At CURT, we recognize the importance of safe and dependable towing experiences. That's why we developed an innovative electronic sway control system that prevents sway in various situations such as emergency maneuvers, adverse road conditions and heavy winds. Our system is compatible with multiple truck types, ensuring a reliable solution for all drivers. Our state-of-the-art sway control system is capable of bypassing the trailer braking controller, functioning independently of the driver to restrict trailer sway in emergency scenarios. It features unique motion-sensing technology that detects trailer movements not controlled by the weight distribution hitch. Our advanced patent-pending microprocessor technology can quickly and safely activate the trailer brakes to minimize sway, providing a safer towing experience. Our system is also compatible with both OneControl RV and Auto apps that links to your smartphone wirelessly via Bluetooth®. This implies that drivers can receive real-time updates and notifications regarding the system's status on their smartphones. The Bluetooth® connection of the app transmits critical alerts to the driver, keeping them informed of the system's operation. To ensure the dependability and effectiveness of our system, we have tested it extensively on various vehicles from several manufacturers. This testing guarantees compatibility with original equipment trucks, providing drivers with peace of mind that our sway control system is a trustworthy and secure solution for their towing needs. With True Course's cutting-edge technology and thorough testing, drivers can have confidence in a safer and more secure towing experience.

Lippert is a global manufacturer and supplier of engineered components for the RV, marine, automotive, commercial vehicle and building products industries. Its aftermarket range spans chassis and axles, suspension, automated leveling systems, slide-out mechanisms, entry steps, awnings, furniture and towing products, sold both as original equipment and as upgrades for existing vehicles.
Lippert is one of the largest suppliers of engineered components to the recreational vehicle industry and a substantial presence in marine, automotive, commercial vehicle and building products as well. If you own a travel trailer or fifth wheel, a considerable share of what sits beneath and inside it is likely to carry a Lippert part number, from the frame the unit is built on through to the furniture in the living area. That breadth is the defining fact about the company, and it is also why its aftermarket business matters: the same engineering that supplied the original equipment supports it years later.
Chassis and running gear form the foundation. Lippert supplies spring and torsion axles for cargo, horse and utility trailers, together with suspension systems, equalizers, shackles and the components that wear out and get replaced over a trailer's life.
Automated systems are where the brand is most visible to owners. Power leveling systems bring a coach level at the touch of a button, and the wider leveling and stabilisation range covers manual jacks and stabilisers as well. Slide-out mechanisms, motors and seals keep living space extending and retracting reliably, and motorized entry steps replace folding steps with powered assemblies that deploy with the door.
Outdoor living is covered by patio and window awnings, slide toppers, screen rooms and shade accessories. On the towing side, Lippert manufactures American-made custom-fit hitches and a full line of towing products, and its marine division produces boating furniture, glass and shade systems in the United States.
The company operates as a house of brands, with names including CURT, UWS, Luverne, Ranch Hand, Furrion, Solera, Thomas Payne, Taylor Made, Lewmar and SureShade sitting under it, each retaining its own engineering focus.

The CURT 51202 is a trailer sway control system that detects and actively manages trailer sway during towing. It connects between your tow vehicle and trailer via 7-way connectors and uses a mobile app (OneControl® Auto for trailers or OneControl® RV for RVs) to monitor system status and receive real-time notifications. The module is controlled by Bluetooth and requires connection to both the tow vehicle and trailer brake system.
No. The manual explicitly states the 51202 is not compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. If your trailer uses this brake type, this product is not suitable for your application.
You will need: a cordless or electric drill or screwgun, a 1/8" drill bit, drive bits, and a marker. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty level.
The kit includes one control module, four 1/4" self-tapping screws, and one owner's tag. The owner's tag contains the 6-digit PIN and Bluetooth information needed for app pairing.
Mount the module on the roadside trailer frame. Before positioning it for marking, ensure there is adequate length on the attached front 7-way cord to connect to the tow vehicle. The module must be mounted horizontal and level to the top of the frame where it is installed. Failure to mount it level may cause the unit to not function as intended.
1. Hold the control module against the roadside trailer frame and mark the locations for four pilot holes, ensuring the 7-way cord has adequate length to reach the tow vehicle. 2. Using a 1/8" drill bit, drill pilot holes for the four 1/4" self-tapping screws. 3. Install the screws to secure the module to the frame, ensuring it is level to the top of the frame. 4. Connect the attached 7-way cord to the tow vehicle. 5. Attach the trailer's 7-way connector to the back of the control module.
