B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for durable, innovative towing products, including gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, and ball mounts. Built in Kansas by employee-owners, B&W products are engineered for dependable performance, easy installation, and long-lasting quality.
B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for building innovative, dependable towing products designed to make hitching easier and towing more comfortable. The company began in 1987 in Humboldt, Kansas, when founders Roger Baker and Joe Works combined their fabrication experience to build custom truck beds and solve common problems faced by truck owners.
B&W changed the gooseneck hitch industry with the introduction of the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. Its under-bed mounting system and reversible hitch ball allowed truck owners to quickly store the ball beneath the bed, leaving a clean and unobstructed surface when the hitch was not in use. B&W later applied the same practical approach to the Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch, creating a removable fifth-wheel hitch engineered for a quiet, smooth, and secure towing experience.
Today, B&W manufactures gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, ball mounts, and towing accessories at its nearly 600,000-square-foot facility. The company is owned by approximately 500 employee-owners who remain committed to American manufacturing, trusted materials, skilled craftsmanship, and long-lasting product quality.
Whether you are towing a work trailer, livestock trailer, camper, or fifth wheel, B&W Trailer Hitches offers thoughtfully engineered towing equipment built to perform mile after mile.

Yes, the B&W Trailer Hitches Custom Installation Brackets For Universal Mounting Rails For Some Ford Trucks Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Bracket BQVLRVR2500 (Part #BQVLRVR2500) is designed to fit the 2001-2002 Chevrolet C3500HD.
The B&W Trailer Hitches Custom Installation Brackets For Universal Mounting Rails For Some Ford Trucks Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Bracket BQVLRVR2500 (Part #BQVLRVR2500) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The RVK2500 is designed for 2001–2010 Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500 trucks. If your truck is within this year range and model designation, it is compatible. Consult the manual or contact B&W Trailer Hitches at 800.248.6564 or hitches@turnoverball.com to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
The manual shows installation hole locations for 6'6" short bed and 8' long bed trucks. Figure A2 provides specific measurements: 25-1/2" from the rear edge for short bed and 30-3/8" for long bed. If your truck has a different bed length, contact B&W Trailer Hitches for compatibility confirmation.
Required tools include: impact wrench or ratchet with 3/4" and 1 1/8" sockets, 3/4" and 1 1/8" box end wrenches, drill with 1/8" and 9/16" drill bits, tape measure, torque wrench, center punch tool, hammer, flashlight, eye protection, ear protection, and T25 Torx screwdriver (for heat shield removal if needed).
If your truck has a removable bed liner or mat, it must be removed or cut to allow the mounting rails to connect directly with the bed. It is acceptable to install the mounting rails over a spray-in bed liner.
The manual notes that it may be necessary to remove the spare tire and/or heat shield before installation, but does not specify whether removal is required in all cases. Inspect your truck before beginning installation. If removal is needed, reinstall the spare tire and heat shield after tightening all hardware (step 7 of the installation process).
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill five holes for the rear mounting rail and five holes for the forward mounting rail. Holes are first marked with a center punch, drilled with a 1/8" bit as pilots, then enlarged to 9/16". Always inspect the area under the truck before drilling to ensure the fuel tank or other equipment will not be damaged.
Drill two sizes of holes: first, use a 1/8" drill bit to mark and create pilot holes at the marked locations. Then use a 9/16" drill bit to enlarge each 1/8" hole to its final size. The 1/8" holes must be centered within the slots in the frame brackets before enlarging.
Place the mounting rail in the truck bed and measure from the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate) to the front of the rail. For a 6'6" short bed, position it 25-1/2" from the rear edge; for an 8' long bed, position it 30-3/8" from the rear edge. Center the rail side-to-side by measuring the distance from each side of the rail to the bed edges—both measurements must be equal.
1. Drill and install the rear mounting rail first. 2. Install frame brackets on both sides of the truck frame. 3. Position and drill the forward mounting rail. 4. Install the forward mounting rail. 5. Tighten all hardware to specification. 6. Reinstall spare tire and heat shield if removed. The forward rail must be spaced correctly relative to the rear rail and base before drilling—pull the RV base toward the rear and push the forward rail toward the cab.
Yes. U-shaped spacers are provided to fill gaps between the mounting rails and bed due to bed corrugation. Always place a U-shaped spacer either above the bed (between the mounting rail and bed) or below the bed (between the bed and side mounting brackets). Failure to use spacers will result in property damage when hardware is tightened.
