Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. Yes, trimming is required. You must use a reciprocating saw to cut the metal bumper flush with the side of the frame rail, approximately 1/4" from the end of the bumper on both sides. You must also cut the webbing of the frame end with horizontal and vertical cuts, and flatten frame support webbing with a hammer. Additionally, you must trim the fascia contours using a hack saw blade or utility knife to allow room for relocated coolant lines. For 2010 models, the two outside bars must be trimmed completely off so baseplate tabs can come through.

Install two 3/8-16 x 1 1/4" hex bolts and 3/8" lock washers to nut plates but do not tighten. 5. Install the bumper. 6. Now tighten the hex bolts. 7. In the lower drilled holes, install two 3/8-16 x 1" hex bolts, 3/8" lock washers and 3/8-16 hex nuts and tighten. Do this to both sides of the vehicle.
Attach the permanent baseplate safety cables to the provided convenience link on the baseplate. The recommended installation shows the cables attached to the frame of the vehicle. If additional options interfere with suggested mounting, secure the cables to a solid piece of the frame as described in the instructions included with the permanent baseplate safety cables.
