With their 3/8" thick, recycled rubber construction, Textured Rubber Mud Guards easily deflect everything from mud to gravel, protecting the body of your truck from scratches, chips and scuffs. They are also made to add a stylish accent to your truck, featuring stainless steel plates along the bottom edge of each flap. The plates are made from 18-gauge stainless steel to provide a heavy-duty, rust-resistant shield, and they feature a bright, high-polish finish for a long-lasting shine. The textured finish of the rubber mud flaps is also designed to easily hide minor scuffs and scratches and maintain a clean appearance. For an easy installation and a custom fit, these truck mud flaps are made vehicle-specific. This particular set fits specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). 1. Remove the two factory wheel well liner retainer screws from the metallic wheel well flange. 2. If no fender flares are present, remove the plastic rock guard. 3. Insert two #8 metal U-clips into the metallic wheel well flange over the existing holes. 4. Remove the hex head factory fender brace bolt from the bottom of the box rocker panel. 5. Position the mudguard and install the 8-15 × 1-3/4" screws and #8 flat washers through the first and third holes from the top into the metal U-clips (finger tight only). 6. Install the mounting bracket using ¼" × 1" button head screws, ¼" flat washers, and ¼-20 serrated flange nuts (finger tight only). 7. Reinstall the factory fender brace bolt through the mounting bracket hole (finger tight only). 8. Adjust mudguard position and level it, then tighten all fasteners.
Install the 8-15 × 1-3/4" screws through the first and third holes down from the top in the mudguard. These screws attach into the metal U-clips.
No. Leave all fasteners finger tight during initial installation. Only tighten them after you have positioned the mudguard, leveled it to align with the rear tire and match the front mudguard, and made any necessary adjustments.
After all fasteners are finger tight, move the mudguard in or out as desired. Level the mudguard so it is approximately straight with the rear tire and matches the front mudguard. Once positioned correctly, tighten all fasteners.
No drilling is required. The installation uses existing factory holes in the metallic wheel well flange and the factory fender brace bolt hole.
