The vehicle taillight connectors are located underneath the vehicle on the frame below the bottom of the taillight opening on both the driver side and passenger side. They will be similar in appearance to the connectors on the RV harness.
Position the RV harness connector ends (yellow wires on the driver side, green wires on the passenger side) between the separated vehicle harness connectors. A fishwire is a tool used to push or pull an electrical wire through a blind hole. It can be made from a cut-up wire hanger, stiff wire, rope, or string. Insert the fishwire through the blind hole and locate it on the other side. Use tape to secure the harness to the fishwire and pull back up. If the fishwire gets hung up, you may need to push back down, wiggle it around, or twist the wire to loosen it.
Secure the RV harness to the existing factory wire harness with the provided cable ties. When routing the 4-flat portion, leave the cable ties loose until the 4-flat end can be secured in the engine compartment. The area where you will secure the ground wire must be free from rust, dirt, and paint. Use an abrasive pad or paper to remove rust and paint from the frame. You can then secure the white ground wire with the ring terminal to an existing screw or bolt, or to a new 3/32" pilot hole using the provided ground screw.
Route the 4-flat to a flat surface in the engine compartment and locate a suitable position to mount the 4-flat bracket. Using the bracket as a template, mark the two holes, drill two 3/32" holes, and attach the bracket using the two provided screws. Secure the 4-flat to the frame rail with a cable tie.
