Choosing the right gooseneck hitch is only half the battle in preparing your pickup truck for towing a gooseneck trailer. CURT gooseneck hitches are a premium option in the heavy-duty towing industry, but they are only one of the members in the heavyweight tag team that is CURT gooseneck towing. While a gooseneck hitch gets all the glory above the floor of your truck bed, gooseneck installation brackets provide sure footing and a solid foundation for that oversized gooseneck trailer. Gooseneck installation brackets work by bolting onto the frame of your truck, typically using pre-existing holes. With a set of brackets firmly bolted on, a gooseneck hitch is able to be attached and is given the strength it needs to manage the massive amount of weight of a gooseneck trailer. With so many gooseneck hitch options available from CURT, we wanted to make sure we offered the gooseneck installation products needed to give you a complete towing package. Our installation brackets fit multiple vehicles and hitch heads. This particular set of gooseneck installation brackets is specifically designed to mount the CURT Double Lock EZr gooseneck hitch #60611 on certain years of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks (see application info to verify fitment). It features a laser-cut construction for a precise fit and is rated to the vehicle's maximum gross trailer weight capacity. With each gooseneck installation bracket sub kit, we provide the necessary hardware for an easier installation, and we coat our gooseneck brackets in a liquid A-coat to make sure rust and other potential damages are not a problem.

Yes. You must temporarily remove the spare tire. The exhaust heat shield will need the width trimmed from it between the bed supports, and the spare tire must be lowered to access the installation area.
All models require modification or removal of heat shields. The exhaust heat shield must have the width trimmed from it between the bed supports. Hold the gooseneck side plate against the mounting location on the frame to verify the correct portion to remove. A rotary cutting tool is recommended for trimming. On 2016 and newer models, remove the four bolts holding the rear heat shield with a 13mm socket and return to owner.

The rear cross arm must be rotated vertically once it spans the frame rails. The outside tapped holes in the rear cross arm are offset 1/8" and must be rotated so the holes are offset towards the frame (not away from it). A crescent wrench can be used as a lever on the cross arm to ease the rotating process.
The front cross arm must be inserted so the leg without holes is against the bottom of the bed. The leg with holes should face the rear of the vehicle. You may need to use a crescent wrench to bend the metal flange below the bed outward to allow the front cross arm to be slid into position.
On 2015 and older models, fishwires are used to position and retain hardware during side plate installation. Two 5/8" x 2" carriage bolts with CM-SP9 spacers are fishwired in position through the frame access hole. The fishwires (part number 5/8 FISHWIRE) are left attached to the hardware to prevent loss of hardware inside the frame. Once the side plate is positioned, the fishwires are carefully removed and the side plate is attached to the frame with 5/8" flange nuts.
On 2016 and newer models, loosely install the side plates (C and D) with the supplied M16 bolts (part number M16 - 2.00 x 35 HHCS GR. 8.8), 5/8" lock washers (30-00132), and 5/8" flat washers (30-00131) into the existing weldnuts in the frame of the vehicle. Slide each plate rearward as far as possible to ensure the hitch is square on the vehicle. Repeat on the other side.
Torque fasteners in this order: First, torque the side plates to the truck frame on both sides. Second, torque the center section to the front and rear cross arms. Third, torque the side plates to the front and rear cross arms. Torque all 5/8" fasteners to 210 ft-lbs, 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs, and 16mm fasteners to 137 lb-ft.
All 5/8" fasteners on the 60624 subkit must be torqued to 210 ft-lbs.
All 1/2" fasteners on the 60624 subkit must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs.
All M16 fasteners (M16 - 2.00 x 35 HHCS GR. 8.8) on the 60624 subkit must be torqued to 137 lb-ft.
Verify that the sides of the center section are in the same location on the truck bed ribs. This ensures the hitch is centered on the vehicle before final torquing.
The two pushnut bolt retainers (1/2 PNBR) are optional and included to assist with installation. If desired, place one 1/2" x 1 1/2" carriage bolt through each of the centermost slots in the center section on the side that fastens to the front cross arm. Ensure the serrations in the bolt retainer are angled away from the center section and push a bolt retainer onto the two carriage bolts. Use one of the included spacers as a tool to push the bolt retainers into position.
The CM-SP12 spacer (0.250 x 1.00 x 2.00" square hole spacer) is used specifically for the carriage bolt that goes over the fuel tank. It is placed between the carriage bolt and the front cross arm when attaching the center section to the front cross arm.
The CM-SP9 spacers (0.375 x 1.25 x 2.50" square hole spacers) are used in two ways: six are included for use with 5/8" x 1 3/4" carriage bolts when attaching side plates to the cross arms, and on 2015 and older models, two are used with 5/8" x 2" carriage bolts when fishwiring side plates to the frame.
The cylinder in the center section should offset towards the rear of the vehicle. Be sure the center locator is inserted into the center section cylinder prior to installing.
On short bed models, you must check for adequate turning clearance between the front of all trailers and the truck cab. Use the clearance calculation formula on page 4: (Cab to ball center) - (1/2 trailer width) = minimum clearance. If there is a coupler overhang, use: [(Cab to ball center) - (coupler overhang)] - (1/2 trailer width) = minimum clearance. If the result is positive, the trailer will not interfere with the cab. If negative, the trailer will interfere.
On two-wheel drive trucks, a clearance check must be performed when the truck is both loaded and unloaded to verify the inverted ball will not interfere with the top of the differential. This is critical because the truck's suspension height changes with load, affecting the ball position relative to the differential.
