LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the 401747 is designed for 2015 and newer GM 2500/3500HD pickups in Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab configurations, with both gas and diesel engines. This is a body mount application with no drilling required.
No. The 401747 is designed for 2015 and newer models only. Compatibility with older model years is not supported by this manual.
Yes. The 401747 is designed for Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab configurations. However, the center mounting bracket (Item #4, 5) is used as the rear bracket on Regular Cab models only, so the bracket configuration differs by cab style.
The kit includes: 6 rubber cushion washers (0.354 ID × 1.00 OD × 0.75 thick), 22 flat washers (3/8", 0.438 ID × 1.00 OD × 0.083 thick), 30 serrated flange nuts (3/8"-16 UNC), 6 double-ended studs (3/8"-16 × 4.00"), 12 hex head screws (3/8"-16 UNC), 2 flat washers (0.59 ID × 1.06 OD × 0.19 thick), 2 hex-head bolts (3/8"-16 × 2"), 2 nylon lock nuts (3/8"-16), and 4 flat washers (1/2"). All fasteners are zinc-plated steel.
No. The 401747 is a no-drill application. It uses existing factory body mount bolt holes and spring hanger bolts.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and replace them with the mounting brackets supplied in the kit. The spring hanger bolts must also be loosened (not removed) to allow the spring hanger mounting brackets to be installed.
Yes. Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts. This may require extra effort or heat to loosen them.
1. Pre-assemble the front bracket on the left side. 2. Assemble the load reaction studs and hardware. 3. Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the mounting brackets. 4. Remove factory body mount bolts and install front, center, and rear mounting brackets (finger tight). 5. Attach the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket. 6. Install spring hanger brackets. 7. Install step boards per their instructions. 8. Tighten the load reaction bolt assemblies. 9. Repeat steps 1–8 for the right side.
On the left side, assemble Items #1, 3, and 14 using three 3/8"-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #10, 11, 13). Torque to 19 lb. ft. Repeat for the right side using the right-side front bracket.
On the short threaded end of the stud (Item #12), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #10) and rubber cushion washer (Item #9) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #11) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only. Do not fully tighten until Step 8.
Install the front mounting bracket (Items #1, 3) to the front body mount location where the factory front body mount bolt was removed. Leave these fasteners finger tight until all brackets are in place and the step boards are installed.
Install the center mounting bracket (Item #4) to the center body mount location where the factory center body mount bolt was removed. Leave these fasteners finger tight. Note: On Regular Cab models only, the center mounting bracket is used as the rear bracket.
Install the rear mounting bracket (Item #8) and washer (Item #15) to the rear body mount location where the factory rear body mount bolt was removed. Leave these fasteners finger tight. Then attach the rear outboard bracket (Item #6) to the rear inboard bracket (Item #8) using three 3/8"-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (Items #13, 10, 11). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side (toward the rear of the vehicle) of the rear inboard bracket. Torque these bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Loosen the factory spring hanger bolt or nut just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #18) behind the flange of the bolt or nut. Position the inboard bracket with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger bracket (Item #19) so its inboard portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8"-16 × 2" bolt, 3/8" flat washer, 1/2" flat washer, and 3/8"-16 nylon lock nut (Items #10, 16, 17, 20). Leave loose until the step board is in place.
Yes. Install the step boards as described by the instructions included with your step boards. Ensure that the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing, and torque the body mount fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
Torque the three 3/8"-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts to 19 lb. ft.
Torque the three 3/8"-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts connecting the rear outboard and rear inboard brackets to 19 lb. ft.
Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb. ft. after positioning the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame.
The manual does not specify the torque value for factory body mount bolts. You must torque them to the manufacturer's specifications. Consult your vehicle's service manual or contact the manufacturer for the correct torque value.

CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007–2017 Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
The manual states that mounting brackets must not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing but does not explain the reason. This is likely to prevent interference with the body mount's movement or to avoid damage. Ensure proper bracket positioning during installation.
The rubber cushion washer (Item #9) provides a cushioned interface between the load reaction stud and the frame. It must be positioned so the end of the stud is recessed approximately 3/16" into the rubber washer, and it must seat firmly against the side wall of the frame to absorb vibration and load.
