LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 3500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The specific bracket package is ordered separately and contains additional fasteners.
The Model 401338 Regal 7/Grip Step Bracket Kit is designed for 2013 and newer Dodge Ram 3500 cab pickups.
The Model 415114 Grip Steps board is designed for universal applications. However, it must be used with a vehicle-specific bracket package. The board can be cut to length to fit many applications, and the appropriate bracket package for your vehicle must be ordered separately and installed according to its included instructions.
The Model 415114 Grip Steps board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. You must determine the required length for your vehicle and cut the board to that length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends.
1. Cut the board to the required length and paint the cut ends flat black. 2. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step board (item #1). 3. Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. 4. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step. 5. Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 6. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 7. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts (items #5, 6, 7), attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket. 8. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. 4. Place a 1/4" flat washer (item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #10) on each carriage bolt and leave finger-tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #12) through the slots on the upper mounting flange and leave finger-tight. 6. Repeat steps 1–5 for the middle and rear brackets (item #2). 7. For the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets (mirror image of driver's side).
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (item #14) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Use the plastic bolt retainer (item #15) on the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 4. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. 5. Place a 1/4" flat washer (item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #10) on each carriage bolt and leave finger-tight. 6. Place a flat washer (item #12) and M8 flange nut (item #13) on the threaded stud of the T-bolt and leave finger-tight. 7. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 8. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #12) and leave finger-tight. 9. Repeat steps 1–8 for the middle and rear brackets (item #2). 10. For the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets (mirror image of driver's side).
1. Loosen the bolt that fastens the leaf spring to the vehicle. 2. Slide the upper mounting bracket (item #4) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. 3. Place a 3/8" bolt and washer (items #5 and #7) through the hole in the upper mounting bracket and frame bracket. 4. Fasten with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #6). 5. Tighten the leaf spring bolt, ensuring that the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (item #3) to the upper bracket (item #4) using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut (items #5, #6, and #7). Use the two lower holes in the upper bracket and ensure that the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets.
All fasteners on the Model 415114 Grip Steps must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket.
The manual specifies that a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw is required to cut the grip step board to length. A torque wrench capable of measuring 19 LB FT is required for final fastener tightening. Flat black paint is needed to touch up the cut ends. The manual does not specify other tools required for bracket installation or fastener assembly.
The manual does not specify which tools are required to install the Model 401338 bracket kit. You will need standard tools to handle carriage bolts, screws, washers, and nuts, and a torque wrench to tighten fasteners, but the manual does not provide a tool list or torque specifications for the 401338 brackets.
No. The manual instructs you to leave fasteners finger-tight during initial assembly. Only after you have set the step plate in the correct position should you tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT. This allows for adjustment before final tightening.
No. The manual instructs you to install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. Leave fasteners finger-tight during initial assembly to allow for positioning and levelling adjustments.
The support braces (item #2) are structural components that must be slid into the channel of the step board before the step is attached to the mounting brackets. They provide support and must be positioned so that each brace slides over the top of each mounting bracket during assembly.
The flat spacer plate (item #4) is attached to the bottom of the step, positioned between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. It is fastened using the carriage bolt, washer, and flange nut assembly and helps distribute the load between the step and the bracket.
The end cap (item #3) is a black plastic component that slides over the front and rear of each step board. It is secured to the bottom of the step using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8). The end cap provides a finished appearance and protects the ends of the step board.
The T-bolt weldment (item #14) is used on Dodge Ram 3500 trucks without threaded inserts in the rocker panel. It is inserted into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud exposed. The plastic bolt retainer (item #15) is attached to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. The T-bolt provides a mounting point for the upper bracket fasteners.
Trucks with threaded inserts use M8 x 25mm screws (item #11) with 5/16" flat washers (item #12) inserted directly through the slots on the upper mounting flange. Trucks without threaded inserts require a T-bolt weldment (item #14) to be installed in the large obround hole first, with a plastic bolt retainer (item #15) to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel. The M8 x 25mm screw then fastens through the slotted hole into the T-bolt. Both types use the same lower mounting flange fasteners (1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts).
For the driver's side, use item #1 for the front bracket and item #2 for the middle and rear brackets. For the passenger side, the installation is a mirror image: use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets. This ensures proper fitment on both sides of the vehicle.
The manual requires that the upper mounting bracket (item #4) be level when tightening the leaf spring bolt, and that the lower bracket (item #3) sits level to the front brackets. This ensures that the step plates will be properly aligned and safe to use. Levelling should be checked before final tightening of all fasteners.
Model 415114 is universal but requires a vehicle-specific bracket package. Order the bracket kit for your vehicle and follow its instructions. The grip step board can be cut to fit many applications.
Model 401338 is designed for 2013 and newer Dodge Ram 3500 cab pickups. Confirm your truck year and cab style match before ordering.
Yes. The board must be cut to the required length for your application using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. Paint the cut ends flat black after cutting.
All fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT after the step is positioned correctly.
Leave all fasteners finger-tight during assembly. Tighten them to 19 LB FT only after the step plate is set in the correct position.
Use the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, 5/16" flat washers, and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts. Some flange nuts may be supplied in the bracket package, not the step package.
Use 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8), 1/4" flat washers (item #9), and 1/4-20 flange nuts (item #10). Leave finger-tight until all brackets are positioned and levelled.
