A CURT trailer hitch is the key to pursuing your passions, whether you're taking the family boat out for an afternoon on the water or packing up the mountain bikes for a day on the trails. This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Chrysler Pacifica (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. It is descaled for a smooth surface, submersed in liquid A-coat for rust prevention inside and out, covered with a highly durable powder coat, and finally co-cured for a dependable shield against the elements. This class 2 hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin and mounting hardware for a complete installation.

Yes, CURT part number 12180 is designed for 2017-present Chrysler Pacifica vans. This is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. Always verify your vehicle matches the specifications before purchase.
The CURT 12180 is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight of 350 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Required tools include: ratchet, torque wrench, 6" socket extension, 8mm socket, 10mm socket, 3/4" socket, universal joint socket, screwdriver, masking tape, aviation shears, die grinder, and safety glasses. Proper tools will greatly improve installation quality and reduce installation time.
The kit includes: (5) 1/2-13 x 1 1/2" carriage bolts, (5) CM-SP10 spacers (.250 x 1.00 x 2.50" square hole), (5) 1/2" conical toothed washers, (5) HFN 1213 hex flange nuts, (5) 1/2" fishwires, (1) M6-1.00 x 40 tap bolt, (1) 1/4-20 x 1.00 hex bolt, and (1) 1/4-20 hex nut.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and notes that using proper tools will greatly improve installation quality and reduce installation time.
Yes, trimming is required. You must trim the underbody panel with a 0.5" x 10" slot and trim the heat shield with a 5" x 13" section using aviation shears. On hybrid models only, you must also enlarge holes on the driver side frame rail using a die grinder. These modifications are permanent.
Yes, you must lower the exhaust by removing (2) rubber isolators as part of the installation process. The exhaust is lowered to provide clearance for hitch installation.
All 1/2" hardware (carriage bolts and hex flange nuts) must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs. This torque specification applies to the final assembly after the hitch is raised into position.
Fishwires are used to guide the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame rail access holes and to help align the bolts with the hitch holes during installation. The fishwires are removed before the hex flange nuts are loosely fastened.
If your vehicle has an underbody panel, you must remove it to access the frame rails. The manual notes: 'if no underbody panel, skip to Step 3.' You will trim a 0.5" x 10" slot in the panel and reinstall it after the hitch is secured.
Yes, the CURT 12180 is designed for use with ballmount #45521. Euro mount options are also available: #45571 (1 7/8" ball) and #45572 (2" ball). These are sold separately.
