Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. The line covers tow bars and vehicle-specific baseplates for flat towing behind a motorhome, sway control and weight distributing hitches, supplemental braking accessories and towing wiring, backed by patented designs and long-standing customer service.
Blue Ox has manufactured since 1925 and is recognised internationally for towing products and customer service. The company operates from Pender, Nebraska, where it grew out of Automatic Manufacturing Co., a business that started with cattle oilers and developed into agricultural equipment, tractor accessories and trailer towing hardware. That agricultural engineering heritage still shows in how the towing products are built, and the company holds patents across weight distribution, fifth wheel and tow bar designs.
Flat towing is the discipline Blue Ox is best known for. Towing a car with all four wheels on the ground behind a motorhome demands a system that stays rigid under braking, articulates properly over uneven ground, and connects to the towed vehicle at points strong enough to take the load. Blue Ox tow bars handle the first two, with self-aligning arms that latch under tension and release without a struggle when the load is off them. Vehicle-specific baseplates handle the third, engineered per make and model to tie into structural mounting points behind the fascia.
The wider flat towing range covers supplemental braking systems, safety cables and the accessories that make a complete legal setup, along with baseplate wiring and dinghy towing harnesses that pass lighting signals to the towed vehicle without back-feeding its electrical system.
For conventional trailer towing, Blue Ox weight distributing hitches with integrated sway control transfer tongue load onto the tow vehicle's front axle and resist the yaw that crosswinds and passing trucks induce.
The company describes its foundation as customer service, designing around what owners actually ask for, and it runs an RV park adjacent to the factory where customers can stay. Sister operations at the same Nebraska site include Automatic grain roller mills and MAD-RAMPS pivoting ramp systems.

The BXH9000 is a Pintle Hitch Adjustable Ball Mount Add-On kit from Blue Ox. It allows you to attach a pintle hitch ring to an adjustable ball mount for flat towing. The kit includes a pintle hitch stop, pins, and lynch pin to secure the assembly to your receiver.
The BXH9000 has two weight ratings depending on which receiver it is used with: 10,000 lb when used with BXH10141 and BXH10171 (2" receivers), or 12,000 lb when used with BXH12241 and BXH12271 (2-1/2" receivers).
The BXH9000 is compatible with two types of Blue Ox receivers: BXH10141 and BXH10171 (2" receivers) rated at 10,000 lb, or BXH12241 and BXH12271 (2-1/2" receivers) rated at 12,000 lb. The kit is designed for flat towing use only.

The BXH9000 kit includes: (1) Bolt Bag (part 63-4973), (1) Pintle Hitch Stop (part 210-0232), (1) 3/16" x 1-1/4" Lynch Pin (part 229-0829), and (1) 5/8" Dia. x 3-11/16" Effective Pin, zinc plated (part 299-0800). You must supply your own adjustable ball mount to attach the pintle hitch ring to.
Installation has two main steps: (1) Attach the Pintle Hitch Ring to the Adjustable Ball Mount. (2) Install the Pintle Hitch Stop onto the receiver shank using the 5/8" x 3-11/16" pin with the 3/16" x 1-1/4" lynch pin in the hole directly above the primary ball mount. Ensure the Pintle Hitch Stop is positioned to prevent the pintle hitch ring from coming off the hitch ball.
When properly installed, the lynch pin ring will snap back onto itself, and the chamfered side will be facing outwards.
The Pintle Hitch Stop is installed onto the receiver shank to prevent the pintle hitch ring from coming off the hitch ball. It must be positioned correctly during installation to perform this safety function.
The BXH9000 works with BXH10141, BXH10171 (2" receivers, 10,000 lb) or BXH12241, BXH12271 (2-1/2" receivers, 12,000 lb). Check your receiver model number to confirm compatibility.

Yes. You must attach the Pintle Hitch Ring to your Adjustable Ball Mount before installing the Pintle Hitch Stop on the receiver.
Two pins are used: a 5/8" diameter x 3-11/16" effective pin (zinc plated) and a 3/16" x 1-1/4" lynch pin. The lynch pin goes in the hole directly above the primary ball mount.
