LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality. They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the Curt 571632 SES, MEGA/OMEGA step bracket kit is designed for 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 Quad and Crew Cab pickups. Confirm your truck has either threaded inserts in the rocker panel or obround holes in the pinchweld. If your 2009–2012 truck does not have obround holes in the pinchweld, you will need to drill two 5/16" holes per bracket.
Yes, the 571632 kit is compatible with 2010 and newer Dodge Ram HD Crew Cab and Mega Cab pickups, as well as chassis cabs.
No. The 571632 kit works on trucks with or without threaded inserts. If your truck has threaded inserts, follow steps 2.1–2.4. If it does not have threaded inserts, you will install T-bolt weldments (Item #11) into the obround holes in the rocker panel and follow steps 2.5–2.10 instead.
Yes. The manual states that 2009–2012 trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Position the bracket in place, mark the pinchweld for drilling, then drill the holes. After drilling, follow steps 2.7 and 2.8 to complete installation.
The kit includes: 2 front/middle brackets (Items #1 and #2), 1 rear left bracket (Item #3), 1 rear right bracket (Item #4), 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 X 1" (Item #5), 12 flat washers 1/4" (Item #6), 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 (Item #7), 12 hex head screws M8 X 25mm (Item #8), 12 flat washers 5/16" (Item #9), 6 hex flange nuts M8 (Item #10), 6 T-bolt weldments (Item #11), and 6 plastic bolt retainers 8mm (Item #12). Quantities vary by installation type (with or without threaded inserts).
No. The kit includes all fasteners needed: 12 carriage bolts, 12 flat washers (1/4"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 X 25mm), 12 flat washers (5/16"), and 6 hex flange nuts (M8). The quantities are sufficient for the complete installation on both sides of the truck.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. Check your truck to determine whether it has threaded inserts in the rocker panel or requires T-bolt installation. If your truck is a 2009–2012 model, confirm whether it has obround holes in the pinchweld; if not, you will need to drill them.
For the driver's side: (1) Place the front bracket (Item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. (2) Align the two rectangular holes in the lower flange with the obround holes in the pinchweld. (3) Insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the flange and pinchweld. (4) Add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7) to each bolt; leave finger-tight. (5) Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) through the upper mounting flange slots; leave finger-tight. (6) Repeat for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. (7) For the passenger side, use Item #2 as the front bracket, Item #1 as the middle, and Item #4 as the rear. Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners.
For the driver's side: (1) Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud exposed. (2) Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. (3) Place the front bracket (Item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. (4) Align and insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) through the lower flange and pinchweld; add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7) to each; leave finger-tight. (5) Place a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) and M8 flange nut (Item #10) on the T-bolt threaded stud; leave finger-tight. (6) Rotate the T-bolt so the nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. (7) Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9); leave finger-tight. (8) Repeat steps 2.5–2.8 for the middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. (9) For the passenger side, use Item #2 as the front bracket, Item #1 as the middle, and Item #4 as the rear. Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners.
The manual instructs you to leave all fasteners finger-tight during the initial installation so that you can install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before final tightening. This allows for proper alignment and fit before the fasteners are fully secured.
Only if your truck does not have obround holes in the pinchweld. The manual states that 2009–2012 trucks without obround holes will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Position the bracket in place, mark the pinchweld for drilling, then drill the holes. After drilling, follow steps 2.7 and 2.8 to complete installation.
You need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket in the pinchweld. Position the bracket in place and mark the pinchweld for drilling before drilling the holes.
The kit includes three different bracket types: front (Items #1 and #2), middle (Items #2 and #1), and rear (Items #3 and #4). The front and middle brackets are mirror images of each other. On the driver's side, Item #1 is the front bracket and Item #2 is the middle bracket. On the passenger side, Item #2 is the front bracket and Item #1 is the middle bracket. Item #3 is the rear left bracket and Item #4 is the rear right bracket.
The kit includes 6 mounting brackets total: 2 front/middle brackets (Items #1 and #2, one for each side), 1 rear left bracket (Item #3), and 1 rear right bracket (Item #4). These are installed in three positions (front, middle, rear) on each side of the truck.
The plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) is attached to the threaded stud of the T-bolt weldment (Item #11) to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel during installation. It is only used on trucks without threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
The lower mounting flange must be positioned to the outside of the pinchweld. This ensures that the rectangular holes in the flange align properly with the obround holes in the pinchweld for the carriage bolts.
Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #8) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) through the slots on the upper mounting flange. On trucks with threaded inserts, leave the screw finger-tight. On trucks without threaded inserts, first place a 5/16" flat washer (Item #9) and M8 flange nut (Item #10) on the T-bolt threaded stud, rotate the T-bolt so the nut is visible through the slotted hole, then insert the screw and washer; leave finger-tight.
Two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #5) are inserted through the rectangular holes in the lower mounting flange and the obround holes in the pinchweld. Each bolt is secured with a 1/4" flat washer (Item #6) and a 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #7).
Yes, if you have a 2009+ Ram 1500 Quad/Crew Cab or 2010+ Ram HD Crew/Mega Cab or Chassis Cab. Your truck must have either threaded inserts in the rocker panel or obround holes in the pinchweld (2009–2012 models without obround holes require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket).
Only on 2009–2012 Dodge Ram trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld. You will need to drill two 5/16" holes per bracket. All other trucks have pre-drilled holes or threaded inserts.
The kit includes 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 X 1"), 12 flat washers (1/4"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 X 25mm), 12 flat washers (5/16"), 6 hex flange nuts (M8), 6 T-bolt weldments, and 6 plastic bolt retainers. No additional fasteners are needed.
No. Leave all fasteners finger-tight during initial installation. Install and adjust the step plates and brackets first, then tighten all fasteners to their final specification.
No. The front and middle brackets are mirror images. On the driver's side, Item #1 is the front bracket and Item #2 is the middle bracket. On the passenger side, Item #2 is the front bracket and Item #1 is the middle bracket. The rear brackets (Items #3 and #4) are specific to each side.
The plastic bolt retainer (Item #12) attaches to the T-bolt weldment to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel. It is only used on trucks without threaded inserts.
