The ARIES TrailChaser Jeep bumper is unlike any other bumper for the Jeep Wrangler because it features a modular design. Each piece can be attached or swapped out as desired, giving you complete freedom of customization. This particular package includes the rear corners only. These two corners are intended to be mounted on the TrailChaser rear bumper center section (sold separately). They offer a bold finishing touch with an aggressive cutout and mounting points for additional lights. These side extensions are constructed from T6 aluminum alloy to be strong, lightweight and rust-free, and have a unique, textured black powder coat finish for maximum corrosion resistance. They are also available in powder-coated steel.

Yes. The bumper is available in aluminum (part numbers 2082036 without LEDs, 2082061 with LEDs) or steel (part numbers 2082038 without LEDs, 2082060 with LEDs). All versions have a textured black powder coat finish. The center and side extension part numbers vary by material and LED configuration, as shown in the Rear TrailChaser™ Kits & Components table on page 1.
You will need a torque wrench, socket set (including 16mm and 18mm sockets), a level, and an Allen wrench set. The installation is rated as moderate difficulty. If installing LED lights and wiring, you should be familiar with electrical systems or have someone with that expertise perform the electrical work.
The center section includes 4 M12 x 35mm hex bolts, 4 M12 flat washers, and 4 M12 lock washers. Side extensions include 4 M10 x 35mm hex bolts, 8 or 6 M10 x 30mm hex bolts (depending on LED configuration), 4 M10 x 40mm button head bolts, 20 or 16 M10 x 20mm flat washers, 8 M10 x 27mm flat washers, 16 or 14 M10 lock washers, and 12 or 10 M10 nuts. LED-equipped kits include 2 LED work lights (#1501252) and a switch. Quantities of some fasteners vary based on whether LEDs are included.
Yes. Step 6 explicitly states "With help, lift the new bumper center section over the frame rails." At least one additional person is required to safely position the bumper during installation.
Starting on the driver side, use a 16mm socket to remove the M10 bolts holding the corners of the factory bumper support bracket to the frame. Repeat this step for the passenger side.
1. Using a 16mm socket, remove the M10 bolts holding the corners of the factory bumper support bracket to the frame (driver side first, then passenger side). 2. Remove the center bumper bolts holding the Z-shaped brackets to the frame (driver and passenger sides). 3. Lift the bumper off the frame rails and set it aside. 4. Using an 18mm socket, remove the bolts holding the stock tow hooks to the frame. These will not be reinstalled.
Lay the bumper on a flat work surface. At each attachment point on the side extensions, secure with an M10 hex bolt, lock washer, two M10 x 20mm flat washers, and a nut. If installing without LEDs, do this for all four mounting locations per side. If installing with LEDs, do this for all three mounting locations per side. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage.
Take the C-channel bracket and place it into the frame of the Jeep. If necessary, use a screwdriver to move the C-channel into place. Repeat for the passenger side. The manual does not specify whether drilling or other modifications are required.
With the C-channel brackets in place and with help, lift the new bumper center section over the frame rails. Secure using M12 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers. Snug with an 18mm socket but do not fully tighten. Repeat for the passenger side. Do not fully tighten until the bumper is leveled in Step 9.
Secure the corner bumper bracket to the vehicle with M10 hex bolts, lock washers, and M10 x 27mm flat washers. Secure the corner bumper bracket to the bumper with M10 button head bolts, lock washers, M10 x 20mm and M10 x 27mm flat washers, and a nut. Repeat for the passenger side.
Use a level to check that the bumper is level. Adjust if necessary. Once level, fully tighten all hardware using the torque specifications: M10 bolts to 33 ft-lbs and M12 bolts to 58 ft-lbs.
Mount the LED lights in the recessed pockets on the bumper corners using the provided hardware. Adjust the light to the desired angle and fully tighten all hardware. Disconnect the supplied switch from the wiring harness and install it in the desired location. This step applies only if you are installing side extensions with LED lights.
1. Connect the harness extension to each light by inserting the male plug on the harness extension into the female socket on each LED light. 2. Route the harness extension to the front of the vehicle and connect to the wiring harness by inserting the male plug on the wiring harness into the female socket of the harness extension. 3. Reconnect the blue, red, and black spade connectors to the switch as shown in the Wiring Harness diagram. 4. Connect the red fused wire with ring terminal to the positive (+) battery post. 5. Connect the black wire ring terminal to the negative (−) battery post or other suitable vehicle grounding point. 6. Mount the provided relay to the vehicle and secure all wires with zip ties away from moving parts. 7. Test the lights to ensure proper function.
If the LED lights are being used with a 24V system, the relay will need to be replaced with a 24V unit. The manual does not provide the part number for the 24V relay. Contact ARIES Automotive at 877.287.8634 for the correct relay part number.
Improper electrical installation may result in personal injury. Unless you are familiar with the installation and handling of electrical systems, have the electrical work performed by someone who has that familiarity. Periodic inspection of all wires and connections should be performed to ensure there is no visible damage or loose connections.
To protect the product, wax after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodic inspection of all wires and connections should be performed to ensure there is no visible damage or loose connections.
After installation, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Check that the bumper is level and all fasteners are torqued to specification (M10 bolts to 33 ft-lbs, M12 bolts to 58 ft-lbs). If LED lights are installed, test them to ensure proper function.
