LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Express 1500, 2500 or 3500 and GMC Savana 1500, 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Model 570344 MEGA STEPS are designed for 2003 and newer Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans with a 135" wheelbase. If your van meets these specifications, the product is compatible. Verify your van's model year, make, model, and wheelbase before purchasing.
Yes. The U-nut (Item #10) must be installed in the top hole for 1500 vans, and in the bottom hole for 2500 and 3500 vans. This applies to both the front mounting brackets (Items #3 and #4) and the second mounting brackets (Item #5). Verify your van's model designation before installation to ensure the U-nut is placed in the correct hole.
The kit includes: step assemblies, six mounting brackets (front left, front right, two center, and rear), hex head cap screws, hex washer head screws, serrated flange nuts, U-nuts, flat washers, rubber washers, cap plugs, a spacer washer, square head screws, and hex flange nuts. The square head screws (Item #16) and hex flange nuts (Item #17) are included in the step assembly. Verify all parts are present before starting installation by checking against the Service Parts List.
Yes. You must remove the factory body mounting bolts from both the left and right sides of the vehicle. These factory bolts, steel washers, and rubber cushions are reused as part of the installation. Remove the front body mounting bolt first (Step 1 for left side, Step 9 for right side), then the second body mounting bolt (Step 5 for left side, Step 13 for right side). Save all removed hardware for reuse.
Both the front mounting brackets (Items #3 and #4) and the second mounting brackets (Item #5) must be tightened to 65 lb. ft. This torque is applied to the factory body mounting bolt after the bracket, washer, and rubber cushion are installed. The step end of each bracket should be perpendicular to the outside body before tightening.
Install a 3/8"-16 serrated flange nut (Item #9) on the 3/8"-16 X 5" hex bolt (Item #7) with the flange facing toward the end of the bolt, turned on just short of the head. Screw the bolt into the U-nut. When it comes through the other side, start another flange nut facing the same direction as the first. Turn the nut on until there is 3/4" protruding from the face of the nut. Install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #12) and the .354 X 1.00 X .748 rubber washer (Item #14) into the end of the bolt. Adjust the assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame, then tighten the outside flange nut.
Install a 3/8"-16 serrated flange nut (Item #9) on the 3/8"-16 X 1-3/4" hex bolt (Item #8) with the flange facing toward the end of the bolt, turned on just short of the head. Screw the bolt into the U-nut. When it comes through the other side, adjust the load reaction bolt assembly so that the rubber plug is snug against the frame, then tighten the outside flange nut. A cap plug (Item #13) is installed on the U-nut before this assembly.
Remove the nut and washer from the front spring shackle bolt and save the nut for reuse. Install the black spacer washer (Item #15), mounting bracket (Item #6), 5/8" flat washer (Item #11), and the factory nut onto the spring shackle bolt. Adjust the height and tighten to 65 lb. ft. Measure from the bottom of the body flange down to the bottom of the mounting brackets to ensure all brackets are at the same height before final tightening.
Install four square head screws, 5/16"-18 X 1" (Item #16) in the front track of the step plates. Position the MEGA STEPS on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #17) on the square head screws and finger tighten only at this time. Align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal so the top of the step is approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel.
The step plate bolts must be tightened to 19 foot pounds of torque. This is the final tightening step after the step plates are aligned with the bottom of the body sheet metal and the top of the step is approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel.
The top of the step should be approximately 2-1/2" from the bottom of the body panel. Align the step plate with the bottom of the body sheet metal before tightening the step plate bolts. All mounting brackets should be measured to ensure they are at the same height before final tightening.
Yes. When installing the front mounting brackets (Items #3 and #4) and the second mounting brackets (Item #5), the step end of each bracket should be perpendicular to the outside body. This ensures proper alignment and function of the MEGA STEPS.
Yes. The manual explicitly instructs you to read the instructions completely and check to make sure that all required parts listed on the Service Parts List are on hand before starting the installation. This ensures you have all necessary components and understand the full installation sequence.
