Choosing the right gooseneck hitch is only half the battle in preparing your pickup truck for towing a gooseneck trailer. CURT gooseneck hitches are a premium option in the heavy-duty towing industry, but they are only one of the members in the heavyweight tag team that is CURT gooseneck towing. While a gooseneck hitch gets all the glory above the floor of your truck bed, gooseneck installation brackets provide sure footing and a solid foundation for that oversized gooseneck trailer. Gooseneck installation brackets work by bolting onto the frame of your truck, typically using pre-existing holes. With a set of brackets firmly bolted on, a gooseneck hitch is able to be attached and is given the strength it needs to manage the massive amount of weight of a gooseneck trailer. With so many gooseneck hitch options available from CURT, we wanted to make sure we offered the gooseneck installation products needed to give you a complete towing package. Our installation brackets fit multiple vehicles and hitch heads. This particular set of over-bed gooseneck installation brackets is designed to fit multiple CURT gooseneck hitches and provide a custom fit on certain years of the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or 3500 or GMC Sierra 2500HD or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). It has a maximum weight capacity of 30,000 lbs., includes grade-8 mounting hardware for a complete installation and features laser-cut construction for a precise fit.

CURT offers a variety of high-quality trailer hitches and accessories for select vehicle models. Find the perfect fit for your towing needs at TowUniverse.

