The LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" rear step offers the ultimate in durability and aggressive style for work vans. It is built from lightweight, T6 aluminum construction, covered in a durable powder coat and finished with paintable TPO end caps. This step is just like our O-Mega II 6" oval side steps, only it is designed to mount on the rear of your commercial van or work van and provide convenient access to the cargo area. It features non-skid aluminum step pads that mount with self-tapping screws to allow for custom positioning. The step pads can be mounted to factory specifications or adjusted to personal preference. This rear step fits select model years of the Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: The mounting brackets for this step are included but shipped separately.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Step (models 583254, 584254) is a universal step assembly designed to mount to vehicle frame brackets. The step assembly includes a 51-inch aluminum extrusion (available in silver or black), two step pads, two end caps, square head screws, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws for pad attachment. The step itself does not include mounting brackets; you must purchase the appropriate bracket package for your specific vehicle.
Yes, the O-MEGA II step (models 583254, 584254) is compatible with 2014+ RAM ProMaster Vans when used with the model 571478 bracket package. You must use the bracket package specific to your vehicle; the step assembly alone is universal but requires the correct brackets for proper fitment and safety.
The manual provides installation instructions for the model 571478 bracket package, which is designed for 2014+ RAM ProMaster Vans. For other vehicles, you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using. Contact the manufacturer or your retailer to confirm which bracket package is correct for your vehicle make, model, and year.
The step assembly includes: one 51-inch aluminum extrusion (silver or black), two step pads (4.50 x 20.00), two plastic end caps, eight square head screws (5/16-18 x 1), eight serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and twelve TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2") for attaching the pads. The bracket package is sold separately and includes its own fasteners.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit to create pilot holes for the step pad attachment, and tools to tighten fasteners to the specified torque values (5 lb-ft for end cap nuts and 19 lb-ft for the main mounting nuts). Contact the manufacturer or your installer for a complete tool list.
For 2014+ RAM ProMaster Vans with the 571478 bracket package: yes. You must locate and remove the 10mm nut on the threaded stud under the frame rail (this nut will be reused), and remove the square body plugs at the bottom of the frame rails. You must also scrape any undercoating from the underside of the vehicle where the brackets will contact the frame.
Undercoating must be scraped from the underside of the vehicle where the bracket will touch the frame to ensure proper metal-to-metal contact and secure fastening. This prevents the bracket from sitting on a layer of coating, which could cause it to shift or loosen over time.
1. Attach step pads to the step extrusion by drilling 1/8" pilot holes and securing with TEK screws. 2. Install square head screws into the slots on the bottom of the step plates. 3. Install end caps and tighten serrated nuts to 5 lb-ft. 4. Mount the bracket package to your vehicle per the bracket-specific instructions. 5. Position the step on the mounted brackets so square head screws sit in the bracket slots and the step is centered side-to-side. 6. Install serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Place the step pads (item #2) on top of the step plates. Using the holes in the step pad as a guide, drill five 1/8" pilot holes. Attach each pad with five #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws (item #6). Repeat this process for all step pads.
Install the end caps (item #3) as shown in Figure 1, and tighten the serrated nuts (item #5) to 5 lb-ft. The manual references Figure 1 for the correct orientation and positioning of the end caps.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered side-to-side on the vehicle. This positioning ensures proper load distribution and alignment.
1. Locate the 10mm threaded stud under the frame rail and remove the nut (reuse this nut). 2. Remove the square body plugs at the bottom of the frame rails and scrape undercoating from the bracket contact area. 3. Install the T-bolt (item #5) into the hole with the long tab pointed toward the front of the vehicle. 4. Install the upper brackets (items #3, #4) on the T-bolt and factory stud using the existing 10mm nut and a 1/2-13 nut (item #6), then tighten. 5. Attach the lower brackets (items #1, #2) and load reaction stud bracket (item #10) to the upper bracket using 3/8-16 x 1.0 bolts, washers, and nuts (items #7, #8, #9). Keep these fasteners loose for final adjustment.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" pilot holes in the step extrusion to attach each step pad using the holes in the pad as a guide. No other drilling is required for the step assembly itself. Bracket installation may require additional drilling depending on your vehicle; refer to the bracket-specific instructions.
The serrated nuts (item #5) securing the end caps (item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) installed on the square head screws (item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The bracket package uses: the factory 10mm nut (reused), a 1/2-13 hex flange nut (item #6) on the T-bolt and factory stud, and 3/8-16 x 1.0 hex head bolts with 3/8" flat washers and 3/8-16 hex flange nuts (items #7, #8, #9) to connect the lower and upper brackets. The 1/2-13 nut is tightened; the 3/8-16 bolts are kept loose for final adjustment.
The manual does not include specific safety warnings or operating restrictions. However, standard safety practices apply: ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and properly supported before working underneath, use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment, and follow all torque specifications to ensure secure fastening. Consult the manufacturer for any additional safety guidance.
The manual does not provide a post-installation inspection checklist. After installation, verify that the step is centered side-to-side on the vehicle, all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values (5 lb-ft for end caps, 19 lb-ft for main mounting nuts), and the step does not move or rattle when pressure is applied. Consult the manufacturer for any additional inspection requirements.
The step is universal but requires a vehicle-specific bracket package. The manual covers the 571478 bracket package for 2014+ RAM ProMaster Vans. For other vehicles, confirm the correct bracket package with the manufacturer or retailer.
The step assembly includes the aluminum extrusion, two step pads, two end caps, square head screws, serrated nuts, and TEK screws. The bracket package is sold separately and includes its own fasteners.
