LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The CURT 570717 W2W Mega Step Brackets are designed for 2007 and newer GM crew cab pickups and ext cabs. Confirm your vehicle model year and cab style match these specifications before purchasing. The step board assembly is sold separately and length varies depending on application, so verify the correct board size for your truck.
The kit includes 6 mounting brackets (551746), 12 M8 bolts (100180), 12 washers (102734), 6 flanged nuts (105859), 6 U-nuts (105541), 6 nylon washers (107182), 2 nylock nuts (102381), 4 half-inch washers (100118), 4 3/8-inch washers (100062), 2 outboard spring hanger mounting brackets (551669), 2 inboard spring hanger mounting brackets (551806), 6 pinch weld support brackets (551666), and 2 hex head bolts (101326). The mega step board assembly is sold separately. Additional 5/16" bolts and serrated flange nuts come in the step board fastener package.
Yes. The mega step board assembly (Item 1) is sold separately from the bracket kit. The board length varies depending on your vehicle application, so you will need to order the correct size for your truck.
The distance between the 1st and 2nd bracket must be 24 inches.
Tighten the rocker panel fasteners (screw, washer, nut, and pinch weld support bracket) to 19 lb-ft. This applies to each of the mounting brackets.
Tighten the spring hanger flange nut to 60 lb-ft.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb-ft.
Insert a nylon washer (Item 8) between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel. Install the screw (Item 2), washer (Item 4), nut, and pinch weld support bracket (Items 5 and 14). Tighten to 19 lb-ft. Repeat this process for each mounting bracket.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item 13) up behind the flange of the bolt. Position it with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item 12) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket. Use a 3/8" zinc plated bolt (Item 17), washers (Items 9-11), and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut. Leave fasteners finger tight initially, then tighten the spring hanger flange nut to 60 lb-ft and the 5/16" fasteners to 19 lb-ft.
Insert four 5/16" square head screws into the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the mega step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Leave the fasteners connecting the inboard and outboard spring hanger mounting brackets finger tight during initial assembly (the 3/8" bolt, washers, and nylock nut). These are tightened to final torque (60 lb-ft for the spring hanger flange nut) only after the mega step is positioned.
The first and second brackets use M8 bolts (Item 2) and washers (Item 4). The third bracket back uses a 5/16" bolt (Item 6), U-nut (Item 7), and washer (Item 4) to mount.
