LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards for vans are the ideal work van accessories, adding safe, dependable footing to your cargo van with a vehicle-specific fit. Grip Step van steps are equipped with high-traction treads for fleet-approved safety, and they are made from powder-coated aluminum to be lightweight and provide long-lasting resistance to the elements. All Grip Step running boards are engineered for vehicle-specific installation. These van steps offer a custom fit for certain years and styles of the Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment with your cargo van). They come with two longer steps, one for the driver-side door and one for the passenger-side door. They also come with powder-coated steel brackets and stainless steel hardware for a complete install. Grip Step running boards for vans are optimized for delivery trucks, construction vehicles and other commercial vans. They feature a 7" width, covered with expanded metal treads to grip the bottom of your boots for safe entry and exit every time. The metal treads are also highly resistant to wear, and they help keep the steps clean with their open, through-hole design. The aluminum construction of LUVERNE Grip Step running boards makes them strong for a rigid step, but lightweight for optimized fuel efficiency. Aluminum is also highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize corrosion resistance, Grip Step van steps are shielded in a textured black powder coat finish. This gives them an impervious layer of protection against the elements and resists chipping and UV damage. The black running boards also complement the look and style of your cargo van, adding a professional finishing touch. To complete the look, we also offer rear Grip Step van steps, providing safe, convenient access to the rear cargo area.
Grip Step van running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work vans and cargo vans, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 98" Black Aluminum Running Boards, Select Ram ProMaster 415098-401475 (Part #FTNF415098-401475) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The Model 415114 GRIP STEPS are aluminum extrusion boards designed as step assemblies for vehicles. They are supplied as boards only and must be mounted to brackets using a support brace system. The boards can be cut to length to fit many applications and are finished in black.
The Model 415114 GRIP STEPS are listed for universal applications. However, you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle, as bracket fitment is vehicle-specific.
The Models 401475 and 571475 MEGA/GRIP STEPS are designed for 2014-newer RAM ProMaster vans.
To cut the board to length, you will need a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. A screwdriver is needed to install the #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws. A wrench or socket set is required to tighten the 5/16-18 carriage bolts and flange nuts. Flat black paint is needed to touch up the cut ends.
You will need an 11/32" drill bit, a 3/16" drill bit, a straight edge, a clamp, and a wrench or socket set. A scraper or wire brush is needed to remove undercoating from the pinch weld and angled surfaces. A body plug removal tool may be helpful.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting. You must also have the specific bracket package instructions for your vehicle, as the brackets are installed separately according to vehicle-specific instructions.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand. Ensure you have the correct bracket parts for your vehicle (driver's side or passenger's side) and that you understand whether you are installing MEGA or GRIP step boards, as bracket part numbers differ between them.
Yes. The board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. Determine the required length and cut using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the exposed ends.
1. Cut the board to the required length and paint the cut ends. 2. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step board (item #1). 3. Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step and secure with #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws (item #8) to the bottom of the step. 4. Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 5. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 6. Fasten using 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts (items #5, 6, 7). 7. Tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
Installation involves five main stages: (1) Preassemble the front bracket (item #1) with spacer bracket (item #6) using 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and flange nuts, finger-tight only. (2) Mark and drill the front bracket holes on the pinch weld using an 11/32" drill bit, then fasten with supplied fasteners. (3) Locate the vertical body line behind the driver's door, position the second bracket (item #2) on the pinch weld, mark all four holes, remove the bracket, and drill: two holes on the pinch weld and the rear angled hole with 11/32", and the front angled hole with 3/16". (4) Remove the body plug on the angled surface, install the ¼-20 U-nut (item #10) over the 11/32" hole, fasten the bracket with 5/16-18 bolts and washers, and secure the 3/16" hole with a 5/16 x ¾" self-tapping screw (item #11). (5) Align the front bracket top hole using a straight edge, drill with 11/32", install the U-nut, and tighten all fasteners.
