Remove trim covers from cargo tie-down points using a flathead screwdriver, then remove the cargo tie-downs using a 7mm socket. Use a panel trim removal tool to release push fasteners securing the skid plate and separate the hatch sensor connector. Remove side panel pockets. These steps expose the interior routing path for the harness.
Use a panel trim removal tool to loosen the sidewall panels and locate the taillight housing. Separate the taillight connectors carefully without damaging the locking tabs. Install the housing with the yellow wire positioned between the separated connectors. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Repeat this process on the passenger side with the green wire.

Loosen the 10mm fasteners securing felt skid plates from the rear of the fuel tank to just behind the front tire, then route the 4-flat between the body and skid plates, securing with zip ties. Route it over the rear of the driver-side front wheel well, using fish wire to pull it up between the inner and outer fender to the engine compartment. Fish wire is a tool to push or pull electrical wire through a blind hole. It can be made from cut-up wire hanger, stiff wire, rope, or string. Make sure it is long enough to stick out on the other side. Insert it through the blind hole and locate it on the other side. Use tape to secure the harness to the fish wire and pull back up. If the fish wire or harness gets hung up, push back down, wiggle it around, or twist the wire to loosen it.
