Choosing the right gooseneck hitch is only half the battle in preparing your pickup truck for towing a gooseneck trailer. CURT gooseneck hitches are a premium option in the heavy-duty towing industry, but they are only one of the members in the heavyweight tag team that is CURT gooseneck towing. While a gooseneck hitch gets all the glory above the floor of your truck bed, gooseneck installation brackets provide sure footing and a solid foundation for that oversized gooseneck trailer. Gooseneck installation brackets work by bolting onto the frame of your truck, typically using pre-existing holes. With a set of brackets firmly bolted on, a gooseneck hitch is able to be attached and is given the strength it needs to manage the massive amount of weight of a gooseneck trailer. With so many gooseneck hitch options available from CURT, we wanted to make sure we offered the gooseneck installation products needed to give you a complete towing package. Our installation brackets fit multiple vehicles and hitch heads. This particular set of over-bed gooseneck installation brackets is designed to fit multiple CURT gooseneck hitches and provide a custom fit on certain years of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with classic body style, Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or 3500, Chevrolet Silverado 2500LD with classic body style, GMC Sierra 1500 with classic body style, GMC Sierra 2500HD or 3500 or GMC Sierra 2500LD with classic body style (see application info to verify fitment). It has a maximum weight capacity of 30,000 lbs., includes grade-8 mounting hardware for a complete installation and features laser-cut construction for a precise fit.

The Curt 61341 fits 99-06 and 07 Classic Chevy-GMC 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton (LD); 01-06 and 07 Classic Chevy-GMC 3/4 and 1 ton HD Series; and 07-08 New Body Style Chevy-GMC 3/4 and 1 ton HD Series in both long and short bed configurations (Silverado and Sierra Series). Confirm your truck model year, cab style, bed length, and whether it is a 1500, 2500, or 3500 before purchasing.
No. The 61341 subkit does not include the C-52 folding hitch ball. The C-52 must be purchased separately and is installed after the crossarms and side plates are secured to the truck frame.
Yes. The manual explicitly states: **REMOVE SPARE TIRE FOR INSTALLATION**. The spare tire must be removed before you begin installing the crossarms.
All models require modification or removal of heat shields. Additionally, brake, fuel, and electrical lines may need to be loosened or repositioned to provide clearance for new hardware. On 2500 and 3500 new body styles, the electrical box must be removed from inside the driver side frame rail by removing two bolts from outside the frame. Drilling into the truck bed is required to mount the C-52 hitch ball assembly.
Yes. The manual states: "Be sure to check for brake lines and/or fuel lines before drilling." You must verify the location of these lines before drilling the four 1/8" pilot holes through section lettered "B" of the C-52 cutting template to avoid damaging them.
Three drilling operations are required: (1) Drill a hole through the truck bed at the center of each crossarm mounting hole after crossarms are secured and vertical. (2) Drill four 1/8" pilot holes through section lettered "B" of the C-52 cutting template, after centering the six pilot holes marked "A" with the truck bed. (3) Drill out the six holes with a 21/32" drill bit after the template is removed. The manual also requires cutting out section "C" of the truck bed using a sabre saw, and notes that cutting of bed rail supports may be necessary on some models.
Yes. The installation requires using a sabre saw to cut out section "C" of the truck bed. This is a permanent modification. Cutting of bed rail supports may also be necessary on some models.
The 61341 subkit includes: 4× 1/2-13 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (20-00062); 4× 5/8-11 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (20-00105); 2× 3/4" flat washers (30-00152); 2× 3/4-10 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (20-00106); 2× 3/4-10 UNC Grade 8 hex cap screws, 2-1/2" (10-10362); 2× 1/2-13 × 4 1/8 × 6 3/4 × 1 1/2 square U-bolts (CM-1201-UBS); 2× 1/2-13 × 4 3/4 × 8 3/4 × 2 square U-bolts (CM-1202-UBS); 12× .188 × 1.00 × 2.00" U-shape spacers (CM-SP27); 4× 2.50 DIA. × .250" round hole spacers (CM-SP13); 1× .706 DIA. tube spacer (CM-TS); 1× 11GA electrical box bracket (CM-EBB); 2× cable tie mounts 1 × 1 UV black (CM-11-CTM); and 2× cable ties 11/64 × 15" 50# UV black (CM-116415-CT).
The manual specifies a 15/16" wrench for tightening the 5/8" flange nuts on the rear crossarm. A sabre saw is required for cutting the truck bed. A 21/32" drill bit and 1/8" drill bits are required for drilling. The manual does not provide a complete list of all tools needed, but standard installation tools such as a socket set, torque wrench, and drill are implied.
All 5/8" hardware must be torqued to 210 lb-ft. This applies to the six 5/8" carriage bolts that attach the C-52 to the crossarms, and to all other 5/8" fasteners after the C-52 has been fastened.
All 1/2" hardware must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. When torquing the U-bolts, tighten them slowly, alternating between the top and bottom of the U-bolt until equally tightened to a maximum of 40 ft-lbs.
All 3/4" hardware must be torqued to 380 lb-ft.
