MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

Yes, the 571032/401032 SES/GRIP Step Brackets fit 2009–2016 RAM Crew Cab, Quad Cab, and Mega Cab pickups. The installation procedure differs slightly between Quad/Crew Cab and Mega Cab models, particularly for the rear bracket orientation. Refer to the appropriate figure in your manual for your cab style.
Yes, the brackets fit heavy duty diesel pickups, but with one important difference: heavy duty pickups with diesel engines do not use the center load reaction stud. The front and rear studs are still required. Additionally, the rear mounting bracket uses a longer M12–160 mm bolt (item #10) instead of the standard M12–110 mm bolt used on light duty pickups.
The kit includes front, center, and rear mounting brackets (left and right); load reaction studs (4" for front, 3" for rear); M12 hex head bolts in two lengths; serrated flange nuts; flat washers in two sizes; rubber cushion washers; and 3/8-16 screws with washers and nuts for rear bracket assembly. A complete parts list with part numbers and quantities is provided in the manual. Step plate assembly is sold separately and includes its own instructions.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts on the right side of the vehicle. These factory bolts will not be reused. They are replaced with the M12–110 mm bolts (or M12–160 mm on heavy duty pickups for the rear mount) supplied in the kit.
Only if you have a 1500 pickup and a cast iron dampener is present on the rear body mount. If present, it must be removed and will not be reused. Heavy duty pickups do not have this dampener.
1. On the short threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8" flat washer and rubber cushion washer tight against the serrated flange nut. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud for the front bracket and 3" studs for the rear brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a flange nut on the outboard end of the stud, but leave it finger tight only at this stage. Do not fully tighten until after positioning the rubber cushion snug against the frame.
Leave all body mount bolts (items 9 and 10) and the outboard flange nuts on the load reaction studs finger tight during initial installation. Do not fully tighten these fasteners until after you have positioned the load reaction stud assemblies so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame.
Use three 3/8-16 × 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items 17, 13, 14). For light duty pickups, install in the lower hole locations. For heavy duty pickups, install in the upper hole locations. Refer to Figure 1 in your manual for the correct hole positions.
Yes. The orientation of the rear bracket differs between Quad/Crew Cab pickups and Mega Cab pickups. Refer to Figure 2 for Quad/Crew Cab installation and Figure 3 for Mega Cab installation to ensure correct positioning.
Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud bracket to 19 lb-ft. This is done after positioning the rubber cushion snug against the side of the frame.
Yes. The step plate assembly has its own separate instructions that must be followed. The bracket installation instructions cover only the mounting brackets and load reaction studs. Attach the step plate per the instructions included with your step plate assembly.
