Aluminum step pads with circular treads for a long-lasting, non-skid step

Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular O-Mega II side step fits specific years of the Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583254 and 584254) are universal application running steps. The kit includes one aluminum extrusion (available in silver part 553069 or black part 553057, 51 inches long), two step pads, two end caps, eight square head screws, eight serrated flange nuts, and twelve TEK screws for pad attachment.
The O-MEGA II steps are listed as a universal application, but you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle to mount the brackets correctly. The bracket package is vehicle-specific and must be purchased separately.
Grip Steps model 401473 are designed specifically for 2014-newer RAM ProMaster vans and mount to the passenger cargo door only. They are not a universal application.
The manual specifies drilling 1/8" pilot holes for step pad attachment. You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit. The manual does not specify other tools required, such as wrenches or sockets for tightening fasteners.
You will need a drill with an 11/32" bit for pinch weld holes and a 1/4" bit for floor holes (if using self-tapping screws). A clamp is needed to secure the bracket during marking. The manual does not specify other tools such as wrenches for final tightening.
Yes. Some undercoating may need to be scraped off so the bracket will sit flat with the pinch weld. This is necessary to ensure proper bracket seating during installation.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" pilot holes in each step pad using the holes in the step pad as a guide. These pilot holes are used to attach the step pads to the step plates with TEK screws.
Yes. You must drill two holes in the pinch weld using an 11/32" drill bit and two holes in the floor of the van using a 1/4" drill bit (if using self-tapping screws). Alternatively, if you have access to ¼-20 riv-nut type fasteners, you can use those instead of self-tapping screws.
1. Place step pads on top of step plates. 2. Drill five 1/8" pilot holes using the step pad holes as a guide. 3. Attach pads with five #8-18×1/2" TEK screws. 4. Install square head screws into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 5. Install end caps and tighten serrated nuts to 5 LB FT. 6. Position the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered side to side. 7. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Position the step so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered side to side on the vehicle. Then install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
1. Clamp the forward bracket to the inside of the pinch weld, scraping off undercoating as needed. 2. Mark the center of two holes in the pinch weld and two holes in the floor. 3. Remove the bracket and drill the pinch weld holes with an 11/32" bit and floor holes with a 1/4" bit. 4. Install the bracket and fasten to the pinch weld using black 5/16-18 bolts, washers, nuts, and retainer plate; leave them loose. 5. Install the self-tapping screws and washers (or alternative fasteners). 6. Tighten all fasteners. 7. Repeat for the rear bracket.
Yes. When installing the bracket to the pinch weld, leave the black 5/16-18 bolts, washers, nuts, and retainer plate loose initially. Install the self-tapping screws or alternative fasteners first, then tighten all fasteners together.
The serrated nuts (item #5) that attach the end caps (item #3) must be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) that attach the square head screws (item #4) to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Five #8-18×1/2" TEK screws (item #6, stainless steel, bronze plated) are used to attach each step pad to the step plate. Pilot holes of 1/8" diameter are drilled first using the holes in the step pad as a guide.
Eight square head screws 5/16-18×1" (item #4, MagniGuard) are inserted into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. Eight 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5, stainless steel) are installed on these screws and tightened to 19 LB FT.
Black 5/16-18 bolts (item #4, M8-1.25×30mm, stainless steel, bronze plated) are used with washers (item #5, 5/16", bronze plated), hex flange nuts (item #6, M8-1.25×25mm, zinc plated), and a retainer plate (item #3, galvanized). These fasteners are left loose initially, then tightened after the floor fasteners are installed.
Either 5/16×3/4" self-tapping screws with zinc washers (items #7 and #8) or ¼-20×1.00" screws with zinc washers and lock washers (items #7, #9, and #10) can be used. The manual notes that ¼-20 riv-nut type fasteners could be used instead of self-tapping screws if you have access to them.
The aluminum extrusion is 51 inches long and 6 inches in diameter (oval profile). The step pads are 4.50 inches by 20.00 inches.
The plastic end caps (item #3) are 2.95 inches by 6.70 inches.
