They feature 18-gauge stainless steel plates to help protect the bottom edge and extend the life of the mud flaps. With their 3/8" thick, recycled rubber construction, Textured Rubber Mud Guards easily deflect everything from mud to gravel, protecting the body of your truck from scratches, chips and scuffs. They are also made to add a stylish accent to your truck, featuring stainless steel plates along the bottom edge of each flap. The plates are made from 18-gauge stainless steel to provide a heavy-duty, rust-resistant shield, and they feature a bright, high-polish finish for a long-lasting shine. The textured finish of the rubber mud flaps is also designed to easily hide minor scuffs and scratches and maintain a clean appearance. For an easy installation and a custom fit, these truck mud flaps are made vehicle-specific. This particular set fits specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). The kit includes: metal Zee clip (Item #4), #10-24 X 3/4" truss head screws (Item #5), 10-24 serrated flange nuts (Item #6), 1/4" flat washers (Item #7), 8-15 X 1-3/4" screws (Item #8), #8 flat washers (Item #9), 5/16-18 X 0.75" button head screws (Item #10), 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (Item #11), #8 metal U-clips (Item #12), and rubber spacers (Item #3). Always verify all parts are present before starting installation.
Yes. You must remove the two factory wheel well liner retainer screws from the metallic flange of the wheel well. These fasteners are not reused and are discarded.
Attach the metal Zee clip (Item #4) to the upper inboard hole in the mudguard using the #10-24 X 3/4" truss head screws (Item #5), 1/4" flat washers (Item #7), and 10-24 serrated flange nuts (Item #6). Finger tighten only at this stage.
The rubber spacer (Item #3) is positioned between the mudguard and the wheel well flange to provide a cushion and proper spacing during installation.
Install the 8-15 X 1-3/4" screws (Item #8) through the second and fourth holes down from the top in the mudguard, inserting them into the metal U-clips. Leave these fasteners finger tight until the mudguard is leveled and positioned.
After installing the fasteners finger tight, move the mudguard in or out as desired. Level the mudguard so it is in line with the front tire and matches the rear mudguard. Once properly positioned and leveled, tighten all fasteners.
Yes. You must drill a 5/16" diameter hole through the urethane wheel well liner using the hole on the top of the Zee clip as a pilot guide. This hole is then fastened with a 5/16-18 X 0.75" button head screw and 5/16-18 serrated flange nut.
