The kit includes one StowPro adjustable ball mount (shank), one dual ball mount, three 5/8" pins, and three clips. A hitch pin and clip for initial installation into the receiver tube are sold separately.
The gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity is 10,000 lbs and the tongue weight (TW) capacity is 1,000 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, as the mount ratings represent only the product's capability, not your vehicle's towing system limits.
The manual does not specify which hitch receiver sizes or vehicle models are compatible with the 45961. Contact CURT product support at 877-287-8634 or consult a fitment database to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle and receiver tube.
You need a tape measure to determine the proper ball height by measuring from the bottom of the trailer tongue to the ground. A hitch pin and clip (sold separately) are also required to secure the shank into the receiver tube.
Level your trailer and measure from the bottom of the trailer tongue to the ground. Find the hole on the adjustable shank closest to that measurement. The trailer ball platform will be centered on that hole. Adjust the two adjustment pins and clips to align with the proper hole locations.
Insert the shank (#1) into the trailer hitch receiver tube and secure it with a hitch pin and clip. These fasteners are sold separately and must be obtained before installation.
To store: Remove the dual ball pin and clip and rotate the dual ball 90 degrees. Remove the two adjustment pins and clips, guide the dual ball mount down the adjustment groove, and rotate it to the backside of the adjustable shank. Reinstall pins to secure it. To tow: Reverse this process—move the dual ball mount to the front side of the shank, reinstall pins at the desired ball height, then rotate the dual ball 90 degrees to the tow position.
No. Use of any pin other than that of the mount system manufacturer could be a serious safety hazard and will void the warranty. Always use the 5/8" pins supplied with the product.
No. Never hook up trailer safety chains to the mount system. Ensure the safety chains operate freely around the mount system and do not become entangled.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
