With the CURT roof rack cargo carrier extension, you gain an extra 6 sq. ft. of storage space atop your vehicle, and gain total of 17 sq. ft. when combined with the CURT roof rack cargo carrier (#18123). Its cage-style design features a 5" deep basket, ideal for carrying bulky items, preventing shifting or falling while driving over inclines or rough roads.
The robust steel structure is treated with a protective E-coat, preventing rust, and finished with a tough carbide black powder coat, ensuring resilience against outdoor elements, dings, and scratches while maintaining an appealing appearance.

The roof rack extension has a weight carrying capacity of 150 lbs, but this is limited to your vehicle's factory roof rack weight limit. Never exceed the factory weight rating of the OEM roof rack, including the weight of the cargo carrier.
You need a 4mm Allen wrench and a 5mm Allen wrench. Both are included with the product.
Tighten M6 x 16mm bolts to 7 ft-lbs.
The package includes: 1 roof rack extension, 2 water-proof caps, 4 M6 x 16mm bolts (BHCS), and 1 4mm Allen wrench. A 5mm Allen wrench is also included but not listed in the parts list.
Check the basket extension and hardware provided, and remove the plastic protective end cap. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.
1. Remove the plastic protective end cap from the extension. 2. Disassemble the water-proof caps from both sides of your existing roof basket. 3. Insert the extension between the front and rear sections of the basket. 4. Cover the tubing joints with water-proof caps on the top and bottom, ensuring the flat surface faces outward. 5. Insert M6 x 16mm screws from the bottom side through the water-proof caps and round tubing. 6. Tighten screws with the Allen wrench to 7 ft-lbs.
The flat surface of the water-proof caps should face outward. The caps cover the tubing joints on both the top and bottom sides of the basket.

Yes. The roof basket with the 18124 extension can carry bicycles. Remove the front wheel and insert the front fork onto the fork mount at the front of the cargo basket, then press the quick release lever down to secure. Wrap the rear tire around the round tubing using a safety strap and feed the end into the buckle to tighten securely. Ensure the fork is fully seated onto the fork mounts and perform a final check to ensure the bike is secure before traveling.
A 9mm bushing is pre-installed. The bushing can be replaced with a 12mm bushing if required for your bicycle.
Yes. The two adapters are double-sided and compatible with wider forks. You can remove an adapter and flip it around to use the alternate mounting option.