Yes, the CURT Over-Bed Gooseneck Installation Brackets, Select Silverado, Sierra 2500, 3500 HD Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Mount Kit (Part #BKDK61301) is designed to fit the 2011-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD.
The CURT Over-Bed Gooseneck Installation Brackets, Select Silverado, Sierra 2500, 3500 HD Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Mount Kit (Part #BKDK61301) Drilling is not required for installation. Typical installation time is . Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Curt 61301 is designed for 2011-current Chevrolet and GMC 3/4 ton HD and 1 ton trucks in both long bed and short bed configurations. The kit uses different mounting hole sets depending on bed length, so you must confirm your truck's bed length before installation. The kit does not fit other truck models or years.
The kit is rated for 30,000 lbs GTW (Gross Trailer Weight). However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the kit's rating. Check your truck's owner's manual for the maximum towing capacity your specific model and year supports.
No. The C-52 gooseneck hitch is sold separately and must be purchased in addition to the 61301 kit. The kit provides the crossarms and mounting hardware; the C-52 is the actual hitch head that attaches to the crossarms.
The kit includes: 1 tube spacer (CM-TS), 12 U-shape spacers (CM-SP27), 2 pieces of 5/8" fishwire, 8 5/8"-11 UNC grade 8 flange nuts (20-00063), 4 5/8"-11 UNC grade 8 carriage bolts 1-3/4" long (10-10292), and 4 square hole spacers (CM-SP9). Additional 5/8" carriage bolts and flange nuts are needed to attach the C-52 hitch (6 bolts and nuts) and to complete frame rail connections.
Yes. The manual specifies that the spare tire must be removed for ease of installation. This is the first step in the installation process.
Yes. All models require modification or removal of heat shields. Specifically, heat shields between the bed supports on the passenger side of the vehicle must be trimmed out. This is required on every vehicle, regardless of bed length.
Yes. The manual warns that brake, fuel, and electrical lines may need to be loosened or repositioned to provide clearance for new hardware. Before drilling, you must check for brake and fuel lines to avoid damaging them. If lines are in the way, reposition them before proceeding.
Removal of rear window accessories may be required, depending on your truck's configuration and the trailer you plan to tow. This is not a universal requirement but should be checked during installation if clearance is tight.
Yes. Drilling is required in two stages. First, you must drill a 1/8" pilot hole through the truck bed at each crossarm mounting location (step 6). Then, using the C-52 cutting template, you drill four 1/8" pilot holes and six 21/32" holes through the truck bed for the C-52 hitch attachment (steps 7 and 9). Before drilling, you must check for brake and fuel lines.
Yes. You must cut out section 'C' from the truck bed using a saw (step 8). Additionally, the bed lip extending below the truck bed must be cut to allow the crossarms to slide into position (step 3). Cutting of bed rail supports may be necessary on some models (step 8).
The C-52 cutting template is a guide for drilling and cutting the truck bed to accommodate the C-52 gooseneck hitch. From inside the truck bed, center the six pilot holes marked with the letter 'A' on the template with the corresponding holes. Fasten the template to the bed with tape. Then drill four 1/8" pilot holes through the section marked 'B', and after removing the template, cut out section 'C' with a saw. Finally, drill out the six holes with a 21/32" drill bit.
Insert the crossarms into the gap between the truck bed and frame from inside the wheel well. The front crossarm is 42 1/4" long and the rear is 41 11/16" long. First cut the bed lip to allow them to slide into position. Align the side plates with the existing frame rail holes (different holes for long vs. short bed). Use 5/8" fishwire carriage bolts and CM-SP9 spacers through the inside of the frame rail and secure with 5/8" hex flange nuts. Then rotate the crossarms until they contact the truck bed, using the provided tube spacer to achieve correct spacing. Center the threaded crossarm studs in the side plate slots. Do not tighten until the center section installation is complete.
The tube spacer (CM-TS) is used to achieve the correct distance between the crossarms when they are rotated to contact the truck bed (step 5). It helps ensure proper spacing and alignment before final tightening.
Spacers must be installed at all bolt locations to prevent truck bed corrugations from collapsing. The manual specifies shimming bolts as needed between the C-52 and truck bed and between the truck bed and crossarms at all bolt locations. This distributes the load and protects the bed structure.
All 5/8" hardware on the Curt 61301 is torqued to 210 lb-ft. This applies to: the bolts attaching the C-52 to the crossarms (step 10), the bolts connecting the crossarms to the side plates (step 11), and the bolts connecting the side plates to the vehicle frame (step 12).
The kit uses 5/8"-11 UNC grade 8 bolts and nuts throughout. The carriage bolts included are 1-3/4" long (part 10-10292). The flange nuts are grade 8 (part 20-00063). All 5/8" hardware is torqued to 210 lb-ft.
Do not tighten the crossarm bolts until the center section (C-52) installation is complete. The tightening sequence is: (1) Attach the C-52 to the crossarms with 6 bolts and torque to 210 lb-ft (step 10); (2) Torque the bolts connecting crossarms to side plates to 210 lb-ft (step 11); (3) Torque the bolts connecting side plates to the vehicle frame to 210 lb-ft (step 12).
Before drilling, ensure the crossarms are vertical to the truck bed and evenly spaced. The threaded crossarm studs must be centered in the side plate slots (visible when the flange nut covers the slot). Once the crossarms are secure and properly aligned, you can proceed with drilling the pilot holes through the truck bed.
The 1/8" pilot holes serve two purposes: First, a pilot hole is drilled through the truck bed at the center of each crossarm mounting hole to mark the location (step 6). Second, four 1/8" pilot holes are drilled through section 'B' of the C-52 cutting template to guide the saw cut (step 7). These pilot holes help ensure accurate drilling and cutting.
After the template is removed, the six holes are drilled out with a 21/32" drill bit (step 9). These holes accommodate the 5/8" carriage bolts that attach the C-52 hitch to the crossarms.
The manual provides a clearance calculation formula on page 3. Measure the distance from the cab to the hitch ball center (X), the trailer coupler width or overhang (Y or W), and the trailer width (Z). Use the formula: (X) - (Y) = (Z) for standard trailers, or [(X) - (W)] - (Y) = (Z) for trailers with overhang. If the result is positive, the trailer will not interfere with the cab. If negative, the trailer will interfere. The manual recommends referencing the clearance calculator before towing. Generally, 8 ft. wide trailers taper to 6 ft. at the coupler, and 7 ft. wide trailers taper to 5 ft.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Although the Curt 61301 is rated for 30,000 lbs GTW, your truck may have a lower maximum towing capacity. Check your truck's owner's manual or manufacturer specifications to determine the safe towing limit for your specific model and year.

The Curt 61301 fits 2011-current Chevrolet and GMC 3/4 ton HD and 1 ton trucks in long bed and short bed configurations. Confirm your truck's bed length, as the kit uses different mounting holes for each.
No. The C-52 gooseneck hitch is sold separately. The 61301 kit provides the crossarms and mounting hardware only.
Yes. You must drill pilot holes and final 21/32" holes through the truck bed, cut the bed lip, and cut out a section of the bed using the C-52 template. Bed rail support cutting may also be necessary on some models.
Yes. Heat shields between the bed supports on the passenger side must be trimmed out on all models. The spare tire must be removed for installation ease.
All 5/8" bolts are torqued to 210 lb-ft. This includes bolts attaching the C-52 to crossarms, crossarms to side plates, and side plates to the frame.
The kit is rated for 30,000 lbs GTW, but you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
Use the clearance calculation formula on page 3: measure cab-to-ball distance, trailer coupler width, and trailer width, then calculate using the provided formula. If the result is positive, the trailer clears the cab. Reference the clearance calculator before towing.
