Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford F250 Super Duty, F350 Super Duty, F450 Super Duty and F550 Super Duty (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Curt offers two universal Grip Step models: 415078 (77.62" extrusion) and 415088 (87.75" extrusion). Both are boards only and require a separate bracket package for mounting to your vehicle.
Yes, the 409922 step bracket is designed for 1999 and newer Ford Super Duty Super/Crew Cab Pickups. The bracket package includes front and rear mounting brackets specifically engineered for this application.
The 415078 and 415088 Grip Steps are universal applications. They can be mounted to any vehicle using the appropriate bracket package for your specific vehicle. The main difference between the two models is the extrusion length: 415078 is 77.62" and 415088 is 87.75".
Each Grip Step package (415078 or 415088) includes: 2 step extrusions, 8 upper support braces, 4 end caps, 8 lower spacer plates, 16 carriage bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 16 flat washers, 16 serrated flange nuts, and 8 self-drilling tek screws (#8 x 1/2"). Note that some flange nuts may be supplied in the bracket package instead of the step package.
The 409922 bracket package includes: 2 front mounting brackets (part 551855), 6 rear mounting brackets (part 551854), 8 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 UNC x 1.00", zinc plated), 8 flat washers (5/16", zinc plated), 8 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18 UNC), 8 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 UNC x 1.00", black plated), 8 flat washers (5/16", black plated), and 8 multi-thread U-nuts (5/16-18 UNC).
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand before starting. For the 409922 bracket installation, also ensure you have the specific bracket package instructions for your vehicle, as the manual references separate mounting instructions that must be followed first.
1. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step extrusion (item #1). 2. Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. 3. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw, screw the end cap to the bottom of the step. 4. Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 5. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 6. Attach using the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts.
Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step.
Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (item #8) in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third rocker panel patterns and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it towards the round hole until it seats. The threads must face to the inside of the rocker panel.
Position the brackets so the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut and the bottom hole lines up with the hole in the pinch weld. Attach the top of the bracket with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw (item #6) and 5/16" zinc-plated flat washer (item #7). Attach the bottom to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw (item #3), 5/16" black-plated flat washer (item #4), and 5/16" serrated flange nut (item #5). Level the brackets and tighten all bolts.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to the carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
The carriage bolts are 5/16-18 x 1.0" stainless steel (part #108683). Sixteen bolts are supplied in each Grip Step package. They are used with flat washers and serrated flange nuts to attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets, and must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The self-drilling tek screws are #8-18 x 1/2" stainless steel with black finish (part #107958). Eight screws are supplied in each Grip Step package. They are used to attach the end caps to the bottom of the step.
The 409922 bracket package uses two types of 5/16-18 UNC x 1.00" hex head cap screws: 8 zinc-plated (part #100647) for the top bracket attachment and 8 black-plated (part #106997) for the pinch weld attachment. Both are used with 5/16" flat washers and 5/16" serrated flange nuts. The zinc-plated washers (part #100034) are used with the zinc-plated screws, and black-plated washers (part #106998) with the black-plated screws.
The front mounting bracket (item #1) on the 409922 has a 3/16" offset at the top of the bracket. This offset is designed into the bracket and must be accounted for when positioning it on the vehicle.
After installation, set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners. For the 409922 brackets, ensure the brackets are leveled before final tightening. All 5/16" fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
