LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards for vans are the ideal work van accessories, adding safe, dependable footing to your cargo van with a vehicle-specific fit. Grip Step van steps are equipped with high-traction treads for fleet-approved safety, and they are made from powder-coated aluminum to be lightweight and provide long-lasting resistance to the elements. All Grip Step running boards are engineered for vehicle-specific installation. These van steps offer a custom fit for certain years and styles of the Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment with your cargo van). They come with two shorter steps, one for the driver-side door and one for the passenger-side door. They also come with powder-coated steel brackets and stainless steel hardware for a complete install. Grip Step running boards for vans are optimized for delivery trucks, construction vehicles and other commercial vans. They feature a 7" width, covered with expanded metal treads to grip the bottom of your boots for safe entry and exit every time. The metal treads are also highly resistant to wear, and they help keep the steps clean with their open, through-hole design. The aluminum construction of LUVERNE Grip Step running boards makes them strong for a rigid step, but lightweight for optimized fuel efficiency. Aluminum is also highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize corrosion resistance, Grip Step van steps are shielded in a textured black powder coat finish. This gives them an impervious layer of protection against the elements and resists chipping and UV damage. The black running boards also complement the look and style of your cargo van, adding a professional finishing touch. To complete the look, we also offer rear Grip Step van steps, providing safe, convenient access to the rear cargo area.
Grip Step van running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work vans and cargo vans, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 36" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Ram ProMaster 415036-401471 (Part #FTNF415036-401471) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The O-MEGA STEPS models 585036 and 586036 are vehicle running boards made from 33-inch aluminum extrusions. Model 551697 is satin finish and model 551698 is black finish. Each step includes step pads, end caps, and mounting hardware. Installation requires a specific bracket package matched to your vehicle.
Models 401471 and 571471 MEGA/GRIP STEPS are designed for 2014-newer RAM ProMaster vans. Installation instructions are specific to this vehicle platform.
The manual requires a drill with 1/2" TEK screw capability for step pad installation. For the RAM ProMaster MEGA/GRIP STEPS, you will need a drill with 11/32" and 3/16" drill bits, a straight edge for alignment, and a clamp for bracket positioning during installation.
Yes. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package matched to your vehicle. The bracket package is not included in the O-MEGA STEPS instructions provided and must be obtained separately.
1. Drill and install the two center screws first using 1/2" TEK screws (item #6). 2. Install the remaining screws in the end slotted holes. 3. When installing at approximately 70°F, position end-slot screws in the middle of the slot. 4. Turn screws snug, then back off ¼ turn to allow for plastic expansion and contraction. The slots prevent the pads from rising between screws as temperature changes.
Install the end caps (item #3) as shown in Figure 1, then tighten the serrated nuts (item #5) to 5 lb-ft torque.
Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Position the O-MEGA STEP so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle.
Yes. Drilling is required at multiple locations. The front bracket requires an 11/32" hole in the pinch weld. The rear bracket requires two 11/32" holes in the pinch weld, one 11/32" hole on the angled surface toward the rear, and one 3/16" hole on the angled surface toward the front. Undercoating must be scraped off before drilling to ensure brackets sit flat.
Yes. Undercoating must be scraped off in multiple locations: where the rear bracket sits on the pinch weld, and where the U-nut (item #8) will be installed on the angled surface. Some undercoating may also need removal for proper U-nut installation on the front bracket.
Yes. Two body plugs must be removed: one on the angled surface toward the rear of the vehicle (for the rear bracket U-nut installation), and one located next to the top hole of the front bracket. After drilling and installing U-nuts, the plugs are reinstalled.
1. Preassemble brackets with spacer brackets using bolts, washers, and flange nuts—finger tighten only. 2. Mark and drill the front bracket hole (11/32"). 3. Fasten the front bracket to the pinch weld. 4. Locate and mark the rear bracket position on the vertical body line behind the driver's door. 5. Clamp and mark all four rear bracket holes. 6. Drill the pinch weld holes (11/32") and angled surface holes (11/32" and 3/16"). 7. Remove body plugs and install U-nuts. 8. Fasten the rear bracket loosely. 9. Drill the front bracket top hole and install the front bracket U-nut. 10. Tighten all fasteners.
Use a straight edge placed on the flat surface of the rear bracket, keeping it level with the vehicle. Move the front bracket up or down so its flat surface is level with the straight edge. Fasten the front bracket with the spacer bracket snug before marking the top hole for drilling.
The front bracket is fastened to the pinch weld using 5/16-18 hex head cap screws (item #10), 5/16" washers (item #11), and hex flange nuts (item #13).
The rear bracket is fastened using: 5/16-18 bolts, 5/16" washers, and hex flange nuts (items #7, 12, 13) on the pinch weld; a ¼-20 U-nut (item #8) with ¼-20 bolt and washer (items #14, #15) on the angled surface toward the rear; and a 5/16" × ¾" self-tapping screw (item #9) on the angled surface toward the front. A retainer plate (item #5) is also used.
Yes, the passenger side installation follows the same steps as the driver's side (steps 2 through 5), except the rear bracket will be item #3 instead of item #2.
Preassembled brackets are finger-tightened only initially. The rear bracket fasteners are left loose after initial installation, then all rear bracket fasteners are tightened together after the U-nut is installed. All front bracket fasteners are tightened after the top hole is drilled and the U-nut is installed.
No. O-MEGA STEPS require a vehicle-specific bracket package. MEGA/GRIP STEPS models 401471 and 571471 are designed specifically for 2014-newer RAM ProMaster vans.
For O-MEGA STEPS, drilling is not mentioned in the provided instructions. For MEGA/GRIP STEPS on RAM ProMaster vans, drilling is required using 11/32" and 3/16" drill bits, and undercoating removal is necessary.
O-MEGA STEPS include step pads, end caps, 1/2" TEK screws for pad attachment, square head screws for bracket mounting, and serrated flange nuts. Sixteen square head screws and sixteen serrated nuts are provided.
Tighten the serrated nuts on the end caps to 5 lb-ft.
Plastic step pads expand when hot and contract when cold. Backing off the end-slot screws ¼ turn allows the slots to accommodate this movement without the pads rising between the screws.
Read all instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting installation.
This indicates the end-slot screws were not backed off ¼ turn as required. The plastic pads expand and contract with temperature changes. Loosen the end-slot screws and back them off ¼ turn from snug to allow the slots to accommodate pad movement.
Undercoating is preventing the bracket from sitting flat. Scrape off the undercoating on the pinch weld where the rear bracket mounts. Ensure the bracket sits completely flat before marking and drilling holes.
Undercoating is blocking the U-nut installation. Remove undercoating from the angled surface where the U-nut must slide into position over the 11/32" hole. Once cleared, the U-nut should slide in place.
Use a straight edge placed on the flat surface of the rear bracket, keeping it level with the vehicle. Loosen the front bracket fasteners and move the front bracket up or down until its flat surface aligns with the straight edge. Re-tighten all fasteners.
