LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ford Transit-150, Transit-250 and Transit-350 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit 571724 is a mounting system for step boards on 2015 and newer Ford Transit Van Long/Long models. It consists of five mounting brackets (front, middle, rear, AC, and AC top) that attach to the vehicle's rocker panel and pinch weld using U-bolts, T-bolts, and fasteners to provide secure anchor points for a step board.
The Curt 571724 Mega/Omega Step Bracket Kit is designed for 2015 and newer Ford Transit Van Long/Long models only. Confirm your vehicle is a Long/Long wheelbase and cab configuration before purchasing.
Required tools are: ratchet, 1/2" wrench, 1/2" socket, drill with bits (3/32", 3/8", and 19/64"), putty knife, flat screwdriver, and marker. The putty knife is essential to protect the plastic rocker molding during drilling.
The kit includes: 3 U-Bolts 3.00", 2 U-Bolts 3.75", 13 bolt retainers, 16 5/16" lock washers, 8 5/16" washers, 13 M8 flange nuts, 16 M8 hex bolts, 14 M8 clip nuts, 2 5/16" thread cutting bolts, 1 T-bolt weldment, and 4 nylon spacer washers. Five mounting brackets are also included: 3 front (553204), 2 middle (553206), 1 rear (553208), 1 AC (553211), and 1 AC top (553212).
You do not need to remove the plastic rocker molding completely. You only need to release the bottom push pins from the underside using a flat-head screwdriver. The manual specifically states: "Do not remove plastic trim all the way only release the bottom push pins."
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill pilot holes using a 3/32" drill bit, then enlarge them to 3/8" for the lower mounting holes on the rocker panel and pinch weld. For the AC bracket, drill two upper holes with a 19/64" bit and two lower holes with a 3/8" bit. A putty knife must be placed between the pinch weld and plastic rocker molding to avoid damaging the molding during drilling.
You need three drill bits: 3/32" (for pilot holes), 3/8" (for lower mounting holes on rocker panel), and 19/64" (for upper AC bracket holes). The 3/32" pilot holes are enlarged to 3/8" in a second step.
Installation proceeds in this order: (1) Start on the passenger side and locate mounting locations using figures 1 and 3. (2) Mark holes on the rocker and pinch weld. (3) Drill pilot holes with 3/32" bit, then enlarge to 3/8". (4) Release bottom push pins on plastic trim. (5) Install the first bracket using U-bolts and fasteners, leaving it loose. (6) Repeat for the second bracket. (7) Move to the 3rd and 4th brackets (which use factory studs or pre-drilled holes with 3.75" U-bolts). (8) Install the 5th bracket using a T-bolt weldment. (9) Install the AC bracket. (10) Place the step board on the brackets and tighten all brackets so the board is level.
Yes. You begin on the passenger side (Steps 1-6), then move to the driver side (Steps 7-8) and repeat the same mounting procedure using figures 2 and 4 for location reference.
For the first two front mounting brackets: (1) Insert a 3" U-bolt through the top two mounting holes and secure with two plastic bolt retainers. (2) Slide two clip nuts onto the pinch weld for the bottom mounting locations. (3) Slide the front mounting bracket onto the U-bolts and secure with two 5/16" flat washers and two 8mm nuts on the studs, plus two 5/16" lock washers and two 8mm bolts in the clip nuts. Leave all brackets loose until the end.
The 3rd and 4th brackets differ based on your vehicle: if your Transit Van has factory studs, use those as mounting locations. If it does not have factory studs, holes are pre-drilled in the rocker panel and you use 3.75" U-bolts with plastic bolt retainers. Follow the same drilling and marking procedure as the first two brackets.
For the 5th (rear) mounting bracket: (1) Drill the lower mounting holes using a 3/32" pilot bit followed by a 3/8" bit. (2) Insert an 8mm T-bolt weldment with a plastic retainer clip to secure it in place. (3) Slide the rear mounting bracket onto the T-bolts and secure with one 8mm nut and two 8mm bolts. Leave the bracket loose until the end.
For the AC bracket: (1) Assemble it first using two M8 bolts, two 5/16" washers, and two M8 nuts. (2) Position it along the pinch seam using figures 2 and 4 and mark the four hole locations. (3) Drill the two upper holes with a 19/64" bit and the two lower holes with a 3/8" bit. (4) Slide two clip nuts onto the pinch weld for the lower holes. (5) Attach the AC bracket using two 8mm bolts and two 5/16" lock washers on the bottom clip nuts, and two 5/16" thread cutting bolts and two 5/16" lock washers on the upper holes. Leave loose until the end.
All brackets must remain loose during installation. Only after the step board is placed on all the brackets should you tighten all brackets so the board is level. The manual states: "Leave ALL brackets Loose at this time" and "Place step board on brackets tighten all brackets so the board is level."
The front mounting bracket is secured to the 3" U-bolts using: two 5/16" flat washers and two 8mm nuts on the top studs, plus two 5/16" lock washers and two 8mm bolts in the clip nuts at the bottom.
The plastic bolt retainers secure the U-bolts in place. Two retainers are used with the 3" U-bolts on the top mounting holes of the front brackets, and additional retainers are used with the 3.75" U-bolts on the 3rd and 4th brackets.
Clip nuts slide onto the pinch weld to provide mounting points for the lower holes of the brackets. They are used on the front, middle, and AC brackets to secure fasteners without drilling through the pinch weld itself.
The putty knife must be placed between the pinch weld and the plastic rocker molding to protect the molding from damage during drilling. This is a required precaution to avoid cracking or breaking the plastic trim.
Yes, if your vehicle is a 2015 or newer Ford Transit Van with Long/Long wheelbase and cab configuration. This kit is designed specifically for that model and year range.
You need a ratchet, 1/2" wrench, 1/2" socket, drill with 3/32", 3/8", and 19/64" bits, putty knife, flat screwdriver, and marker.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill pilot holes with a 3/32" bit and enlarge them to 3/8" for the rocker panel. The AC bracket requires additional holes drilled with a 19/64" bit. A putty knife must protect the plastic rocker molding during drilling.
No, you do not remove the plastic rocker molding. You only release the bottom push pins from underneath using a flat-head screwdriver.
Keep all brackets loose during installation. Tighten them only after placing the step board on the brackets, ensuring the board is level.
