LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards for vans are the ideal work van accessories, adding safe, dependable footing to your cargo van with a vehicle-specific fit. Grip Step van steps are equipped with high-traction treads for fleet-approved safety, and they are made from powder-coated aluminum to be lightweight and provide long-lasting resistance to the elements. All Grip Step running boards are engineered for vehicle-specific installation. These van steps offer a custom fit for certain years and styles of the Chevy Express 1500, 2500 or 3500 and GMC Savana 1500, 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment with your cargo van). They come with two longer steps, one for the driver-side door and one for the passenger-side door. They also come with powder-coated steel brackets and stainless steel hardware for a complete install. Grip Step running boards for vans are optimized for delivery trucks, construction vehicles and other commercial vans. They feature a 7" width, covered with expanded metal treads to grip the bottom of your boots for safe entry and exit every time. The metal treads are also highly resistant to wear, and they help keep the steps clean with their open, through-hole design. The aluminum construction of LUVERNE Grip Step running boards makes them strong for a rigid step, but lightweight for optimized fuel efficiency. Aluminum is also highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize corrosion resistance, Grip Step van steps are shielded in a textured black powder coat finish. This gives them an impervious layer of protection against the elements and resists chipping and UV damage. The black running boards also complement the look and style of your cargo van, adding a professional finishing touch. To complete the look, we also offer rear Grip Step van steps, providing safe, convenient access to the rear cargo area.
Grip Step van running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work vans and cargo vans, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Model 415114 GRIP STEPS are universal aluminum extrusion boards designed to be mounted to vehicles using a separate bracket package. The boards are 113.62 inches long and can be cut to fit many applications. They feature a black finish and include support braces, end caps, and fasteners for assembly and mounting.
The Model 401345 GRIP STEPS are designed for 2003 and newer Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans with a 135-inch wheelbase. The installation instructions cover 1500, 2500, and 3500 models, with different U-nut hole positions depending on the van model (top hole for 1500 vans; bottom hole for 2500 and 3500 vans).
No. The Model 415114 GRIP STEPS are universal boards only. They require a specific bracket package to mount to your vehicle. The bracket package instructions must be followed separately to mount the brackets to your vehicle. Check with the supplier or manufacturer to confirm which bracket package is compatible with your vehicle.
To assemble the Model 415114 boards, you will need a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw to cut the board to length. To attach the boards to the mounting brackets, you will need a torque wrench to tighten fasteners to 19 lb-ft. A screwdriver is needed to install the self-drilling tek screws into the end caps.
You will need a socket wrench or wrench set to remove and install body mounting bolts and spring shackle bolts. A torque wrench is required to tighten all fasteners to 65 lb-ft. A screwdriver may be helpful for handling small components. A measuring tape is needed to ensure mounting brackets are at the same height.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting. You will also need to follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package, as the boards alone do not include mounting brackets.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand. Identify your van model (1500, 2500, or 3500) as this determines which hole the U-nuts are installed in. Ensure you have access to the left and right sides of the vehicle to remove and reinstall body mounting bolts and spring shackle bolts.
Yes. The board can be modified from its original 113.62-inch length to fit many applications. Use a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw to cut the board to the desired length. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends to protect them and maintain the appearance.
1. Cut the board to the desired length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw, and touch up cut ends with flat black paint. 2. Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step board (item #1). 3. Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. 4. Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step.
