The TBC+ is a device that charges the towed vehicle's battery while it is being towed behind an RV. It connects to the towed vehicle's battery and receives charging power through the motorhome's umbilical cord connection. The TBC+ monitors battery voltage via an LED indicator that shows different states: flashing blue (above 12 volts), flashing yellow (11–12 volts), flashing red (below 11 volts), or solid red (error). It can be monitored remotely using either a Command Center tablet and hub or a Bullseye Wireless Monitor, though pairing is optional and not required for the TBC+ to function.
The TBC+ is designed for towed vehicles in RV towing setups. It requires a motorhome with a 6-pin umbilical connector on the bumper that supplies constant 12VDC power. The towed vehicle must have an accessible battery and a 6-pin connector where the umbilical cord connects. For vehicles with rear-mounted batteries, consult your vehicle's owner's manual to locate the jump start lug and appropriate ground source. The manual does not provide a specific list of compatible vehicle makes and models.
The following tools are required: 1/8" drill bit, 15/32" drill bit, #25 drill bit, and #10-32 tap. The installation involves drilling and hole enlargement. Safety glasses should be worn at all times during installation.
The TBC+ package includes: 1 Towed Battery Charger Plus unit, 5 wire ties, and 4 mounting screws. The unit also comes with a USB charger for powering the hub (if using Command Center) or Bullseye Wireless Monitor.
Mount the TBC+ box near the towed vehicle's battery in a location that allows you to easily route the duplex wire to the battery terminals. You can mount the box along the inner fender using the provided screws, or on a wire loom using the provided wire ties.
1. Remove the nut on the positive battery terminal, place the red cable ring terminal over the bolt, and re-tighten the nut. 2. Remove the nut on the negative battery terminal, place the black cable ring terminal over the bolt, and re-tighten the nut. Ensure the connections are secure before proceeding.
1. Locate the 6-pin connector near the front of the motorhome. 2. Route the TBC+ duplex wire labeled "RV" safely through the engine compartment or fender to the front of the vehicle where the connector is located. 3. Identify the positive 12VDC terminal in the 6-pin connector, strip the end of the red wire from the TBC+, insert it into the connector, and securely tighten. 4. Identify the ground terminal in the 6-pin connector, strip the end of the black wire from the TBC+, insert it into the connector, and securely tighten. 5. Inspect for loose or dangling wire and secure with the provided wire ties.
The motorhome must provide a constant 12VDC supply to the 6-pin connector on the bumper. This supply must be greater than the voltage of the towed battery for the TBC+ to charge the towed vehicle's battery. If there is no RV power going into the TBC+ for an hour or more, the LED will stop flashing.
If you have to disconnect the towed vehicle's battery for towing, it is recommended to disconnect both the negative and positive terminals. Failure to disconnect both terminals can cause damage to the towed vehicle.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Additionally, failure to connect the TBC+ according to the instructions may result in damage to your charge circuit or other electronics, for which CURT is not responsible. Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product.
After installation, plug the umbilical into both the motorhome and towed vehicle, then start the motorhome's engine. The RV LED on the TBC+ should flash if there is a constant 12V supply greater than the voltage of the towed battery and the motorhome engine is running. The LED states indicate: flashing blue (above 12 volts), flashing yellow (11–12 volts), flashing red (below 11 volts), or solid red (error). If the LED is not flashing, check all terminal connections, the fuse, and the 12-volt supply from your motorhome.
No. Pairing is not required for the TBC+ to function. The TBC+ does not come paired with either the Command Center tablet and hub or the Bullseye Wireless Monitor. Pairing is optional and allows you to monitor the TBC+ remotely, but the device will charge the towed vehicle's battery without pairing.
1. Power on the Command Center tablet by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds, and power the hub by connecting it to the provided USB charger or pressing the power button. 2. On the tablet, click Add Device from the Dashboard. 3. Enable TBC+ by toggling the on/off slider to ON. 4. Make sure the LED on the TBC+ is flashing by plugging in the umbilical to the RV and towed vehicle and starting the motorhome's engine (or starting the towed vehicle engine and shutting it back off). 5. Place your powered Command Center hub on or near the TBC+. Once found, enter the TBC+'s serial number (S/N) when prompted. Note: Tablet software 1.7.7 and older will ask you to pair with QR code; update to 1.8.0 or newer for serial number pairing.
1. Power on the Bullseye Wireless Monitor by connecting it to the provided USB charger. 2. Make sure the LED on the TBC+ is flashing by plugging in the umbilical to the RV and towed vehicle and starting the motorhome's engine (or starting the towed vehicle engine and shutting it back off). 3. On the Bullseye, tap the serial number that matches the number on the side of your TBC+. The pairing process will complete automatically.
The TBC+ has two sets of LED indicators. Towed Battery LED states: flashing blue indicates above 12 volts, flashing yellow indicates 11–12 volts, flashing red indicates below 11 volts, and solid red indicates an error. Breakaway LED states (if applicable): green indicates Breakaway is plugged in, connected to RVibrake3, and working with good signal strength; yellow indicates low signal strength; flashing red indicates a Breakaway is detected.
If there is no RV power going into the TBC+ for an hour or more, the LED will stop flashing. This is normal operation. The LED will resume flashing once RV power is restored and the conditions for charging are met (constant 12V supply greater than the towed battery voltage, motorhome engine running, and umbilical plugged in).
If the RV LED is not flashing when the motorhome engine is running and the umbilical is plugged into both vehicles, check the following: 1. Verify there is a constant 12V supply to the 6-pin connector on the motorhome bumper. 2. Check all terminal connections on the TBC+ (red and black wires to the 6-pin connector). 3. Check the fuse. 4. Verify the 12-volt supply from your motorhome is functioning. For vehicles with rear-mounted batteries, consult your owner's manual to find the jump start lug and appropriate ground source.

A solid red LED indicates an error condition. Check all terminal connections (red and black wires to the 6-pin connector and to the towed battery), verify the fuse is not blown, and confirm the 12-volt supply from your motorhome is functioning correctly.
