LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 3500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Model 415114 Grip Step is a universal step board assembly designed to be mounted to vehicles using a bracket package specific to your vehicle. It consists of an aluminum extrusion step board (item #1, part 551388), support braces, end caps, and fastening hardware. The board can be cut to a shorter length to fit various applications.
The Model 401338 Regal 7/Grip Step Bracket Kit is designed specifically for 2013 and newer Dodge Ram 3500 Cab Pickups. If you have a different vehicle or an older Ram 3500, you will need a different bracket package. Consult the specific bracket package instructions for your vehicle.
The Model 415114 Grip Step board is universal and can be adapted to many applications by cutting it to the required length. However, you must use a bracket package that is specific to your vehicle. The board alone does not include mounting brackets; you must follow the instructions included with your vehicle-specific bracket package to mount the brackets first.
The Model 415114 package includes: 2 aluminum extrusion step boards (part 551388), 10 upper support braces (part 551296), 4 end caps (part 551394), 14 lower spacer plates (part 551298), 20 carriage bolts 5/16-18 x 1" (part 108683), 20 flat washers 5/16" (part 101369), 20 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (part 102680), and 8 self-drilling tek screws #8 x 1/2" (part 107958). Note: some flange nuts may be supplied in the bracket package instead of the step package.
The Model 401338 bracket kit includes: 3 front/middle mounting brackets (parts 553092, 553093), 2 lower grip brackets (part 552125), 2 upper grip brackets (part 552147), 6 flat washers 3/8" (part 100062), 6 serrated flange nuts 3/8-16 (part 100181), 6 hex head screws 3/8-16 x 1.0" (part 100040), 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 x 1.0" (part 101320), 12 flat washers 1/4" (part 101370), 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 (part 102366), 12 hex head screws M8 x 25mm (part 102549), 12 flat washers 5/16" (part 100034), 6 M8 flange nuts (part 105859), 6 T-bolt weldments (part 553012), and 6 plastic bolt retainers 8mm (part 101572).
The manual mentions using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw to cut the step board to length. A socket wrench or wrench set is needed to tighten the carriage bolts and flange nuts to 19 LB FT torque. Flat black paint is recommended to touch up the cut ends. The manual does not specify other tools required for bracket installation; refer to your vehicle-specific bracket package instructions.
Yes. The manual explicitly states to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts are on hand before starting installation. For the Model 415114, you must also follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle first.
1. Read all instructions and verify all parts are present. 2. Install the mounting brackets to your vehicle using the instructions in your vehicle-specific bracket package. 3. Assemble the step board: insert support braces into the step channel, attach end caps with tek screws, and attach spacer plates. 4. Mount the assembled step to the brackets using carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts. 5. Tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT torque.
Yes. The board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. Determine the required length and cut using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends.
Before attaching the grip step to the brackets, slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step board (item #1). The support braces fit inside the step's channel and provide structural support when the step is mounted to the brackets.
Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step. One tek screw is used per end cap.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 3. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 4. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nut (items #5, #6, #7), attach the step assembly, spacer plate, and mounting bracket together. 5. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes in the lower flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8) through the lower flange and pinchweld. 4. Place a 1/4" flat washer (item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #10) on each bolt, leaving finger tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #12) through the slots on the upper mounting flange, leaving finger tight. 6. Repeat for middle and rear brackets (item #2). 7. For the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets (mirror image).
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (item #14) into the large obround hole on the vertical wall of the rocker panel, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. 2. Attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (item #15) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling. 3. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 4. Align and insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8) through the lower flange and pinchweld. 5. Place a 1/4" flat washer (item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #10) on each bolt, leaving finger tight. 6. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 7. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #12), leaving finger tight. 8. Place a flat washer (item #12) and M8 flange nut (item #13) on the T-bolt threaded stud, leaving finger tight. 9. Repeat for middle and rear brackets (item #2). 10. For the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets (mirror image).
1. Loosen the bolt that fastens the leaf spring to the vehicle. 2. Slide the upper mounting bracket (item #4) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. 3. Place a 3/8" bolt and washer (items #5, #7) through the hole in the upper mounting bracket and frame bracket. 4. Fasten with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #6). 5. Tighten the leaf spring bolt, making sure the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (item #3) to the upper bracket (item #4) using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut (items #5, #6, #7). Use the two lower holes in the upper bracket and make sure the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets.
Install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. This allows you to position everything correctly before final tightening.
All fasteners on the Model 415114 Grip Step assembly must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
The Model 415114 step is attached to the brackets using 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts (item #5), 5/16" flat washers (item #6), and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #7). These fasteners are torqued to 19 LB FT.
The lower pinchweld mounting uses 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8), 1/4" flat washers (item #9), and 1/4-20 flange nuts (item #10). The upper mounting flange uses M8 x 25mm hex head screws (item #11) with 5/16" flat washers (item #12).
The shackle mount attachment uses 3/8" bolts (item #5), 3/8" flat washers (item #7), and 3/8" serrated flange nuts (item #6). The lower bracket to upper bracket connection also uses 3/8" bolts, washers, and flange nuts (items #5, #6, #7).
The end caps are attached using #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws (item #8). One screw is used per end cap, fastening the cap to the bottom of the step.
