Yes. The manual recommends using an existing in-use hole with a grommet on the firewall if one is available. You only need to drill a new 15/32" hole if no suitable existing hole is present. Always inspect the opposite side of the firewall before drilling to avoid damaging vehicle components.

From inside the engine compartment, route the #16 duplex wire to the battery, securing it with wire ties along the way. Keep the wire away from any moving or hot parts of the engine. Cut the wire to length and split the wires apart so there is at least 6 inches of each wire available to attach to the battery posts.
Strip 3/8" of insulation from the end of each wire to expose the copper. For the black (negative) wire, crimp a ring terminal onto the bare wire. For the red (positive) wire, crimp the inline fuse butt connector onto the bare wire.
If you drilled a new hole in the firewall, split the included rubber grommet and place it over the #16 duplex wire, then work it into the firewall hole. If you used an existing hole with a grommet, skip this step. Proper installation of the grommet is critical to prevent harmful fumes from entering the passenger compartment.
Remove the nut on the negative battery terminal, place the ring terminal from the black (smooth) wire over the bolt, and retighten the nut. Remove the nut on the positive battery terminal, place the ring terminal of the inline fuse over the bolt, and retighten the nut. Secure the remaining duplex wire with wire ties.
Secure the 12V receptacle under the dashboard using the included wire ties. Position it so it hangs from under the dash but will not hang low enough to be in the way when driving the towed vehicle.
