The CURT 58910 is an RV harness with a 4-flat connector that allows you to connect an RV or trailer to your truck's electrical system. It taps into your truck's taillight circuits to provide signal, tail, and running lights for your towed vehicle. The harness includes connectors for both driver and passenger side rear bumper locations (T3 and T5).
The kit includes an RV harness with connectors for both sides of the vehicle, a 4-flat connector bracket, a white ground wire with ring terminal, screws for mounting the bracket and grounding, cable ties for securing the harness, and a 4-flat dust cover to prevent corrosion.
The CURT 58910 is designed for trucks with taillight connectors located underneath the vehicle on the frame near the bottom of the taillight opening on both sides. It uses wiring locations T3 (driver side rear bumper) and T5 (passenger side rear bumper). Verify your truck has accessible taillight connectors in these locations before purchasing. Consult your vehicle owner's manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer for compatibility confirmation.
The installation instructions require routing the RV harness with green wire connectors across the frame rail and over the spare tire to reach the passenger side taillight connector (T5). If your spare tire is mounted on the rear bumper, you will need to verify that the harness can be routed over it without obstruction. You will need a fishwire to route the 4-flat connector from the rear of the vehicle to the engine compartment. You will also need a drill with a 3/32" bit to create pilot holes for mounting the bracket and grounding screw. A screwdriver is needed to secure fasteners. A test light is not required to complete installation, but the manual recommends testing for proper function after installation using a test light or by connecting a properly equipped tow vehicle. This step verifies that all connections are working correctly before towing.
Locate the vehicle taillight connectors underneath the vehicle on the frame near the bottom of the taillight opening on both sides. Slide the red lock on the connector and carefully separate the vehicle connectors, taking care not to damage the locking tabs. Inspect the connectors for dirt and debris and clean if necessary before proceeding with installation.
Starting on the driver side, position the RV harness connector ends containing yellow wires between the separated vehicle harness connectors. Press the connectors firmly into the vehicle connectors until they lock into place. Slide the red lock on the factory connector. Pull on the connectors to ensure the locks are engaged. Repeat this process on the passenger side with the green wire connectors.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame. The area should be free of rust, dirt and paint. If no suitable existing screw is available, drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided screw. Secure the white ground wire using the ring terminal and provided screw.
Cut the cable ties on the 4-flat portion of the harness and route it towards the front of the vehicle along the factory wire harness and frame rail, securing with cable ties. Continue routing towards the driver-side front wheel well. From inside the engine compartment, route a fishwire down and over the top of the driver-side wheel well (you may need to remove clips and screws from the wheel well cover). Secure the 4-flat to the fishwire and pull it up into the engine compartment.
Route the 4-flat to a flat surface in the engine compartment and locate a suitable position to mount the bracket. Using the bracket as a template, mark the two holes and drill two 3/32" pilot holes. Attach the bracket using the two remaining screws provided in the kit. Secure the 4-flat to the frame rail with a cable tie.

Do not exceed the product rating or tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.
After installation, test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly equipped tow vehicle. This verifies that all signal, tail, and running light circuits are functioning correctly before towing. Ensure all connections are secure and the 4-flat dust cover is installed.
Secure any excess wire so it is not drooping or dangling, but not so tight that it causes unnecessary strain which could lead to breakage. Tighten any cable ties and add as needed. Use a cable tie to fasten any excess wire to a solid spot along the driver-side inner fender. Reinstall all items removed during installation. If the negative battery terminal was disconnected, reconnect it. Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
Periodic inspection of all wires and connections should be performed to ensure there is no visible damage or loose connections. This helps maintain proper function and prevents electrical issues. The 4-flat dust cover should remain installed to help prevent corrosion of the connector.