1. Set the assembled step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 2. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts (items #5, 6, 7), attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket. Note: some flange nuts may be supplied in the bracket package, not the step package. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
1. Remove the front body mounting bolt (reuse the bolt, steel washer, and rubber cushion). 2. Install the multi-thread U-nut (item #11) on the front mounting bracket (item #2), selecting the top hole for 1500 vans or bottom hole for 2500 and 3500 vans. 3. Install the front bracket with the washer and rubber cushion between bracket and body, with the step end perpendicular to the body. Tighten to 65 lb-ft. 4. Install the load reaction bolt assembly using a 3/8"-16 x 5" hex bolt (item #9) and serrated flange nuts (item #10). 5. Remove the second body mounting bolt. 6. Install the U-nut on the second bracket (item #5) and cap plug (item #13). 7. Install the second bracket with washer and rubber cushion. Tighten to 65 lb-ft. 8. Install the load reaction bolt assembly using a 3/8"-16 x 1-3/4" hex bolt (item #8). 9. Measure from the body flange to the bottom of both brackets to ensure they are level. 10. Remove the nut and washer from the front spring shackle bolt, install the spacer washer (item #15), third bracket (item #6), 5/8" flat washer (item #12), and factory nut. Tighten to 65 lb-ft. 11. Repeat steps 1-10 on the right side.
Install a 3/8"-16 serrated flange nut (item #10) on the hex bolt with the flange facing toward the end of the bolt and turn on just short of the head. Screw the bolt into the U-nut. When it comes through the other side, start another flange nut facing the same direction as the first nut. For the front bracket (item #2), turn the nut on until there is 3/4" protruding from the face of the nut, then install a 3/8" flat washer (item #16) and the .354 x 1.00 x .748 rubber washer (item #14) into the end of the bolt. Adjust the assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame and tighten the outside flange nut. For the second bracket (item #5), adjust the assembly so the rubber plug is snug against the frame and tighten the outside flange nut.
After mounting the first and second brackets on each side, measure from the bottom of the body flange down to the bottom of the mounting brackets to make sure they are the same height. When installing the third bracket, adjust it to this same dimension before tightening the bolts.
After all mounting brackets are installed on both sides of the vehicle, the boards attach to the mounting brackets. Refer to the instruction sheet included with your GRIP STEP boards (Model 415114 or equivalent) for the specific mounting procedure.
All fasteners attaching the step assembly to the mounting brackets must be torqued to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts (items #5, 6, 7) that secure the step plate to the mounting brackets.
The body mounting bolts for the front and second mounting brackets must be torqued to 65 lb-ft. This applies to the factory bolts that are removed and reinstalled with the new mounting brackets.
The spring shackle bolt must be torqued to 65 lb-ft. This applies when the third mounting bracket is installed on the spring shackle bolt with the spacer washer, flat washer, and factory nut.
The carriage bolts used to attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets are 5/16-18 x 1" stainless steel (item #5). They are used with 5/16" stainless steel flat washers (item #6) and 5/16-18 stainless steel serrated flange nuts (item #7). All fasteners are torqued to 19 lb-ft.
The front load reaction bolt is a 3/8"-16 x 5" hex cap screw, zinc-plated (item #9). It is used with 3/8"-16 serrated flange nuts (item #10), a 3/8" stainless steel flat washer (item #16), and a .354 x 1.00 x .748 rubber washer (item #14). The bolt is torqued to 65 lb-ft.
The second load reaction bolt is a 3/8"-16 x 1-3/4" hex washer head screw, zinc-plated (item #8). It is used with 3/8"-16 serrated flange nuts (item #10). The bolt is torqued to 65 lb-ft.
The Model 415114 GRIP STEP board is 113.62 inches long. The board is an aluminum extrusion and can be cut to a shorter length to fit various applications.
The end caps are attached using #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws, stainless steel with black finish (item #8). Eight screws are supplied in the package. The screws are driven into the bottom of the step board to secure the end caps.
When cutting the board to length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw, follow the safety procedures for your cutting tool. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends to protect them from corrosion and maintain the appearance of the step.
The rubber cushions and rubber washers in the load reaction bolt assembly must be snug against the frame before final tightening. This ensures proper load distribution and prevents damage to the vehicle frame. Do not over-tighten the fasteners; follow the specified torque of 65 lb-ft.
The Model 401345 fits 2003 and newer Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans with a 135-inch wheelbase in 1500, 2500, and 3500 models. Installation varies by model: 1500 vans use the top U-nut hole, while 2500 and 3500 vans use the bottom hole.
