LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, but you must attach bracket item #14 (90 degree, 3 holes) to brackets items #1 and #2 in order to use the load reaction stud on a 1500 model pickup. This additional bracket is included in the parts package.
The bracket package includes: 2 front mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 center mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 rear outboard mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 rear inboard mounting brackets, 6 rubber washers, 12 flat washers (3/8"), 24 serrated flange nuts (3/8"), 6 double-ended studs (3/8"-16 x 4.50"), 6 bolts (3/8"-16 x 1.00"), 2 flat washers (.59 ID x 1.06 OD), 2 ninety-degree brackets (3 holes), 2 hex head cap screws (5/16"-18 x 1.00"), 2 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), 2 flat washers (5/16"), 4 flat washers (1/2"), 2 nylock nuts (3/8"-16), 2 hex head bolts (3/8"-16 x 2.00"), 4 flat washers (3/8"), 2 spring hanger outboard mounting brackets, and 2 spring hanger inboard mounting brackets.
The manual does not specify whether the step assembly is included or sold separately. The installation instructions state 'PLEASE REVIEW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN YOUR STEP ASSEMBLY FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS,' indicating the step assembly has separate instructions. Contact the manufacturer or your retailer to confirm what is included with your purchase.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified installer for guidance on this step.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #11): install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to the bottom of the thread, then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #9) and rubber cushion washer (item #8) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard side of the bracket through the lowest hole in the bent flange that will allow the rubber washer to set firm against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #10) on the outboard end of the stud finger tight only at this stage.
Leave the front mounting bracket (items #1 and #2) and center mounting bracket (items #3 and #4) finger tight during initial installation. They will be tightened after the spring hanger brackets are attached and the step assembly is installed.
Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #7) and washer (item #13) to the rear cab mount and leave these fasteners finger tight. The specific hole configuration differs between Extended and Crew Cab models: Extended Cab uses the bottom single hole and top double holes; Crew Cab uses the bottom single hole and bottom double holes. See Figure 1 in the manual for the correct configuration for your cab style.
Attach the rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #5 and #6) to the rear inboard cab mounting bracket (item #7) using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #12), washers (item #9), and serrated flange nuts (item #10). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle). Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put the bolts through the front side of the bracket so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side to allow clearance for the truck frame. Torque the bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put the bolts through the front side of the bracket so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side to allow clearance for the truck frame. Torque the bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #23) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #22) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8" zinc plated bolt (item #20), 3/8" washer (item #21), 1/2" washer (item #18), and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut (item #19). Do not tighten these bolts until the bracket is attached to the step assembly.
Torque the bolts connecting the rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #5 and #6) to the rear inboard cab mounting bracket (item #7) to 19 lb. ft. This applies to both Extended Cab and Crew Cab models.
Tighten the body mount bolts per manufacturer specifications. The manual does not provide a specific torque value; consult your vehicle's service manual or the manufacturer for the correct specification.
Tighten the spring hanger bolt per manufacturer specifications. The manual does not provide a specific torque value; consult your vehicle's service manual or the manufacturer for the correct specification.
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. Take your time and apply steady pressure to avoid stripping the inserts.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) - 2007-2017 Chevrolet GMC Trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.

Yes, you must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) and reinstall them through the mounting brackets. You must also loosen the spring hanger bolts. On 2010+ models, use caution when removing body mount bolts due to excessive thread locker.
Torque the bolts connecting the rear outboard and inboard cab mounting brackets to 19 lb. ft. Tighten body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts per manufacturer specifications (consult your vehicle's service manual).
Leave finger tight: front mounting bracket bolts (step 4.1), center mounting bracket bolts (step 4.2), rear inboard mounting bracket bolts (step 4.3), and spring hanger mounting bolts (step 5.2). Tighten them after the step assembly is attached.
Regularly inspect and maintain the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E. Re-torque leaf spring bolts to factory specifications to prevent clunking noise and vehicle damage.
