LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards for vans are the ideal work van accessories, adding safe, dependable footing to your cargo van with a vehicle-specific fit. Grip Step van steps are equipped with high-traction treads for fleet-approved safety, and they are made from powder-coated aluminum to be lightweight and provide long-lasting resistance to the elements. All Grip Step running boards are engineered for vehicle-specific installation. These van steps offer a custom fit for certain years and styles of the Chevy Express 3500 or 4500 and GMC Savana 3500 or 4500 (see application info to verify fitment with your cargo van). They come with two shorter steps, one for the driver-side door and one for the passenger-side door. They also come with powder-coated steel brackets and stainless steel hardware for a complete install. Grip Step running boards for vans are optimized for delivery trucks, construction vehicles and other commercial vans. They feature a 7" width, covered with expanded metal treads to grip the bottom of your boots for safe entry and exit every time. The metal treads are also highly resistant to wear, and they help keep the steps clean with their open, through-hole design. The aluminum construction of LUVERNE Grip Step running boards makes them strong for a rigid step, but lightweight for optimized fuel efficiency. Aluminum is also highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize corrosion resistance, Grip Step van steps are shielded in a textured black powder coat finish. This gives them an impervious layer of protection against the elements and resists chipping and UV damage. The black running boards also complement the look and style of your cargo van, adding a professional finishing touch. To complete the look, we also offer rear Grip Step van steps, providing safe, convenient access to the rear cargo area.
Grip Step van running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work vans and cargo vans, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 36" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Express, Savana 415036-400341 (Part #FTNF415036-400341) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Model 400341 is designed for 2003 and newer Cut-A-Way Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana van chassis/cabs only. If your vehicle is a different model, year, or configuration, this step will not fit. Verify your vehicle's year, make, model and body style before purchasing.
Model 415036 is a 36-inch grip step board kit (boards only) that requires a separate bracket package and its own mounting instructions. Model 400341 is a complete grip step system designed specifically for 2003 and newer Cut-A-Way Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, and includes all brackets and hardware needed for installation on those vehicles.
You will need a 3/8-inch drill bit to drill a hole in the step board where the support brace attaches. A socket wrench or adjustable wrench is needed to tighten bolts to the specified torque values (65 lb-ft for body mounting bolts and 19 lb-ft for support brace bolts). No other specialized tools are mentioned in the manual.
Yes. You must remove the front body mounting bolt on the left side of the vehicle (Step 1), and then the second body mounting bolt (Step 5). These bolts, along with their steel washers and rubber cushions, will be reused during installation. No other vehicle components need to be removed.
The original front body mounting bolts, steel washers, and rubber cushions are removed and reused. These are reinstalled as part of the load reaction bolt assembly to secure the mounting brackets to the vehicle body. Do not discard these fasteners.
1. Remove the front left body mounting bolt (reuse the bolt, washer, and rubber cushion). 2. Install the multi-thread U-nut on the front left mounting bracket. 3. Reinstall the front left mounting bracket using the original bolt, washer, and rubber cushion; tighten to 65 lb-ft. 4. Install the load reaction bolt assembly on the front left using a 3/8-16 x 5-inch hex bolt. 5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the rear left mounting bracket using a 3/8-16 x 3-inch hex bolt. 6. Install support braces on the front mounting bracket (do not tighten yet). 7. Attach the step boards per the step board kit instructions. 8. Drill a 3/8-inch hole through the support brace into the step board. 9. Secure the support brace to the step board with a 5/16-inch bolt, washer, and flange nut; tighten to 19 lb-ft. 10. Repeat all steps for the right side of the vehicle.
Yes. You must drill a 3/8-inch diameter hole through the support brace into the step board at the point where they meet. This hole is used to secure the support brace to the step board with a bolt, washer, and flange nut. Drilling is required on both the left and right sides of the vehicle.
The front and rear body mounting bolts (the original factory bolts that are reused) must be tightened to 65 lb-ft. This applies to both the left and right sides of the vehicle.
All support brace bolts (5/16-inch) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the bolts that secure the support braces to the step board.
Do not tighten the support brace bolts when you first install them on the front mounting bracket (Step 9). Leave them loose until after you have attached the step boards and drilled the hole through the support brace into the step board. Only tighten the support brace bolts to 19 lb-ft after the step board is secured (Step 13).
A load reaction bolt assembly is a fastening system that uses a hex bolt, serrated flange nuts, and a rubber washer or cap plug to secure the mounting bracket to the vehicle frame while allowing for slight movement and vibration absorption. The assembly is installed in the U-nut on each mounting bracket. The rubber cushion must be snug against the frame before the outside flange nut is tightened. Two different load reaction bolt assemblies are used: one on the front mounting bracket (using a 3/8-16 x 5-inch bolt with a rubber washer) and one on the rear mounting bracket (using a 3/8-16 x 3-inch bolt with a vinyl cap plug).
The serrated flange must face toward the end of the bolt and be turned on just short of the bolt head. When the bolt comes through the other side, install another flange nut facing the same direction as the first nut. The outside flange nut is tightened after the rubber cushion is snug against the frame.
For the front mounting bracket load reaction bolt assembly, turn the inner flange nut on until there is 3/4 inch protruding from the face of the nut. Then install the 3/8-inch flat washer and the rubber washer (.354 x 1.00 x .748) into the end of the bolt.
The front load reaction bolt assembly uses a 3/8-16 x 5-inch hex bolt with a rubber washer (.354 x 1.00 x .748) and a 3/8-inch flat washer. The rear load reaction bolt assembly uses a 3/8-16 x 3-inch hex bolt with a vinyl cap plug (.364 x 5/8 inch) instead of a rubber washer. Both use serrated flange nuts, but the rear assembly does not require a separate flat washer.
Install the multi-thread U-nut on the mounting bracket before attaching the bracket to the vehicle body. The U-nut is installed on the bracket first, then the bracket is mounted to the body using the original factory bolt, washer, and rubber cushion.
The step end of the mounting bracket should be positioned at a 90-degree angle to the outside surface of the vehicle body. This ensures the step extends outward from the vehicle at the correct angle for safe use.
The Model 415036 kit includes two 36-inch grip step extrusions (boards), four upper support braces, four end caps, four lower spacer plates, eight 5/16-18 x 1-inch carriage bolts, eight 5/16-inch flat washers, eight 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts, and eight #8 x 1/2-inch self-drilling tek screws. This is a board-only kit; you must purchase a separate bracket package to mount these boards to your vehicle.
1. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (Item #2) into the channel of each step board (Item #1). 2. Slide the end cap (Item #3) over the front and rear of each step. 3. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2-inch self-drilling tek screw (Item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step. 4. Set the assembled step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 5. Attach the flat spacer plate (Item #4) to the bottom of the step between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 6. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1-inch carriage bolt, washer, and flange nut (Items #5, #6, #7), attach the step assembly, spacer plate, and mounting bracket. 7. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
All 5/16-inch fasteners on the Model 415036 must be torqued to 19 lb-ft. This includes the carriage bolts that attach the step assembly, spacer plate, and mounting bracket together.
The end cap is attached to the bottom of the step using the supplied #8 x 1/2-inch self-drilling tek screw (Item #8). One screw is used at the front end cap and one at the rear end cap.
Yes. The Model 415036 instructions state: 'Follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package that you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle.' The Model 400341 includes its own bracket instructions in this manual. If you are using Model 415036 boards with a bracket package, you must follow both the board assembly instructions and the separate bracket package instructions.
The Model 400341 is designed for 2003 and newer Cut-A-Way Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana van chassis/cabs only. Verify your vehicle's year, make, model and body style match before purchasing.
