The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD or Tahoe and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD or Yukon (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.

The mounting brackets attach in two stages. First, insert 5/16" U-nuts (part 105541) into the upper holes in the rocker panel (unless your vehicle has threaded inserts). Then attach the top of the brackets using either 5/16-18 × 1.0 screws with flat washers (parts 100647 and 106998) or M8 × 30 mm screws (part 100180) if your vehicle has threaded inserts. Hand-tighten these fasteners initially. Next, install the M8-1.25 screw and washer, position the pinch weld support bracket (part 551666) above the pinch weld, and install the M8 flanged nut (part 105859). Finally, tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
Not necessarily. Some vehicles have threaded inserts already installed in the rocker panels. If your vehicle has threaded inserts, you will not need to install the 5/16" U-nuts (part 105541). If your vehicle does not have threaded inserts, you must insert the U-nuts into the upper holes in the rocker panel before attaching the brackets.
If your vehicle has threaded inserts in the rocker panels, use black M8 × 30 mm screws (part 100180) in place of the 5/16-18 × 1.0 screws. You will not need to install U-nuts. Use 5/16" flat washers (part 106998) with these screws.
