This replacement ball and pintle combination head offers versatile towing options and is designed to fit any CURT adjustable channel mount shank. It features a standard 2-inch diameter trailer ball to fit any 2-inch trailer coupler. With its integrated spring-loaded arm, the ball-pintle combination can also be coupled to a 2-1/2-inch or 3-inch lunette ring (inside diameter). The entire head securely attaches to any CURT adjustable channel mount shank. NOTE: Includes pintle attachment only. Channel mount sold separately.

The Curt 45919 is a 2-inch forged pintle and ball hitch designed for use with channel-mount trailer hitch systems. It has a gross trailer weight capacity of 10,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 lbs. It is designed to work exclusively with channel-mount systems and includes both a pintle (for coupling with a trailer coupler) and a ball mount option.
The Curt 45919 can only be used with channel-mount systems from the channel-mount system manufacturer. Use of any channel-mount other than that of the channel-mount system manufacturer could be a serious safety hazard and will void the warranty. You must verify that your vehicle's channel-mount system is compatible before installation.
The three models differ in ball size and capacity: Model 45919 has a 2-inch ball with 10,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 1,000 lbs. tongue weight capacity. Model 45920 has a 2 5/16-inch ball with 13,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 1,300 lbs. tongue weight capacity. Model 45922 has a 2 5/16-inch ball with 20,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 2,000 lbs. tongue weight capacity. Choose the model that matches your trailer coupler size and towing requirements.
The Curt 45919 has a gross trailer weight capacity of 10,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 lbs. However, you must not exceed your vehicle's towing capacity or your trailer hitch capacity, whichever is less. Always consult your vehicle owner's manual to determine your vehicle's tow rating and never exceed the lowest rated component in your towing system.
1. Install the adjustable channel-mount shank into your vehicle's trailer hitch and secure it with a hitch pin and clip. Always secure the hitch pin with a clip unless a locking device is being used. 2. Raise or lower the pintle to the desired height. 3. Insert the channel-mount system pins through the holes that line up with the holes in the channel-mount and secure the pins with clips. 4. After the pintle is set to the correct height and secured, tighten the anti-rattle set screw tightly into the channel-mount to eliminate noise.
You must use pins and clips that are specifically engineered for the channel-mount system. If replacement pins are needed, they must be replaced with original factory channel-mount pins. Do not use aftermarket or non-original pins and clips, as they may not be compatible or safe.
The pintle ball must be torqued to 260 ft. lbs. before towing. This torque specification is critical for safe operation and must be verified before each towing trip.
The anti-rattle set screw is used to eliminate noise and rattle between the channel-mount shank and the pintle. After the pintle is set to the correct height and secured with pins and clips, tighten the anti-rattle set screw tightly into the channel-mount. Use of the set screw is not required for safety; it is only to eliminate possible rattle.
If towing with the trailer ball: 1. Open the pintle latch by removing the safety pin and pulling up on the lock while lifting the latch. 2. Replace the safety pin to retain the open latch position. 3. Position the coupler over the trailer ball and lock it into place following the instructions of the coupler manufacturer.
Never hook up trailer safety chains to the channel-mount system. Safety chains must be attached to the vehicle frame or other appropriate attachment points as specified in your vehicle owner's manual. Attaching safety chains to the channel-mount system is a safety hazard.
Before towing, perform these checks: 1. Ensure the pintle ball is torqued to 260 ft. lbs. 2. Verify that all pins are secured into place with clips. 3. Ensure that safety chains operate freely around the channel-mount system and do not become entangled in it. 4. Confirm that your load does not exceed your vehicle's towing capacity or trailer hitch capacity, whichever is less.
The warranty will be voided if the pintle hitch is used with any channel-mount system other than that of the channel-mount system manufacturer. To maintain warranty coverage, you must use only the manufacturer's channel-mount system and follow all installation and operating instructions.
The Curt 45919 works only with channel-mount trailer hitch systems from the channel-mount system manufacturer. You must verify your vehicle has a compatible channel-mount system installed. Consult your vehicle owner's manual or contact Curt Manufacturing at 877.287.8634 for fitment confirmation.
