Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F250 Super Duty, F350 Super Duty, F450 Super Duty and F550 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Curt offers two grip step models: 415078 (77.62" extrusion) and 415088 (87.75" extrusion). Both are universal applications. Model 409922 is a bracket package specifically designed for 1999 and newer Ford Super Duty Super/Crew Cab Pickups.
The 409922 step brackets are designed for 1999 and newer Ford Super Duty Super/Crew Cab Pickups only.
No. The 415078 and 415088 grip steps are universal applications. They can be used with any compatible bracket package. The difference between the two models is the extrusion length: 415078 is 77.62" and 415088 is 87.75".
The grip step package (415078 or 415088) includes: 2 step extrusions, 8 upper support braces, 4 end caps, 8 lower spacer plates, 16 carriage bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 16 flat washers (5/16"), 16 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 8 self-drilling tek screws (#8 x 1/2").
The 409922 bracket package includes: 2 front mounting brackets (part 551855), 6 standard mounting brackets (part 551854), 8 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 UNC x 1.00", zinc plated), 8 flat washers (5/16", zinc plated), 8 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 8 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 UNC x 1.00", black plated), 8 flat washers (5/16", black plated), and 8 multi-thread U-nuts (5/16-18).
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand. For the 409922 bracket package, also follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle.
1. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step extrusion (item #1). 2. Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. 3. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 2. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts (items #5, 6, 7), attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket. Note: Some flange nuts may be supplied in the bracket package, not the step package. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners.
1. Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item #8) in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third patterns and in the front top hole of the fifth or rear pattern, with threads facing inside the rocker panel. Insert the threaded half through the large access holes and slide toward the round hole until it seats. 2. Position the brackets so the top hole lines up with the U-nut and the bottom hole lines up with the pinch weld hole. 3. Attach the top with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item #6) and 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item #7). 4. Attach the bottom to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw (item #3), 5/16" black-plated flat washer (item #4), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #5). 5. Level the brackets and tighten the bolts.
The front mounting bracket (item #1) for the 409922 has a 3/16" offset at the top of the bracket. This offset is designed to properly position the bracket on the vehicle. Position the bracket so the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut and the bottom hole lines up with the pinch weld hole.
The U-nut threads must face inside the rocker panel. Install the U-nuts by inserting the threaded half through the large access holes and sliding the U-nut toward the round hole until it seats. This ensures the threads are positioned correctly on the inside of the rocker panel.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to the carriage bolts, hex head cap screws, and all other 5/16" fasteners used in the grip step and bracket assembly.
The carriage bolts are 5/16-18 x 1" stainless steel. Each grip step assembly requires 16 carriage bolts (8 per step), along with 16 washers and 16 serrated flange nuts.
Two types of 5/16-18 UNC x 1.00" hex head cap screws are used: zinc-plated screws (item #6) for the top bracket attachment to the U-nut, and black-plated screws (item #3) for the bottom bracket attachment to the pinch weld. Each bracket package includes 8 of each type.
The self-drilling tek screws are #8 x 1/2" stainless steel with black finish. Eight screws are included in the grip step package, one for each end cap.
The flat washers for the grip step carriage bolts are 5/16" with .375" inner diameter and .875" outer diameter. The washers for the 409922 bracket installation are the same size: 5/16" with .375" ID x .875" OD x .083" thickness.
The 409922 brackets are designed for 1999 and newer Ford Super Duty Super/Crew Cab Pickups only.
The grip step package includes carriage bolts, washers, flange nuts, and tek screws. However, some flange nuts for the 409922 bracket installation are supplied in the bracket package, not the step package.
Yes. Follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The grip step instructions cover only the step assembly and attachment to the brackets.
