Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F250 Super Duty, F350 Super Duty, F450 Super Duty and F550 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 78" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Ford Super Duty 415078-401723 (Part #FTNF415078-401723) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Models 415078 and 415088 are grip step boards (extrusions only, without brackets). The 415078 is 77.62" long and the 415088 is 87.75" long. Both are aluminum with black finish. These boards are universal and must be paired with a compatible bracket package (such as models 401523 or 401723) to mount to a vehicle. The boards are sold separately from the brackets.
Models 401523/401723 are designed for 2015 and newer Ford F150 pickups (all cab styles: Supercab and Supercrew) and 2017 and newer Ford Super Duty pickups (Supercab and Supercrew). If your vehicle is a different year, make, or model, these brackets will not fit. Consult the bracket package instructions or contact CURT for compatibility with other vehicles.
The manual confirms that grip step boards 415078 and 415088 are universal and must be attached to mounting brackets. The Ford F150/Super Duty bracket instructions (models 401523/401723) reference attaching step boards to the brackets, but the manual does not explicitly state which board models are compatible with which bracket models. Verify compatibility with the bracket package documentation or contact CURT before purchasing.
Each board package includes: 8 support braces (galvanized steel), 4 end caps (black plastic), 8 lower spacer plates (black), 16 carriage bolts (5/16"-18 x 1", stainless steel), 16 flat washers (5/16", stainless steel), 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18, stainless steel), and 8 self-drilling tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2", stainless steel, black). Additional fasteners may be supplied in the bracket package.
Each bracket package includes: 4 mounting brackets (rocker panel), 8 nylon isolator washers (1.5" diameter), 8 M8-1.25 flange nuts, 6 hex bolts (3/8"-16 x 1.0"), 8 flat washers (3/8"), 12 flange nuts (3/8"-16), 2 rubber cushion washers, 2 double-end studs (3/8"-16 x 5"), 2 center inboard brackets, and 2 center outboard brackets. Note: Some flange nuts are supplied in the bracket package, not the step board package.
No. The installation instructions for models 401523/401723 are labeled "NO DRILL APPLICATION." The brackets mount to factory-provided studs on the inside of the rocker panel and to the existing center body mount bolt. No drilling is required.
1. Slide support braces into the channel of the step board. 2. Slide end caps over the front and rear of the step and secure with tek screws to the bottom. 3. Set the assembled step on the mounting brackets and slide support braces over the bracket tops. 4. Attach the flat spacer plate between the support brace and bracket top. 5. Attach the step assembly to the bracket using carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts. 6. Tighten all fasteners and torque 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Install two 1.5" nylon isolator washers, the step mounting bracket, and two M8-1.25 flange nuts over the factory-provided studs on the inside of the rocker panel (left side). 2. Repeat for the rear bracket on the left side. 3. Check that front and rear brackets are level and tighten all flange nuts. 4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the right side of the vehicle. The manual does not specify the torque value for the M8-1.25 flange nuts; refer to Ford specifications or contact CURT.
1. Remove the center body mount bolt. 2. Install the center inboard bracket (item #10) in its place. 3. Attach the outboard bracket (item #11) to the inboard bracket using three 3/8"-18 x 1.0" hex bolts, three 3/8" flat washers, and three 3/8"-18 flange nuts. Adjust the height to match your step board and tighten bolts. 4. Check that the center bracket is perpendicular to the vehicle body and tighten the body mount bolt per Ford's specifications. The manual does not specify the torque for the 3/8" bolts connecting the brackets; refer to Ford specifications or contact CURT.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud, install a 3/8" flange nut backwards onto the bottom of the thread, then install a 3/8" flat washer and rubber cushion washer tight against the flange nut. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 2. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" flange nut backwards near the bottom of the threads. 3. Insert the assembled stud into the center inboard bracket and adjust the inboard nut so the rubber cushion washer is snug against the vehicle frame. 4. Install a 3/8" flange nut on the outboard side and tighten to 19 LB-FT.
All 5/16" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts attaching the step assembly to the mounting brackets must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The 3/8" flange nut installed on the outboard side of the load reaction stud must be torqued to 19 LB-FT.
The center body mount bolt must be tightened per the manufacturer's (Ford) specifications. The CURT manual does not provide a torque value. Consult your Ford service manual or contact CURT for the correct specification.
The manual instructs you to install the bracket package first, following the specific bracket instructions. The step boards are then attached to the completed bracket assembly. The manual does not require removing the step boards during bracket installation, but you should assemble the step boards (support braces, end caps, spacer plates) before attaching them to the brackets.
The manual specifies that you will need a wrench or socket to tighten fasteners and torque them to specification (19 LB-FT for 5/16" and 3/8" fasteners). A screwdriver is needed to install the tek screws into the step end caps. The manual does not provide a complete tool list. You will also need a torque wrench to achieve the specified torque values.
The rubber cushion washer (0.354" x 1.0" x 0.75") is installed on the load reaction stud to provide a cushion between the stud and the vehicle frame. The washer must be snug against the frame and the stud end must be recessed approximately 3/16" into the rubber washer. This design protects the frame from direct contact with the metal stud.
The manual requires that the center bracket be checked for perpendicularity to the vehicle body before final tightening of the body mount bolt. This ensures proper alignment and load distribution of the step assembly. Failure to achieve perpendicular alignment may result in uneven loading or instability of the steps.
After installation, verify that: 1. All fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values (19 LB-FT for 5/16" and 3/8" fasteners). 2. The front and rear rocker panel brackets are level. 3. The center bracket is perpendicular to the vehicle body. 4. The rubber cushion washer on the load reaction stud is snug against the vehicle frame. 5. The step boards are securely attached to the brackets with no movement or rattling.
These brackets fit 2015+ Ford F150 and 2017+ Ford Super Duty pickups (Supercab and Supercrew). Other vehicles require different bracket models.
No. These are a no-drill application. The brackets mount to factory-provided studs on the rocker panel and the existing center body mount bolt.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. Torque the load reaction stud outboard flange nut (3/8") to 19 LB-FT. The center body mount bolt must be torqued per Ford specifications.
Each board includes support braces, end caps, spacer plates, carriage bolts (5/16"-18 x 1"), washers, flange nuts, and tek screws. Additional fasteners are supplied in the bracket package.
1. Install bracket package per bracket instructions. 2. Assemble step boards with support braces and end caps. 3. Attach step assembly to brackets using carriage bolts and flange nuts. 4. Torque all fasteners to specification.
The rubber cushion washer protects the vehicle frame from direct contact with the load reaction stud. It must be snug against the frame with the stud end recessed approximately 3/16" into the washer.