Yes. You must drill four pilot holes using a 1/8" drill bit at the marked locations on the trailer frame. These holes are for the four 1/4" self-tapping screws that secure the module to the frame.
The module has two 7-way connections: (1) an attached 7-way cord that connects to the tow vehicle, and (2) a 7-way connector port on the back of the module that receives the trailer's 7-way connector. Both connections must be properly seated for the system to function. The tow vehicle must have the engine running or the 7-way plug must have power during setup.
The proper operating voltage range is 9 to 16 volts. The module is powered by both the tow vehicle and trailer battery through the 7-way connection. If the LED shows a low or high voltage condition, verify the battery connection and ensure the voltage is within this range.
No. The manual explicitly warns: Do not use the module as a step for the trailer. Stepping on the module may damage the system. Additionally, moving parts can pinch, crush or cut, so keep clear at all times.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. This is the primary safety requirement for safe operation of the towing system.
Periodic inspection of your product should be performed to ensure all hardware and components remain secure. Verify that the four 1/4" self-tapping screws are tight, the module is level to the trailer frame, and both 7-way connections (to tow vehicle and trailer) are properly seated.
Download the appropriate app (OneControl® Auto for trailers or OneControl® RV for RVs) from Apple App Store or Google Play. Create or connect to an account, then tap the + icon (RV) or 'Pair Device' button (Auto) and select 'Search for Devices'. When found, select the device and tap 'connect'. Enter the 6-digit PIN from the owner's tag or the bottom of the module. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the 7-way connections are powered (engine running or 7-way plug has power).
The 6-digit PIN is located in two places: on the owner's tag that comes with the module, or on the bottom of the device itself. You will need this PIN to finalize pairing with the OneControl® app.
No, the 51202 is not compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes.
Mount it on the roadside trailer frame, level to the top of the frame, with adequate 7-way cord length to reach the tow vehicle.
The module is powered by both the tow vehicle and trailer battery through the 7-way connection. Operating voltage range is 9 to 16 volts.
No. Do not use the module as a step—stepping on it may damage the system.
The unit is not powered and not active. Activate the trailer brakes to turn on the unit. If the unit is in low power mode, activate the tow vehicle brake to wake it. If the LED remains off, verify the 7-way connection to the unit is secure, as the unit is powered by the tow vehicle and trailer battery through the 7-way.
Yes, this is normal. The LED is showing that wake-up self-checks are in progress. No action is required. Once complete, the light will show solid green, indicating the unit is awake and monitoring for sway.
Yes, this is normal operation. The solid green LED indicates the unit is awake and monitoring for sway. Every 5 seconds, the green LED briefly turns off for a fraction of a second—this indicates the unit is functional.
The True Course™ module has detected a sway event and is actively managing it. After the sway event subsides, the LED will return to solid green.
A low voltage condition has been detected. Check the battery connection and verify the battery voltage is within the proper operating range of 9 to 16 volts.
The voltage is too low for True Course™ operation. Although the battery may read within normal range, the module detected a voltage drop during its power check. Ensure the battery is fully charged.
A high voltage condition has been detected. Check the battery connection and verify the battery voltage is within the proper operating range of 9 to 16 volts. Also check all connections at the module and tow vehicle.
A short to 12 volt has been detected on the brake actuator output. Verify the breakaway switch is not activated and that the blue brake wire is not shorted to 12 volt.
The module is not connected to the trailer brakes. Verify the blue brake wire is connected to the trailer brakes and that the 7-way connector is properly seated in the unit.
A short to ground has been detected on the brake wire output. Verify the blue brake wire is not shorted to ground or the trailer frame. If the issue persists, disconnect the harness and wait 10 seconds, then reconnect.
An internal load check issue has been detected. Check the 7-way connection to the module and to the tow vehicle, ensuring the pins are making good contact. If the issue persists, disconnect the harness and wait 10 seconds, then reconnect.
Trailer light issues have been detected. Verify that all trailer lamps are functional.
A module hardware issue has been detected. Disconnect the module completely, then reconnect. If the issue persists, bypass the module with the trailer 7-way and plug directly into the tow vehicle. If problems continue, contact CURT technical support.
The unit is not functional. Disconnect the harness from the tow vehicle and disconnect the trailer harness. Wait 10 seconds, then reconnect. If the light becomes solid red again, unplug the unit and contact the CURT service department.
The unit is in reflash mode. If reflashing was requested, wait for the process to complete. If reflashing was not requested, disconnect the module and wait 10 seconds.
This indicates an active Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection. Wait for the LED codes to finish to allow the process to complete.
The module is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Wait for the LED codes to finish to allow the pairing process to complete.
