LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards for vans are the ideal work van accessories, adding safe, dependable footing to your cargo van with a vehicle-specific fit. Grip Step van steps are equipped with high-traction treads for fleet-approved safety, and they are made from powder-coated aluminum to be lightweight and provide long-lasting resistance to the elements. All Grip Step running boards are engineered for vehicle-specific installation. These van steps offer a custom fit for certain years and styles of the Nissan NV1500, NV2500 and NV3500 (see application info to verify fitment with your cargo van). They come with two shorter steps, one for the driver-side door and one for the passenger-side door. They also come with powder-coated steel brackets and stainless steel hardware for a complete install. Grip Step running boards for vans are optimized for delivery trucks, construction vehicles and other commercial vans. They feature a 7" width, covered with expanded metal treads to grip the bottom of your boots for safe entry and exit every time. The metal treads are also highly resistant to wear, and they help keep the steps clean with their open, through-hole design. The aluminum construction of LUVERNE Grip Step running boards makes them strong for a rigid step, but lightweight for optimized fuel efficiency. Aluminum is also highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize corrosion resistance, Grip Step van steps are shielded in a textured black powder coat finish. This gives them an impervious layer of protection against the elements and resists chipping and UV damage. The black running boards also complement the look and style of your cargo van, adding a professional finishing touch. To complete the look, we also offer rear Grip Step van steps, providing safe, convenient access to the rear cargo area.
Grip Step van running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work vans and cargo vans, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 36" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Nissan NV Vans 415036-401161 (Part #FTNF415036-401161) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Model 415036 package includes two 36" grip step extrusions (boards) and all hardware needed to assemble them. Each step comes with 4 support braces, 4 end caps, 4 spacer plates, 8 carriage bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 8 washers, 8 flange nuts, and 8 self-drilling tek screws (#8 x 1/2"). You must purchase a separate bracket package to mount the steps to your vehicle.
Yes, the Model 401161 is designed specifically for 2011 Nissan NV vans in the short/short configuration. The bracket package includes left and right support brackets (part numbers 552810 and 552811) and all mounting hardware for this vehicle.
The manual states that you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle, and then attach the step assembly per the step assembly instructions. The 415036 steps are 36" boards designed to work with bracket systems; compatibility depends on the bracket package. Verify with the bracket package instructions or the manufacturer that the 415036 steps are compatible with the 401161 brackets.
You will need a drill with 3/8" and 5/32" drill bits to create mounting holes in the vehicle's pinch weld and inner rocker panel. You will also need standard tools to install bolts, washers, and nuts (likely a wrench or socket set for 5/16" and 3/8" fasteners). The manual does not specify additional tools required.
Yes. The manual explicitly states to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts are on hand before starting installation. For the 415036 steps, you must also follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package. For the 401161 brackets, you must review the step assembly installation instructions included with your step assembly.
First, slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of each step (item #1). Second, slide the end caps (item #3) over the front and rear of each step and secure with #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws. Third, set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. Fourth, attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. Finally, attach using 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts, then tighten all fasteners.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill one 3/8" diameter hole through the middle of the pinch weld for the bottom mounting hole on each side (driver and passenger). You must also drill one 3/8" diameter hole through the pinch weld at the rear bracket location on each side. Additionally, you must drill two 5/32" holes through the inner rocker panel for each bracket (4 holes total per side) to install self-tapping screws. The manual provides specific location guidance in Figure 1.
The front bracket hole location is measured from the front wheel well opening, as shown in Figure 1 of the installation instructions. You must drill one 3/8" diameter hole through the middle of the pinch weld at this location. The manual does not provide a specific measurement in inches; refer to Figure 1 for the exact location.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket together.
The step assembly is attached using 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts with 5/16" flat washers and 5/16-18 flange nuts (8 of each). The end caps are secured with #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws (8 total). All 5/16" fasteners must be torqued to 19 lb-ft.
The 401161 brackets use multiple fastener types: (1) 5/16-18 x 1.0" hex head cap screws with 5/16" flat washers and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts for the initial bracket positioning; (2) 3/8"-16 x 0.75" hex head screws with two 3/8" flat washers and 3/8"-16 serrated flange nuts for the rear bracket assembly; (3) 1/4" x 3/4" hex head self-tapping screws for the inner rocker panel (8 total); and (4) 3/8"-16 x 1" bolts, two 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8"-16 flange nuts for rear bracket attachment. The manual does not specify torque values for the 3/8" fasteners.
Hold the two brackets up to the vehicle and secure them temporarily with 5/16-18 x 1.0" bolts, flange nuts, and 2 washers. Tighten these fasteners down while ensuring that the brackets are level with the vehicle. Once level and properly positioned, use the top two holes in each bracket as a guide to drill 5/32" holes through the inner rocker panel. Install the 1/4" x 3/4" self-tapping screws and use care not to over-tighten. Finally, tighten all support bracket fasteners on the rear bracket.
Yes. The manual provides detailed instructions for the driver side installation (steps 1-3) and then states to repeat steps 1 through 3 for the passenger side. The support bracket assembly, drilling locations, and fastener installation are the same for both sides, using the left support bracket (552810) on the driver side and the right support bracket (552811) on the passenger side.
The support braces (item #2) are slid into the channel of the step extrusion to provide structural support. When the step is mounted on the brackets, each support brace is slid over the top of each mounting bracket and a flat spacer plate is attached between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. This creates a secure connection between the step and the vehicle's mounting brackets.
The service parts list includes 4 support braces (item #2) total. The manual states to slide the "appropriate numbers" of support braces into the channel of the step, but does not specify the exact number per step. Refer to the bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer for the correct number of braces per step.
Yes. The manual warns to use care not to over-tighten the 1/4" x 3/4" self-tapping screws used to attach the brackets to the inner rocker panel. Additionally, the manual states not to tighten the fasteners when initially holding the brackets up to the vehicle; tighten them only after the brackets are level with the vehicle and properly positioned.
No. The manual specifies a staged tightening process. When initially attaching the rear bracket to the support bracket assembly (step 3), do not tighten the fasteners at this time. Hold the bracket up to mark the hole location, then drill. After positioning the brackets and ensuring they are level with the vehicle (step 4), tighten the fasteners. Finally, tighten all support bracket fasteners on the rear bracket (step 6) after the inner rocker panel screws are installed.
Yes, the Model 401161 brackets are designed specifically for 2011 Nissan NV vans in the short/short configuration.
Yes. You must drill one 3/8" hole through the pinch weld on each side for the bottom mounting hole, one 3/8" hole through the pinch weld on each side for the rear bracket, and two 5/32" holes through the inner rocker panel for each bracket.
