Towing your vehicle behind your RV is a great way to experience more of the adventure on your cross-country excursions. Whether you're towing a compact car or a full-size truck, CURT has the perfect solution to help you Bring It! CURT towed-vehicle RV harnesses are a vehicle-specific, plug-and-play solution to wiring your vehicle for dinghy towing. They use original-equipment-compatible connectors to plug into your vehicle's wiring system without any cutting, splicing or soldering required. They provide a standard 4-way flat connector to plug into the RV socket and synchronize the vehicle's tail lights, turn signals and brake lights with the RV's. Because each towed-vehicle RV harness has a vehicle-specific design, installation is fast and easy. This particular RV dinghy towing wiring harness is designed for specific years of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD. CURT RV harnesses are also built to provide long-lasting operation. They feature integrated block diodes that protect the vehicle's circuits from the RV signals. They isolate the sensitive vehicle electronics, keeping them from overheating and short circuiting. Every CURT towed-vehicle RV harness comes ready to install with all necessary hardware included. They also come with a 4-way flat extension to provide plenty of length to plug into the RV socket, as well as a connector mounting bracket to mount the connector on the vehicle.

Part 52107 is a Curt Manufacturing trailer wiring harness. It provides electrical connections to allow a towed trailer's lights to function in sync with the towing vehicle's lights. The harness connects to the vehicle's electrical system and routes to a 4-flat connector at the front of the truck for trailer attachment.
The manual specifies this harness is designed for trucks with wiring locations at T3 (driver side rear bumper) and T5 (passenger side rear bumper). The manual does not list specific vehicle makes, models, or years. Contact Curt Manufacturing or consult a fitment database to confirm compatibility with your vehicle.
You will need: a flathead screwdriver, a drill, a cutting tool, and a 3/32" drill bit. You will also need fish wire or an equivalent (such as a cut-up wire hanger, stiff wire, rope or string) to route the harness through the wheel well, and zip ties to secure the harness along the frame.
The manual shows a Hardware Photo on page 1 but does not itemize the contents. Based on the installation steps, the kit includes a white ground wire with a ring terminal, a customer harness with yellow and green wires, and a ground screw. Refer to the hardware photo in the manual or contact Curt Manufacturing for a complete parts list.
Yes. Step 1 requires you to locate the vehicle battery in the engine compartment on the passenger side and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Fasten this wire down and away from the battery during installation to prevent accidental reconnection.
Before drilling, check for miscellaneous items that may be hidden behind or under any surface to avoid damage and/or personal injury. This is especially important when drilling the 3/32" pilot hole for the ground screw in Step 4.
In Step 2, locate the electrical connector between the frame rail and spare tire on the driver side of the vehicle, under the vehicle. Separate the connectors carefully without damaging the locking tabs, then install the customer harness with the yellow wire in-between the separated connectors.
In Step 3, route the connector with the green wire to the passenger side of the vehicle. Repeat the same process as Step 2 (separating the connectors and installing the harness between them).
Drilling may be required. In Step 4, you should first locate an existing screw or bolt in the vehicle frame to use as a grounding point. If no suitable existing fastener is available, drill a 3/32" pilot hole. The area must be free from rust, dirt, and paint; use an abrasive pad or paper to clean it. Secure the white ground wire with the ring terminal on the existing fastener or with the provided ground screw.
A 3/32" drill bit is required to create the pilot hole for the ground screw, as specified in the Tools Required section and Step 4.
Route the 4-flat harness in this sequence: (Step 5) above the frame and bed along the passenger-side frame rail to the front of the truck; (Step 6) above and along the frame rail to just behind the passenger-side front wheel, securing loosely with zip ties; (Step 7) to the rear of the passenger-side wheel well; (Step 8) through the wheel well using a fish wire pulled from the engine compartment; (Step 9) under the outer fender mounts and around the washer fluid tank, mounting to the passenger-side front core support.
Fish wire is a method to push or pull an electrical wire through a blind hole. In Step 8, pull back the rubber filler in the engine compartment on the passenger side next to the hood hinge and run a fish wire down between the inner and outer fender. Pull the wheel well panel back and locate the end of the fish wire. Use tape to secure the harness to the fish wire and pull it back up to the engine compartment. If the wire gets hung up, you may need to push back down, wiggle it around, or twist the wire to loosen it. Fish wire can be made from a cut-up wire hanger, stiff wire, rope or string.
In Step 6, loosely secure the harness with zip ties just behind the passenger-side front wheel, leaving room for later adjustment. In Step 10, after pulling all excess wire so it is not drooping or dangling but not too tight (to avoid unnecessary strain and potential breakage), tighten any zip ties and add as needed. Use zip ties to fasten any excess wire to a solid spot like the outer fender mount.
In Step 10, pull all excess wire so that it is not drooping or dangling, but do not pull it too tight as this can cause unnecessary strain to the wire and could cause breakage over time. After removing slack from the 4-flat wire, tighten any zip ties and add as needed.
The manual identifies three wires: yellow (installed at the driver side connector in Step 2), green (installed at the passenger side connector in Step 3), and white (the ground wire with a ring terminal, secured in Step 4). The manual does not specify the function of each wire color. Refer to Curt Manufacturing documentation or a wiring diagram for detailed wire function information.
The manual does not specify a weight or towing capacity rating for part 52107. The warning states: 'Do not exceed product rating or tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.' Contact Curt Manufacturing for the product's specific capacity rating.
Do not lay tools across the positive battery terminal (typically noted with red covers or a red '+' symbol). This can cause a ground short, resulting in sparks and/or electrical shocks. When disconnecting the negative battery terminal in Step 1, fasten this wire down and away from the battery during installation to prevent accidental reconnection.
After connecting the 12-volt power wire to the harness, verify that the harness is functioning by attaching the battery and testing with a test light, 4-flat tester, or a functioning trailer. The taillights on the vehicle to be towed should function along with the taillights on the vehicle that is powering them.
Periodic inspection of all wires and connections should be performed to ensure there is no visible damage or loose connections. This helps maintain proper function and safety of the trailer wiring system.
The 52107 is designed for trucks with wiring locations at the driver and passenger side rear bumpers (T3 and T5). Confirm your vehicle's compatibility with Curt Manufacturing or a fitment database before purchasing.
You need a flathead screwdriver, drill, cutting tool, 3/32" drill bit, fish wire (or wire hanger, rope, or string), and zip ties.
Yes. Disconnect the negative battery terminal in the engine compartment on the passenger side before beginning installation, and fasten the wire down and away from the battery.
Drilling may be required only for the ground screw. First try to locate an existing screw or bolt in the frame. If none is available, drill a 3/32" pilot hole in a clean, rust-free area and use the provided ground screw.
Use a fish wire (or wire hanger, rope, or string) pulled from the engine compartment down between the inner and outer fender. Tape the harness to the fish wire and pull it back up through the wheel well to the engine compartment.
The manual does not specify a capacity rating. Do not exceed the product rating or tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Contact Curt Manufacturing for the specific capacity.
Periodically inspect all wires and connections for visible damage or loose connections.
The fish wire or harness may get hung up on something during routing. If this happens, you may have to push back down, wiggle it around, or twist the wire to loosen it from what it is hung up on. Ensure the fish wire is long enough to stick out on the other side before attempting to pull it through.
