook kit is designed for 2010-12 RAM Mega Cab and 2010-12 RAM Crew Cab 2500/3500 models only. It works with Bull Bar B35-5006 / 35-5006. Verify your truck model and year match these specifications before purchasing.
Yes. The 35-5TOW tow hooks are designed to work with Bull Bar B35-5006 / 35-5006. The mounting brackets sandwich the bull bar brackets together at the factory tow hook mounting points. If your vehicle is not already equipped with this bull bar, you must install it before or during the tow hook installation.
Each tow hook has a maximum load rating of 10,000 lbs.
The kit includes: 2 tow hooks (10,000 lbs load max each), 1 driver/left mounting bracket A, 1 driver/left mounting bracket B, 1 passenger/right mounting bracket A, 1 passenger/right mounting bracket B, 4 bolts (13mm x 65mm hex head), 8 bolts (10-1.5mm x 60mm hex head), 8 hex nuts (10mm), 4 hex nuts (13mm), 8 lock washers (10mm), 4 lock washers (13mm), 16 flat washers (10mm ID x 25mm OD x 2.5mm), and 8 flat washers (13mm ID x 28mm OD x 3mm).
You will need long socket extensions and/or an open-ended wrench. Long socket extensions are recommended for accessing the inner hex bolts securing the factory tow hooks from behind the bumper. An open-ended wrench can be used to hold hex nuts in place while removing bolts from the front bumper opening.
Yes. If your vehicle is not already equipped with a bull bar, you must remove the 4 hex bolts holding the factory tow hooks to the frame and remove the tow hooks. If your vehicle already has a bull bar installed, you must remove both the bull bar and its brackets before installation.
License plate removal is not required but is strongly recommended. If your state or province law requires a front license plate, a license plate relocation kit is available separately from Curt Manufacturing.
1. Remove factory tow hooks. 2. Sandwich the bull bar brackets between the 35-5TOW mounting brackets A and B, then attach to the factory tow hook mounting points using 10mm x 65mm hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts—snug only, do not tighten. 3. Attach the tow hooks to the mounting brackets using 13mm x 65mm hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts—snug only. 4. Mount the bull bar to the outside of the mounting brackets using 10mm x 35mm hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts—snug only. 5. Level and adjust the bull bar, then tighten all hardware.
Snugging hardware without fully tightening allows you to position and level the bull bar and all components before final tightening. This ensures proper alignment and fit. Once the bull bar is leveled and adjusted to your satisfaction, all hardware is then fully tightened.
Yes. The manual specifies that assistance is required when mounting the bull bar to the outside of the mounting brackets.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight. For stainless steel finishes, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, or mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use mild soap only. Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish.
After installation, verify that the bull bar is level and properly adjusted. Ensure all hardware is fully tightened. Perform periodic inspections to confirm that all bolts, nuts, washers, and lock washers remain secure and tight.