1. Preassemble the rear brackets (item #8) with spacer brackets (item #7) using 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and flange nuts, finger-tight only. 2. Measure the distance between the pinch weld and the horizontal surface of the second bracket and record this measurement. 3. Using the measurements in Figure 3, position the preassembled brackets and mark their locations on the pinch weld. 4. Remove the bracket assembly and drill the marked locations with an 11/32" drill bit. 5. Reposition the bracket assemblies and fasten to the pinch weld using 5/16-18 bolts, washers, and nuts. 6. Verify the vertical bracket is 90 degrees to the body and measure the distance between the pinch weld and horizontal surface to confirm it matches the earlier measurement. Tighten all 5/16-18 bolts and flange nuts. 7. Mark one top hole for drilling, remove the bracket assembly, drill with a 3/16" drill bit, and reattach. 8. Fasten the top of the bracket to the inner rocker panel using a 5/16" self-tapping screw and washer (items #9 and #11) through the 3/16" hole. 9. Install the remaining two brackets in the same manner at their designated locations.
Attaching the brackets on the passenger side follows the same procedure as the driver's side (steps 2 through 4), except the second bracket will be item #3 instead of item #2. The rear brackets attach the same way as the driver's side.
Yes. Drilling is required at multiple locations. You will need to drill holes using an 11/32" drill bit for most bracket attachment points on the pinch weld and angled surfaces, and a 3/16" drill bit for the top holes that attach to the inner rocker panel. The manual specifies the exact locations and drill bit sizes for each hole.
Yes. Undercoating must be scraped off the pinch weld and angled surfaces so the brackets will sit flat. Additionally, undercoating must be removed from the area where the ¼-20 U-nuts will be installed to ensure proper positioning.
Yes. Body plugs must be removed at two locations: one on the angled surface toward the rear of the vehicle (for the second bracket installation) and one just next to the top hole of the front bracket. These plugs are removed to allow installation of the ¼-20 U-nuts (item #10) over the 11/32" holes.
All fasteners for the Model 415114 GRIP STEPS must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
The step assembly is attached to the mounting brackets using 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts (item #5), 5/16" flat washers (item #6), and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #7). Note that some flange nuts may be supplied in the specific bracket package rather than the step package.
The end caps (item #3) are attached to the bottom of the step using #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws (item #8). These screws are supplied with the step package.
The front bracket is fastened to the pinch weld using 5/16-18 x 1.00" hex head cap screws (item #12), 5/16" flat washers (item #13), and 5/16-18 hex flange nuts (item #15). The top hole is fastened using a ¼-20 bolt (item #16) and ¼" flat washer (item #17) through a ¼-20 U-nut (item #10).
The second bracket is fastened to the pinch weld using 5/16-18 bolts (item #9), 5/16" washers (item #14), and 5/16-18 flange nuts (item #15). A ¼-20 U-nut (item #10) is installed over the 11/32" hole on the angled surface, secured with a ¼-20 bolt (item #16) and ¼" washer (item #17). The 3/16" hole is fastened using a 5/16 x ¾" self-tapping screw (item #11).
The rear brackets are fastened to the pinch weld using 5/16-18 bolts (item #14), 5/16" washers (item #9), and 5/16-18 hex flange nuts (item #15). The top of each bracket is fastened to the inner rocker panel using a 5/16" self-tapping screw (item #9) and washer (item #11) through the 3/16" drilled hole.
Two drill bit sizes are required: 11/32" drill bit for most bracket attachment holes on the pinch weld and angled surfaces, and 3/16" drill bit for the top holes that attach to the inner rocker panel.
The support braces (item #2) are galvanized steel components. The service parts list indicates 10 support braces are supplied. The exact dimensions are not specified in the manual, but they are designed to slide into the channel of the step extrusion and over the top of the mounting brackets.
The Model 415114 GRIP STEPS board (item #1, part #551388) is an aluminum extrusion measuring 113.62 inches in length. However, the board can be cut to a shorter length to fit specific applications. Two boards are supplied.
After installation, verify that all fasteners have been tightened to the specified torque of 19 LB FT. Ensure the step is positioned correctly and securely attached to the mounting brackets. Check that all end caps are properly secured with the tek screws and that there are no gaps between the step and brackets.
After installation, verify that all fasteners are fully tightened. Ensure the vertical brackets are 90 degrees to the vehicle body. Check that the distance between the pinch weld and the horizontal surface of the brackets matches the measurement taken during installation. Confirm that all brackets are securely fastened and that there are no gaps or movement.
The Model 415114 is for universal applications, but fitment depends on the specific bracket package for your vehicle. Consult the bracket package instructions for your vehicle model.