The rear mounting rail is attached using five 1/2" x 2" carriage bolts (one per hole), with an offset square washer, 1/2" flat washers, 1/2" split lockwashers, and 1/2" finish nuts installed under the bed on each bolt. U-shaped spacers are placed in the gaps. All nuts are hand-tightened initially, then torqued to 80 ft-lbs in the final tightening step.
Install a 3/4" x 2 1/2" cap screw with a 3/4" flat washer through the relocation bracket (if needed for brake relay clearance) and through the frame. Place a frame bushing over the cap screw into the oval slot in the frame. Install the frame bracket over the cap screw on the outside of the frame and attach with a 3/4" flat washer, 3/4" split lockwasher, and 3/4" finish nut. Do not tighten at this time. Install a 1/2" x 8 1/4" x 4 1/2" U-bolt from inside the frame through the two forward-most mounting locations in the bracket, securing with 1/2" flat washers, split lockwashers, and finish nuts. Repeat for the passenger side.
A relay relocation bracket is provided in the kit. Detach the brake relay from inside the driver side frame, pass the 3/4" cap screw and flat washer through the relocation bracket, and install the frame bracket as normal. After installation, attach the brake relay to the relay relocation bracket to move it out of the way.
Place the forward mounting rail in the truck bed in front of the rear mounting rail. Place the Patriot 5th wheel or Slider Base over the rail attachment points and carefully lower it until the pin tabs pass through the attachment points on the rear mounting rail. Attach the forward mounting rail to the forward mounting points on the base. The base should rest flat against the top of the rails. Before drilling the forward mounting holes, pull the RV base toward the rear of the truck and push the forward rail toward the cab to correctly space the mounting rails.
Torque all 1/2" nuts in the mounting rails to 80 ft-lbs. Torque all 3/4" nuts in the frame brackets to 100 ft-lbs. Tighten the U-bolts slowly, alternating between the top and bottom legs until equally tightened to a maximum of 40 ft-lbs. Some bending of the side plate may occur during U-bolt tightening; this is normal and will not hinder function.
Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer—consult vehicle and trailer manufacturer information for ratings. Do not modify the product; doing so could alter its integrity and cause loss of attachment. Do not tow wedge car trailers with a single car on the front or at speeds unreasonable for roadway conditions. Always inspect the area under the truck before drilling to avoid damaging the fuel tank or other equipment. Regularly check all bolted connections are at correct torque specification. Perform a visual inspection before each tow. Installation must be completed by someone knowledgeable of hazards and proper safety procedures.
After installation, verify that all bolted connections are torqued to specification: 1/2" nuts to 80 ft-lbs, 3/4" nuts to 100 ft-lbs, and U-bolts to 40 ft-lbs maximum. Ensure the forward and rear mounting rails are correctly spaced and the base rests flat on the rails. Perform a visual inspection of all hardware and connections before each tow.
Regularly check that all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification. Perform a visual inspection before each time you tow to ensure all hardware remains tight and secure.
Yes, the RVK2500 is designed for 2001–2010 Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500 trucks. Confirm your specific model year and truck designation match this range.
A torque wrench is essential, along with a drill (1/8" and 9/16" bits), impact wrench or ratchet (3/4" and 1 1/8" sockets), tape measure, center punch, and eye and ear protection.
Yes, you must drill ten holes total (five for the rear rail, five for the forward rail) using 1/8" pilot bits and 9/16" final bits. Always inspect under the truck first to avoid damaging the fuel tank.
Removable bed liners must be removed or cut to allow direct rail-to-bed contact. Spray-in liners can remain. Spare tire and/or heat shield may need removal.
Torque 1/2" nuts to 80 ft-lbs, 3/4" nuts to 100 ft-lbs, and U-bolts to 40 ft-lbs maximum (alternating top and bottom legs).
Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer. Do not modify the product. Regularly check all bolted connections are at correct torque and perform a visual inspection before each tow.
Verify all bolts are torqued to specification (1/2" to 80 ft-lbs, 3/4" to 100 ft-lbs, U-bolts to 40 ft-lbs), the base rests flat on the rails, and the forward and rear rails are correctly spaced.
Re-drill the 1/8" holes until the brackets and the drilled holes are aligned. The holes must be centered within the slots in the frame brackets before you enlarge them with the 9/16" drill bit.
Yes, some bending of the side plate may occur during U-bolt tightening. This is normal and will not hinder the function of the hitch. Continue tightening the U-bolts slowly, alternating between the top and bottom legs, until equally tightened to a maximum of 40 ft-lbs.
