Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Model 415114 GRIP STEP is a universal step board assembly consisting of an aluminum extrusion (part 551388, 113.62" long), support braces, end caps, spacer plates, and fasteners. The board can be cut to a shorter length to fit different vehicles. The step board itself is supplied without mounting brackets; you must purchase the appropriate bracket package separately and follow its installation instructions to mount the brackets to your vehicle.
The Model 401632 bracket kit is designed for 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab and Crew Cab pickups, and 2010 and newer Dodge Ram HD Crew Cab, Mega Cab, and Chassis Cab pickups.
To cut the board to length, you will need a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. You will also need flat black paint to touch up the cut ends. For assembly, you will need a screwdriver or power drill to install the #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws and the 5/16-18 carriage bolts. A wrench or socket set will be needed to tighten the carriage bolts and flange nuts.
You will need a wrench or socket set to install and tighten the 1/4-20 carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts on the lower mounting flange. For the upper mounting flange, you will need a hex socket or wrench to install the M8 x 25mm screws and M8 flange nuts. If your truck is a 2009–2012 model without factory obround holes in the pinchweld, you will also need a drill with a 5/16" drill bit to create the mounting holes.
Yes. The board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. You determine how long you need the board and cut it to that length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends to protect them.
1. Cut the board to the required length and paint the cut ends. 2. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (part 551296) into the channel of the step board (part 551388). 3. Slide the end caps (part 551394) over the front and rear of the step. 4. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws (part 107958), screw the end caps to the bottom of the step. After assembly, the step is ready to be mounted to the brackets.
1. Set the assembled step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 3. Attach the flat spacer plate (part 551298) to the bottom of the step, positioned between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 4. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts (part 108683), washers (part 101369), and flange nuts (part 102680), attach the step assembly, spacer plate, and mounting bracket together. Note that some flange nuts may be supplied in the bracket package rather than the step package. 5. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (part 553092) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (part 101320) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld, add a 1/4" flat washer (part 101370) and 1/4-20 flange nut (part 102366), and leave finger tight. 4. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (part 102549) with a 5/16" flat washer (part 100034) through the slots on the upper mounting flange and leave finger tight. 5. Repeat for the middle and rear brackets (part 553093). 6. On the passenger side, use part 553093 for the front bracket and part 553092 for the middle and rear brackets (mirror image). 7. Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (part 553012) into the large obround hole on the vertical wall of the rocker panel, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (part 101572) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (part 553092) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 4. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (part 101320) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld, add a 1/4" flat washer (part 101370) and 1/4-20 flange nut (part 102366), and leave finger tight. 5. Place a flat washer (part 100034) and M8 flange nut (part 105859) on the threaded stud of the T-bolt and leave finger tight. 6. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 7. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (part 102549) with a 5/16" flat washer (part 100034) and leave finger tight. 8. Repeat steps 1–7 for the middle and rear brackets (part 553093). 9. On the passenger side, use part 553093 for the front bracket and part 553092 for the middle and rear brackets (mirror image). 10. Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners.
Yes, if your truck does not have obround holes in the pinchweld. 2009 to 2012 trucks do not have factory obround holes and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, follow the installation steps with the bracket in place, then mark the pinchweld for drilling. Use a 5/16" drill bit to create the holes at the marked locations.
All fasteners on the Model 415114 step assembly must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly, spacer plate, and mounting bracket together.
The step board is attached using 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts (part 108683), 5/16" flat washers (part 101369), and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (part 102680). These fasteners pass through the flat spacer plate (part 551298) and connect the step assembly to the mounting brackets. All fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The lower mounting flange uses 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (part 101320), 1/4" flat washers (part 101370), and 1/4-20 flange nuts (part 102366). These fasteners attach the bracket to the pinchweld of the vehicle.
The upper mounting flange uses M8 x 25mm hex head screws (part 102549) and 5/16" flat washers (part 100034). For trucks with factory threaded inserts, these screws are inserted through the slots on the upper mounting flange. For trucks without threaded inserts, an M8 flange nut (part 105859) is also used on the T-bolt weldment.