U-bolts are 1/2" hardware and must be torqued to a maximum of 40 ft-lbs. When torquing, tighten them slowly, alternating between the top and bottom of the U-bolt until equally tightened.
Install crossarms by sliding them into the gap between the truck bed and frame from inside the wheel well. Rotate the crossarms until they contact the truck bed. Use the provided tube spacer (CM-TS) to achieve the correct distance between the crossarms. Center the rear crossarm studs in the side plate slots. Use a 15/16" wrench to tighten the 5/8" flange nuts on the rear crossarm to the side plates. Repeat for both sides. Do not fully tighten the crossarms until the center section (C-52) installation is complete.
On 2500 and 3500 new body styles, remove the electrical box from inside the driver side frame rail by removing two bolts from outside the frame. Hang the side plates from the 5/8" studs that extend from the crossarms. Align the 3/4" hole in the side plate with the existing slot in the frame. The U-bolt holes should point toward the front of the truck. On short bed and 1 ton applications, the center cut-out of the side plate will straddle the truck bed frame rail. Fasten each plate with two 5/8" flange nuts provided, finger tight only. Then use a 3/4" hex bolt along with a U-bolt to fasten the side plate to the frame rail. On 2500 and 3500 new body trucks, attach the Curt supplied electrical box bracket (CM-EBB) to the 3/4" bolt on the inside of the frame on the driver side, and re-attach the electrical box to the supplied bracket with the existing M8 bolts. Keep all fasteners finger tight until final torquing.
Rotate the crossarms until they contact the truck bed and use the provided tube spacer to achieve the correct distance between them. Center the rear crossarm studs in the side plate slots. Ensure the crossarms are vertical to the truck bed before drilling. With crossarms secure and evenly spaced, drill a hole through the truck bed at the center of each crossarm mounting hole.
From inside the truck bed, center the six pilot holes with the letter "A" on the C-52 cutting template. Fasten the template to the truck bed with tape. Once fastened, drill four 1/8" pilot holes through section lettered "B". Be sure to check for brake lines and/or fuel lines before drilling. After pilot holes are drilled, use a sabre saw to cut out section "C". Remove the template and drill out the six holes with a 21/32" drill bit. Set the C-52 folding hitch ball into place.
Attach the C-52 to the crossarms using six 5/8" carriage bolts and flange nuts. Spacers must be installed at all bolt locations to prevent truck bed corrugations from collapsing. Torque the bolts to 210 lb-ft.
Keep all fasteners finger tight during the initial assembly steps. Do not fully tighten the crossarms until the center section (C-52) installation is complete. After the C-52 has been fastened to the crossarms, torque all 5/8" hardware to 210 lb-ft, all 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft, and all 3/4" hardware to 380 lb-ft.
Spacers serve two purposes: (1) The tube spacer (CM-TS) is used to achieve the correct distance between the crossarms when rotating them to contact the truck bed. (2) The U-shape spacers (CM-SP27) and round hole spacers (CM-SP13) must be installed at all bolt locations where the C-52 attaches to the truck bed to prevent truck bed corrugations from collapsing. Shim bolts as needed between the C-52 and truck bed and/or between the truck bed and crossarms at all bolt locations.
The manual includes instructions for vacuum canister relocation, but does not explicitly state whether this is required for all applications or only some. If relocation is necessary, remove the vacuum canister from its OEM mount, clean the surface with rubbing alcohol, apply two cable tie mounts approximately 3" apart and 5"-6" lower than the original location, insert cable ties into the mounts without fastening, position the vacuum canister over the cable ties, and fasten in the new location.
The Curt 61341 is rated for a 30,000 lbs GTW (Gross Trailer Weight). However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
Before towing, reference the clearance calculator on page 4 of the manual to ensure your trailer will not interfere with the cab of your truck. The clearance calculation uses the distance from the cab to the ball center, the trailer coupler width (or coupler overhang if applicable), and the trailer width. If the result is negative, the trailer will interfere with the cab. Additionally, removal of rear window accessories may be required on some vehicles.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This is especially important before towing.
The manual states: "PERIODICALLY CHECK THIS RECEIVER HITCH TO ENSURE THAT ALL FASTENERS ARE TIGHT AND THAT ALL STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS ARE SOUND." The manual does not specify an exact interval, but periodic inspection before towing is recommended.
The 61341 fits 99-06 and 07 Classic Chevy-GMC 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton trucks, and 07-08 New Body Style 3/4 and 1 ton HD Series in long and short bed. Confirm your model year, cab style, bed length, and tonnage.
No. The C-52 folding hitch ball must be purchased separately.
Yes. The spare tire must be removed before installation begins.
Yes. You must drill pilot holes and final holes into the truck bed, and cut out a section of the bed with a sabre saw. Heat shields must also be modified or removed on all models.
Torque 5/8" hardware to 210 lb-ft, 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft (U-bolts max 40 ft-lbs), and 3/4" hardware to 380 lb-ft. Tighten U-bolts slowly, alternating top and bottom.
The kit is rated for 30,000 lbs GTW, but do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Use the clearance calculator on page 4. Measure cab-to-ball distance, trailer coupler width, and trailer width. If the result is negative, the trailer will interfere with the cab.
