Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 or 5500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 60" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Dodge, Ram 415060-401631 (Part #FTNF415060-401631) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, the 401631 is designed for 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab Pickups. However, 2009–2012 trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket to achieve proper mounting location.
Yes, the 401631 is compatible with 2010 and newer Dodge Ram HD Regular Cab Pickups and Chassis Cabs.
No. The 401631 works on trucks both with and without threaded inserts in the rocker panel. Trucks with threaded inserts use a simpler installation path (Steps 2.1–2.4). Trucks without threaded inserts require installation of a T-bolt weldment (Steps 2.5–2.10). Both methods are fully supported.
The kit includes: 2 front left brackets (553006), 2 front right brackets (553007), 8 carriage bolts 1/4-20 x 1" (101320), 8 flat washers 1/4" (101370), 8 flange nuts 1/4-20 (102366), 8 hex head screws M8 x 25mm (102549), 8 flat washers 5/16" (100034), 4 hex flange nuts M8 (105859), 4 T-bolt weldments (553012), and 4 plastic bolt retainers 8mm (101572). The T-bolts and retainers are only needed if your truck lacks threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
Yes, if your 2009–2012 truck does not have obround holes in the pinchweld, you will need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Position the bracket in place, mark the pinchweld for drilling, then drill the holes. Trucks from 2013 onward typically have these holes pre-drilled.
1. Place the front bracket (Item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes in the lower flange with the obround holes in the pinchweld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts through the flange and pinchweld. 4. Add a 1/4" flat washer and 1/4-20 flange nut to each bolt, leaving finger-tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw with a 5/16" flat washer through the upper flange slots, leaving finger-tight. 6. Repeat for the rear bracket. Leave all fasteners finger-tight until step 3, when you install the step plates and adjust before final tightening.
The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side. Use Item #2 (front right bracket, 553007) for the front position and Item #1 (front left bracket, 553006) for the rear position. Follow the same fastening procedure as the driver's side, leaving all fasteners finger-tight until you install the step plates and adjust the brackets before final tightening.
1. Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #9) into the large obround hole with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud protruding. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #10) to the stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Install the bracket and carriage bolts as described in the standard procedure. 3. Place a flat washer (Item #7) and M8 flange nut (Item #8) on the T-bolt's threaded stud, leaving finger-tight. 4. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #6) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #7), leaving finger-tight. Repeat for all four brackets.
Leave all fasteners finger-tight during the initial installation of the brackets. Install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners to their final specification. This allows for proper alignment and positioning before final torque is applied.
Lower mounting flange: two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (stainless steel, black oxide), each with a 1/4" flat washer and 1/4-20 flange nut. Upper mounting flange: M8 x 25mm hex head screw (zinc plated) with a 5/16" flat washer. For trucks without threaded inserts: M8 flange nut (zinc plated) on the T-bolt's threaded stud. All fasteners are left finger-tight during installation and adjusted before final tightening.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. The kit includes brackets, carriage bolts, washers, nuts, screws, and T-bolt weldments (if your truck lacks threaded inserts in the rocker panel).
The plastic bolt retainer (Item #10) is attached to the threaded stud of the T-bolt weldment to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel during installation. This is only used on trucks without threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #9) into the large obround hole on the vertical wall of the rocker panel with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out of the hole. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. Attach the plastic bolt retainer to the threaded stud immediately to secure it in place.
The lower mounting flange must be positioned to the outside of the pinchweld. The upper mounting flange has slotted holes and is positioned to accept the M8 screw. The bracket is placed so that the rectangular holes in the lower flange align with the obround holes in the pinchweld.
Yes, the 401631 is designed for 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab Pickups and 2010+ Dodge Ram HD Regular Cab Pickups and Chassis Cabs. Note: 2009–2012 trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket.
The kit includes 8 carriage bolts (1/4-20 x 1"), 8 flat washers (1/4"), 8 flange nuts (1/4-20), 8 hex head screws (M8 x 25mm), 8 flat washers (5/16"), 4 hex flange nuts (M8), 4 T-bolt weldments, and 4 plastic bolt retainers. T-bolts and retainers are only needed if your truck lacks threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
Only if your truck is a 2009–2012 model without obround holes in the pinchweld. You will need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Position the bracket, mark the pinchweld, then drill. Newer trucks have these holes pre-drilled.
Leave all fasteners finger-tight during initial installation. Tighten them only after installing the step plates and adjusting the brackets and boards for proper alignment.
Yes, it is a mirror image. Use Item #2 (front right bracket) for the front and Item #1 (front left bracket) for the rear on the passenger side, opposite of the driver's side. The fastening procedure is otherwise identical.
The plastic bolt retainer prevents the T-bolt weldment from falling into the rocker panel during installation on trucks without threaded inserts. It is attached to the T-bolt's threaded stud.
