This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Honda Odyssey (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. You will need: ratchet, torque wrench, 9-inch extension, 11/16-inch socket, 19mm socket, 10mm socket, and screwdriver. Using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the installation and reduce installation time.
The kit includes: 4× M12-1.25 × 35mm hex bolts, 4× 1/2-inch conical toothed washers, 1× 7/16-14 hex flange nut, 1× CM-SP2 square hole spacer (0.250 × 0.88 × 2.25 inches), 1× 7/16-14 × 1.5-inch carriage bolt, and 1× 7/16-inch fishwire.
If present, remove the plastic fascia covering the driver side frame rail by removing 5 fasteners. Return the fasteners and fascia to the owner. You may trim the fascia and re-attach it after hitch installation.
Locate the 2 weldnuts near the end of each frame rail. Clean them of debris and rust to ease hitch installation. This preparation step is important for proper fastener engagement.
Raise the hitch into position by sliding the passenger side plate over the exhaust first. This prevents interference with the exhaust system during installation.
Secure the hitch into position using the M12-1.25 × 35mm bolts and 1/2-inch conical toothed washers. These fasteners attach to the existing weldnuts on the passenger side frame rail.
On the driver side frame rail, use the 7/16-inch fishwire to thread a 7/16-14 × 1.5-inch carriage bolt and CM-SP2 spacer through the existing access hole and into the existing hole in the bottom of the frame rail. Secure with the 7/16-inch flange nut. The fishwire allows you to guide the bolt through the access hole without removing the frame rail.
Torque all 12mm hardware (M12-1.25 × 35mm bolts) to 86 ft-lbs. Torque all 7/16-inch hardware (carriage bolt and flange nut) to 70 ft-lbs.
