LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 3500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Model 415114 GRIP STEPS are universal step boards designed to be mounted to bracket packages. The kit includes two extrusions (part 551388, 113.62" long), support braces, end caps, spacer plates, and fasteners. The step board can be cut to length to fit various applications using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw.
The Model 401338 REGAL 7/GRIP STEP BRACKET KIT is designed specifically for 2013 and newer Dodge Ram 3500 cab pickups. If your vehicle is a different model, year, or cab style, you will need a different bracket package. Consult the bracket package instructions for your specific vehicle.
The Model 415114 step board (part 551388) is supplied at 113.62" long. However, the board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. You determine the required length and cut the board using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends.
The manual specifies tools for cutting the step board to length: a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. For assembly and attachment, you will need tools to drive screws and tighten bolts (likely a socket set, wrench, or impact driver), and a torque wrench to torque fasteners to 19 LB FT. The manual does not specify other tools required for bracket installation; refer to the bracket package instructions.
The Model 415114 kit includes: 20 carriage bolts (5/16-18 x 1.0", part 108683), 20 flat washers (5/16", part 101369), 20 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, part 102680), and 8 self-drilling tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2", part 107958). Note: some flange nuts for the carriage bolts are supplied in the specific bracket package, not the step package.
The Model 401338 kit includes: 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 x 1.00", part 101320), 12 flat washers (1/4", part 101370), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20, part 102366), 12 hex head screws (M8 x 25mm, part 102549), 12 flat washers (5/16", part 100034), 6 M8 flange nuts (part 105859), 6 T-bolt weldments (part 553012), 6 plastic bolt retainers (part 101572), 6 3/8" bolts (part 100040), 6 3/8" flat washers (part 100062), and 6 3/8" serrated flange nuts (part 100181).
The assembly order is: (1) Slide the appropriate number of support braces (part 551296) into the channel of the step board (part 551388). (2) Slide the end cap (part 551394) over the front and rear of each step. (3) Screw the end cap to the bottom of the step using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (part 107958). (4) Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. (5) Attach the flat spacer plate (part 551298) between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. (6) Attach using carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts (parts 108683, 101369, 102680).
Yes. The manual states: "Follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle." The step assembly is attached to the mounting brackets after the brackets are installed on the vehicle. Refer to the bracket package instructions for your specific vehicle.
Slide the end cap (part 551394) over the front and rear of each step board. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (part 107958), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step. The manual does not specify the number of screws per end cap or their exact placement; refer to the bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer if clarification is needed.
The manual states to "slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step." The service parts list shows 10 support braces (part 551296) are supplied. The exact number required depends on the step board length and application. Refer to the bracket package instructions for your specific vehicle to determine the correct number.
For the driver's side front bracket: (1) Place the front bracket (part 553092) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. (2) Align the two rectangular holes in the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. (3) Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (part 101320) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. (4) Add a 1/4" flat washer (part 101370) and 1/4-20 flange nut (part 102366); leave finger tight. (5) Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (part 102549) with a 5/16" flat washer (part 100034) through the slots on the upper mounting flange; leave finger tight. (6) Repeat for middle and rear brackets. (7) For the passenger side, use the mirror image configuration with part 553093 for the front bracket and part 553092 for the middle and rear brackets.
For trucks without threaded inserts: (1) Install the T-bolt weldment (part 553012) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel's vertical wall, inserting the nut end first. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. (2) Attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (part 101572) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling. (3) Place the driver's side front bracket (part 553092) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. (4) Align and insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (part 101320) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. (5) Add a 1/4" flat washer (part 101370) and 1/4-20 flange nut (part 102366); leave finger tight. (6) Place a flat washer (part 100034) and M8 flange nut (part 105859) on the T-bolt's threaded stud; leave finger tight. (7) Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. (8) Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (part 102549) with a 5/16" flat washer (part 100034); leave finger tight. (9) Repeat for middle and rear brackets. (10) For the passenger side, use the mirror image configuration.
Loosen the bolt that fastens the leaf spring to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket (part 552147) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. Place a 3/8" bolt and washer (parts 100040, 100062) through the hole in the upper mounting bracket and frame bracket, then fasten with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (part 100181). Tighten the leaf spring bolt, making sure the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (part 552125) to the upper bracket (part 552147) using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut (parts 100040, 100062, 100181). Use the two lower holes in the upper bracket and make sure the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets.
All fasteners on the Model 415114 GRIP STEPS must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts (parts 108683, 101369, 102680) that attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket.
Yes. The step board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. Determine the required length and cut the board using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends. This modification is permanent and cannot be reversed.
When installing T-bolts (for trucks without threaded inserts in the rocker panel), be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. The manual also requires loosening the leaf spring bolt to install the upper mounting bracket at the shackle mount. Ensure the leaf spring bolt is properly tightened after installation. The manual does not provide other safety warnings; refer to the bracket package instructions for additional safety information.
The manual states to "set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners" and to torque all fasteners to 19 LB FT. After installation, verify that all fasteners are properly torqued to specification. The manual does not specify other post-installation checks or a retorque interval. Contact the manufacturer if you need guidance on maintenance or inspection schedules.
