Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 78" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Silverado, Sierra 415078-401113 (Part #FTNF415078-401113) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, the Curt 401113 step brackets are designed for 1999 GM Silverado and Sierra Extended and Crew Cab pickups. If you have a 1500 model pickup, you must also attach bracket item #14 to brackets #1 and #2 to use the load reaction stud. Confirm your vehicle year and cab style before installation.
Bracket item #14 is required only if you are mounting the steps on a 1500 model pickup. It must be attached to brackets #1 and #2 in order to use the load reaction stud. If your vehicle is not a 1500 model, this bracket is not needed.
The bracket package includes: 2 front mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 center mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 rear inboard mounting brackets, 2 rear outboard mounting brackets (LH/RH), 6 rubber cushion washers, 12 flat washers (3/8"), 24 serrated flange nuts (3/8"), 6 double-ended studs (3/8-16 x 4.50"), 6 bolts (3/8-16 x 1.00"), 2 flat washers (.59 ID x 1.06 OD), 2 90-degree brackets with 3 holes, 2 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00), 2 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 2 flat washers (5/16").
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) and replace them with the mounting brackets. The manual recommends removing one side at a time to maintain vehicle stability.
Yes. 2010+ GM Silverado and Sierra models have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area. Use caution when removing the body mount bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #11), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #9) and rubber cushion washer (item #8) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end of the stud, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard side of the bracket through the lowest hole in the bent flange that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #10) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only at this stage.
No. After installing the front mounting brackets (items #1 & #2) and center mounting brackets (items #3 & #4) to their respective cab mounts, leave all fasteners finger tight. They will be tightened later after all brackets are in place.
Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #7) and washer (item #13) to the rear cab mount, finger tight. Then attach the rear outboard bracket (items #5 & #6) to the back side of the rear inboard bracket using 3/8" black zinc-plated bolts (item #12), washers (item #9), and serrated flange nuts (item #10). Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque these bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque these bolts to 19 lb. ft.
The 3/8" black zinc-plated bolts connecting the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket must be torqued to 19 lb. ft. This applies to both Extended Cab and Crew Cab models.
After all brackets are installed, tighten the body mount bolts per the manufacturer's specifications. The manual also notes that step assembly installation instructions are included separately with your step assembly and should be reviewed for specific details.
Yes, the 401113 is designed for 1999 GM Silverado and Sierra Extended and Crew Cab pickups. If you have a 1500 model, bracket #14 must also be attached to brackets #1 and #2.
The package includes mounting brackets (front, center, rear inboard and outboard), load reaction studs, serrated flange nuts, flat washers, rubber cushion washers, bolts, and 90-degree brackets. See the Service Parts List for complete part numbers and quantities.
Yes, you must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and replace them with the mounting brackets. Use caution on 2010+ models due to excessive thread locker in the bolt area.
The rear outboard bracket bolts must be torqued to 19 lb. ft. The manual references manufacturer's specifications for the body mount bolts but does not provide those values.
No. Leave the front, center, and rear inboard bracket fasteners finger tight during installation. Tighten the rear outboard bracket bolts to 19 lb. ft., then tighten all body mount bolts per manufacturer's specifications after all brackets are in place.
Yes. Extended Cab models use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Crew Cab models use the bottom single hole and top double holes. Both must torque rear outboard bolts to 19 lb. ft.
