Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Toyota Tundra (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.

The kit includes four mounting brackets (two each of part numbers 551985, 551986, 551987, and 551988), 16 M8-1.25×25 mm zinc-plated hex head cap screws (102549), 16 lock washers 5/16" (100030), and 16 flat washers 5/16" (100034). The step assembly itself is sold separately and comes with its own installation instructions.
No drilling is required. The brackets attach to existing threaded inserts in the rocker panel using the factory mounting holes.
Each bracket is marked with notches on the inboard edge. Bracket #1 (part 551985) has one notch and mounts at the front of the vehicle. Brackets #2, #3, and #4 have correspondingly more notches and progress toward the rear. You receive two of each bracket type for left and right sides.
Position each bracket so both mounting holes align with the threaded inserts in the rocker panel interior wall. Attach the top hole using one M8-1.25×25 mm zinc-plated hex head cap screw (102549), one 5/16" flat washer (100034), and one 5/16" lock washer (100030). Level the bracket and tighten to 19 lb-ft torque.
Tighten the M8-1.25×25 mm hex head cap screws to 19 lb-ft.
